Recap / Epic Rap Battles Of History Donald Trump Vs Joe Biden

Go To

Another election, another rap battle. This time, it's longtime Delaware senator and former Vice President Joe Biden (played by Peter Shukoff) going up against the incumbent Donald Trump (played by Lloyd Ahlquist).

  • Awful Wedded Life: Despite Trump bragging about banging his wife Melania, Joe Biden calls him a failure of a husband, bringing up Trump's numerous extramarital affairs and Melania's obvious discomfort whenever the two are together.
  • Badass Boast: Oddly enough, especially by the standard of the series or even rap battles in general, these are almost completely subverted or absent. Trump tries to boast about several things, but these are either highly controversial (like tear-gassing protestors/rioters) or things he hasn't done yet (like rescind Roe V. Wade). Biden by comparison spends almost the entirety of his verses attacking Trump.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Biden ends the rap battle with his memetic "will you shut up, man?"
  • Cool Shades: Biden's signature Aviator sunglasses are on display throughout the battle.
  • Dirty Old Man: Donald Trump mocks Biden's handsiness as a sign of perversion. In response, Joe Biden comments on Trump's extramarital affairs and past friendship with convicted child molester Jeffrey Epstein.
  • False Dichotomy: Donald Trump accuses Joe Biden of being anti-law and anti-capitalist for seeking proper oversight for the police and progressive taxation. Biden refutes that he does recognize the importance of law enforcement and that he truly does care about the country.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Joe Biden calls Trump out for his numerous unsavory associations, such as his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, his fondness for dictators like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, and his appointment of the "sycophantic, homophobe Hoosier" Mike Pence as his VP.
  • Hypocrite: Trump tries to accuse Biden of pedophilia, only for Biden to point out Trump's well-documented (albeit ended) friendship with human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Trump also repeatedly claims without evidence that Biden is a radical extremist, accusing him of "inciting hysteria", "hating America" and supporting "looting and violence" and saying he will "unleash Antifa and keep America like Portland." This all despite Trump himself being an infamous Rabble Rouser who traffics in far-right rhetoric designed to whip people into a frenzy in both the 2016 and 2020 election battles.
    • Biden gets some of this as well; he rejects the "defund the police" message and even touts that he picked a former district attorney as his VP, but then goes on to attack Trump over the death of Breonna Taylornote .
  • Invincible Villain: Trump has come to believe himself to be untouchable, claiming that "no person, woman, man, camera, TV" can beat him and even brags about shrugging off his impeachment. Considering real-life events, this could be considered a subversion now.
  • Karma Houdini: Trump brags about going through impeachment without a scratch.
Meh, they impeached me; I still walked out of DC looking peachy!
  • Kick the Dog: Donald Trump uses some of his verses to insult Biden's deceased relatives.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Biden says that Trump's father Fred would finally be proud of him if he saw what Trump had become now... because Fred was also a racist asshole.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: While not as off-the-wall as it was in "Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton", this rap battle still portrays Donald Trump as a bit of a bigot due to implicitly belittling the protests against systemic racism, plus his remark about not liking the shade after calling Biden "Barack's shadow" can be interpreted as admitting that he is a racist.
  • Pretender Diss: One of Biden's many grievances against Trump is how phony he is.
Joe Biden: You're a wrestling heel! Nothing 'bout you is real!
Bitch, you didn't even really write The Art of the Deal!
  • Rabble Rouser: Trump repeatedly accuses his opponent of being a radical extremist who hates America, prompting Biden to call him out for his anger-filled and invective-laden rhetoric.
Joe Biden: You tapped into the rage of Red Mad Hatters!
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Joe Biden's verses are largely focused on calling Trump out on his faults (fitting for a rap battle), leading up to the final verse addressing how Trump has failed America in numerous ways.
Donald Trump: It's like I tell criminals, Joe: stop running!
Joe Biden: Was Breonna Taylor running, hm, you dog-whistling fool.
I think your daddy would finally be proud of you; he was a racist asshole, too!
[scene cuts out as we see two Russian hackers tampering with the battle on their computers]
Russian Hacker 1: [What did you do?]
    Joe Biden: What's this malarkey?
    Russian Hacker 2: [Oh, fuck!]
    [battle returns to normal]
Joe Biden: Keep at it and you'll wind up in jail, Hoss
I'm taking you down like I'm you and you're a mailbox
From all your wives to the SATs
Everything you ever did, you just had to cheat
Because you're too insecure to even look like a loser
You're the worst damned Republican since Herbert Hoover
You scooped up a sycophantic, homophobe Hoosier
And became the Constitution's Domestic Abuser
200 thousand deaths lying at your door
And you think they're suckers like McCain and the Marine Corps
I can't tell for which side you're rooting
When we go high, you go down on Putin
Truth is, you're scared to lose
Got nothing in the bank 'cept IOUs
Y-y-you whine about ballots like a bitch
But the only thing that's rigged is taxes for the rich
You're a freeloader; change your name to Tramp
My campaign's ramping up; you can't get down a ramp
I'm pulling away faster than your wife's hand
For the love of democracy, will you shut up, man?
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Trump is the Red Oni, being loud and forceful, while Biden, being calm and reserved, is the Blue Oni. Their respective background colors reflect this.
  • Scatterbrained Senior: Trump is implied to be suffering from cognitive decline, as he makes a point of bragging about passing his cognitive function test (which wasn't supposed to be difficult in the first place), and his grammar and inflection get notably more awkward as he does so. Trump for his part accuses Biden of being sloppy.
  • Sore Loser: Trump's fear of losing power is emphasized at multiple points. Throughout the fight, he constantly brags about how he is certain to win, with one of his earliest lines in particular mentioning his desire to remain in office beyond the two-term limit. Meanwhile, Biden points out that Trump's fear of losing has gotten to the point where Trump will resort to rigging the election to ensure he stays in power.
  • Very Special Episode: This episode is a battle between two highly controversial Presidential candidates that brings four years of political unrest and national crises to the forefront. As such, it's right up there with its predecessor.
