"She can call herself anything she wants! That doesn't mean you can hit her! Not on my watch!"
Ronald Reagan

The third episode of the second season of Celebrity Deathmatch, more commonly known as Magic, Flashbacks and Pregnancies.

This episode consists of two pre-determined fights and one fight discovered from a secret vault uncovered from the previous episode. The first undercard fight features a clash of female TV icons between Calista Flockhart and Lucy Lawless. The second undercard fight is a pre-recorded fight from the '80s, and sees Don Johnson fighting against Boy George. The main event features a two-on-two showdown between renowned magicians Penn & Teller, and Siegfried & Roy.

This episode contains examples of:

  • '80s Hair: In the segment portraying the fight between Don Johnson and Boy George, the models for Johnny, Nick and Stacy have been altered to fit the era appropriately.
  • Artistic License – Anatomy: For some reason, after finding herself fully inserted into the rectum of Lucy Lawless, Calista Flockhart comes back out through the womb after Lucy essentially gives birth to her.
  • Ass Shove: While it doesn't end in death, Lucy Lawless manages to win her fight against Calista Flockhart by literally having her shoved completely up her butt.
  • Attack Animal: Roy summons a white tiger during the fight that ends up devouring Penn.
  • Attention Whore: Siegfried & Roy both resort to this due to their overconfidence, after levitating Penn & Teller in the air.
  • Batter Up!: Boy George briefly wields a baseball bat to counter one of Don Johnson's attacks.
  • Become Your Weapon: Penn has Teller don a cap that looks like the head of a missile, and then launches him out of a cannon aimed directly at Siegfried.
  • Berserk Button: Ronald Reagan doesn't like it when men hit women...or men who look like women.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Teller breaks character at the end of the fight to finally tell Penn that he's always hated him, and leaves him at the mercy of the white tiger that Roy has set on them.
  • Brain Theft: Penn manages to pull Roy's brain out through his ear, however this is shortly remedied when Siegfried conjures a pair of wings to fly the brain back into Roy's head.
  • Bridal Carry: After dispatching both Don Johnson and Ayatollah Khomeini, Ronald Reagan checks on Boy George but still mistakes him for a woman. Boy George simply responds by leaping into his arms.
  • The Cameo: This episode features appearances from Maya Angelou, Dennis Franz, Philip Michael Thomas, Mr. T, Cyndi Lauper, Ronald Reagan and Ayatollah Khomeini.
  • Cheek Copy: Calista Flockhart manages to subject Lucy Lawless to this by repeatedly slamming her face into a photocopier and scanning her face.
  • Continuity Nod: In the main event of the previous episode, the Backstreet Boys blew a hole in the side of the arena, which uncovered a secret vault containing a trove of pre-recorded Deathmatch fights.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: The reason why Don Johnson and Boy George are fighting is because Johnson is seeking revenge after feeling humiliated that he mistook Boy George for a woman.
    • Invoked again when guest referee Ronald Reagan wonders why Don is "beating up an exotically-dressed woman".
  • Epic Flail: Lucy Lawless throws two flails at Calista Flockhart's head, giving her the look of a schoolgirl with pigtails. However, Calista manages to use this to her advantage by shaking her head hard enough for the flail handles to completely destroy Lucy's sword.
  • Foreshadowing: Dennis Franz dressing as a baby...Calista daydreaming about having children...Calista making an off-hand comment about Lucy's biological clock ticking...Lucy's Ass Shove victory...it was only going to result in one thing.
  • Goo Goo Getup: In a nod to the "dancing baby" Ascended Meme from Ally McBeal, the first fight is briefly interrupted by someone in a diaper dancing in the corner of the ring. When it's revealed to be Dennis Franz, Mills Lane immediately kicks him out of the ring.
  • Gratuitous German: When calling the main event, Mills says his signature catchphrase in German instead of English.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Teller is sawn in half by Penn during the fight as part of a battle strategy that allows Teller's upper and lower half to start whaling on Siegfried.
  • Head Crushing: After being knocked to the floor, Don Johnson's head is crushed when Ronald Reagan jumps on him from the ring post.
  • Human Cannonball: Teller is launched from a cannon while wearing a headpiece designed to look like a missile head. When he crashes into Siegfried, his target promptly explodes.
  • Human Shield: Penn uses Teller as one when Roy summons a white tiger.
  • Idiot Ball: After suspending their opponents in the air, both Siegfried and Roy get too cocky and start showboating. This causes their telekinesis powers to fade and Penn & Teller manage to return to the ground and sneak away.
  • Imagine Spot: True to her role in Ally McBeal, Calista Flockhart has a daydream about having a husband and children, which gives her the motivation to start fighting back against Lucy Lawless.
    • Made even funnier when you notice that, in the daydream, Calista still has Epic Flails stuck in her head...which somehow results in both her imaginary son and daughter having them too.
  • Kill Sat: When Ayatollah Khomeini enters the ring to challenge Ronald Reagan, he simply dispatches the terrorist by firing a satellite laser at his exact location...on his second attempt, at least.
  • Mind over Matter: Siegfried & Roy manage to temporarily suspend Penn & Teller in the air at one point during their fight.
  • Music Soothes the Savage Beast: Boy George manages to stop Don Johnson from attacking him by singing Do You Really Want to Hurt Me. It works until Philip Michael Thomas reminds Don why they're fighting.
  • No-Sell: Siegfried and Roy stuff Teller inside a basket and proceed to stab him with multiple swords. Despite them goading Teller into breaking character and call for help, and despite the agony on Teller's face, Penn refuses to believe that he's actually in danger and stands by idly.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Teller breaks character - and his renowned silence - to finally snap at Penn for all the abuse he's put him through.
  • Pick a Card: The main event starts off with Penn asking Siegfried to pick from a deck of cards. When asked to return the card to the deck, Siegfried's hand is suddenly mauled by a wild raccoon.
  • Saw a Man in Half: Penn alludes to this trick by stuffing Teller into a box and sawing him in half.
  • Scatterbrained Senior: The depiction of Ronald Reagan in this episode is one where he is clearly suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
  • Spectator Casualty: One unlucky audience member is accidentally vaporized when Ronald Reagan sets his Kill Sat to target the wrong coordinates.
  • Spit Out a Shoe: After devouring Penn, the white tiger burps up his glasses.
  • Summon Magic: After Siegfried is killed in an explosion, Roy summons one of their famous white tigers to attack Penn & Teller.
  • Tied Up on the Phone: Calista Flockhart manages to use the cord of a telephone to tie up Lucy Lawless.
  • Unsettling Gender-Reveal: As revealed in uncovered footage, Don Johnson had met Boy George at a bar and mistakes him for a woman. After hitting it off with him and entering into a relationship, Boy George reluctantly reveals his gender just as Don is inviting him into bed. Don screams in horror before breaking down in tears...and eventually challenging him to a Deathmatch.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: The first undercard fight is preceded by a short poetry reading by Maya Angelou, which ends with her dress slipping down and exposing her breasts when she waves at the audience in gratitude. She quickly collects herself and hastily leaves the ring.
  • We Used to Be Friends: After Penn uses Teller as a Human Shield from a white tiger, Teller pulls out a steak and immediately stuff it into Penn's pants, before breaking character and telling Penn that he's never liked him.
  • When Elders Attack: Ronald Reagan, despite being a guest referee, quickly turns hostile on Don Johnson and wastes no time in killing him.
  • Whip of Dominance: Lucy Lawless wields one of these early on in her fight against Calista Flockhart.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The build up to the fight between Don Johnson and Boy George is essentially the plot to The Crying Game.
