Yukiteru is living with his family friends, after playing with candles and accidentally burning his house down as a child. Unfortunately, Yuno reacted poorly to them moving out to their own home when it was finished and it was time to leave, so they have continued to do so for years. Now in high school, they are living their life as normal until Rena, who is jealous of their closeness, makes a surprise move.

Another ecchi manga by Masahiro Itosugi, Uwakoi revolves around a growing love triangle between Yuno, Rena and Yukiteru. The manga ran in Young King from 2011 to 2014.

Uwakoi provides examples of:

  • Genre Savvy: One of possible interpretations of why Yukiteru secretly dates Rena while not breaking up with Yuno in public. Its because he knows she has mental problems, and tries to stay away from her, but knows what will happen if he actually rejects her. Of course given how blatantly bold and reckless his and Rena antics are, he is not Savvy enough.
  • Karma Houdini: Everyone except Yukiteru.
  • Love Triangle: Between Yukiteru, Rena, and Yuno — all three of whom have issues.
  • Meaningful Name: Possibly coincidental, but having the two main characters named Yukiteru and Yuno gave pretty much every reader an Oh, Crap! moment, and hinted to at least one of their personality traits.
  • Ojou: Rena. She comes across as almost an Alpha Bitch, frowning upon Yuno's displays of affection towards Yukiteru. This is because she's in love with him, and is his "mistress".
  • Parental Abandonment: Although we do see Yukiteru and Yuno's parents in a flashback in one chapter, we never see Yukiteru's again after that. Rena suggests that she doesn't have parents either during her sleepover at Yuno's house, where she comments that she feels uncomfortable because Yuno's home has everything she doesn't have, particularly "family".
  • Pyromaniac: Yukiteru. To the point that he burned his house down on accident as a child.
  • Rape as Drama: After whacking him with a baseball bat, Yuno ties up Yukiteru and straight-up rapes him when he wakes up. And he is horrified the entire time.
  • Really Gets Around: Yukiteru has no self-control when it comes to pretty girls.
  • Shout-Out: A yandere girl named Yuno who sets her eyes on a meek boy named Yukiteru? Haven't seen that before.
  • Secret-Keeper: Kaori
Even if I am loose down there, my mouth is sealed tight!
  • Sexual Karma: Mostly averted. When Yukiteru and Rena have sex, it's not very healthy and normal. As of 7th chapter, they are having sex during Rena's sleepover at Yuno and Yukiteru house, during which Rena smothers him with a pillow to make him quiet, lampshading it looks like she is murdering him - which he seems to either enjoy or is scared of, or both. Despite her efforts to seduce him, Yukiteru refuses to have sex with Yuno until she rapes him.
  • Spiritual Antithesis: Uwakoi is this for the author's earlier work Aki Sora, where both series have protagonists who are effeminate Really Gets Around teenage boys and feature many blatant sex with young, pretty girls. Ironically, while the latter deals with forbidden relationship between main characters, it has more chance to achieve happy end than the former. It does so because the latter is played as (mostly) light hearted typical ecchi series and Uwakoi is played for drama and deconstruction of Really Gets Around behavior of its' characters.
  • Their First Time: Yukiteru and Rena do it under the bridge. He and Yuno do it when she ties up and rapes him.
  • There Are No Therapists: This time as a small description of the main cast.
    • Yukiteru finds destruction beautiful (as an aftereffect of him burning accidentally his house as a kid) and cannot say what he really thinks.
    • Yuno goes Yandere on Yukiteru and anyone that tries to take him away from her. And it's not the first time it happens.
    • Rena cannot differentiate between her love for Yukiteru and her love for destroying things.
    • Kaori doesn`t find joy in anything but casual sex. And smiles to hide it.
    • Eris gets off on destroying other people's relationships because she lost the man she loved.
    • Yomi looks like big sister-type Nice Girl but chapter 16 reveals she had relationship with many married men but left them before any relationship goes serious.
  • Wham Episode:
    • Chapter 14. Before this, Yuno was implied to be a Yandere by her sister, but it's always kept to a level of simple jealousy. But then Yuno carves her name into Yukiteru's chest with a knife.
    • Chapter 32; Yuno and Yukiteru have Their First Time. Against his will.
    • Chapter 36; Eris leaks the footage of the "S.F" club and then kills herself.
    • Chapter 37; Yukiteru is murdered by a jealous boyfriend and Rena and Yuno are each left to raise their child with him alone.
  • Yandere: Yuno is revealed to be one by her sister. Initially she shows nothing worse than jealousy toward Yukiteru and Rena being too friendly. In chapter 13, when upon seeing Yukiteru and Rena sleeping in same futon, she gets yandere eyes, walks out of room, and then returns with a knife. As if it wasn't bad enough, it's revealed she violently scared off one other girl who got too close to him in past, into dropping out of school. Yuno, while holding a knife above Yukiteru: "It seems I'll have to write my name... a name that can't be erased." she then proceeds to carve her name... into his chest. She only stops when Yumeno wakes up and knocks her unconscious.
