Thanks to how heavily influential this film was to the Cyberpunk, neo-noir and Science Fiction genres, alongside its Cult Classic Status, it's not surprising that various forms of media owe a lot to this film and give it several Shout Outs in any shape or formnote .

Anime & Manga
  • The whole Used Future-meets-Film Noir aesthetic of the Cowboy Bebop series takes a lot after Blade Runner.

    • Alongside that, the Public Safety Bureau's tower is exactly like the Police Headquarters in the aforementioned film. It's very noticeable in its overhead shots. Which is quite appropriate as they have a special police unit that is tasked with a white-haired suspect that has the intent of disrupting the social order.
  • Bubblegum Crisis is pretty heavily and blatantly inspired by Blade Runner. For one thing, it's Hero Protagonist Priss is named after the replicant Pris and she even has a band called Priss and the Replicants.
