Forced to crossdress by his friends, Iori Akizakura is asked out by a handsome guy. When he tries to tell him that he's actually a guy and that he likes girls, the "guy", Hazuki Rindou, grabs his hand and places it on her breast. "I never said I was a guy, did I?" And so begins a gender-bending relationship.

Handsome Girl and Crossdressing Boy (Ikemen Joshi to Josou Danshi), also unofficially called While Cross-Dressing, I Was Hit on by a Handsome Guy! is an Ecchi Romantic Comedy webmanga by TADD, released on Twitter and Pixiv. A print version has been published by Kadokawa since May 2020.

Contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Age-Gap Romance: Iori and Hazuki are seven years apart (Iori is 19-20, and Hazuki is 26-27). Neither of them has been in a relationship before.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Averted. Iori himself is not nearly as enthusiastic about sex, unless Hazuki is actively seducing him, and doesn't act perverted around Hazuki normally.
  • All Women Are Prudes: Averted. Hazuki is the more sexually voracious one and she's the one who usually initiates their sex. While in bed, she's more of the top, as in the active partner, while Iori is more passive (though Hazuki has allowed Iori to take the lead when he insists).
  • Ambiguously Bi: Largely averted in the main manga proper. Iori, despite crossdressing, never shows or indicates any attraction to men. Hazuki is explicitly attracted to men, and even told her best friend, Koyuki, in high school that her ideal lover was a feminine guy. She never expresses attraction to women despite her butch, masculine appearance. The R18 comics play with this more. Even though Iori only has sex with Hazuki, he commonly wears women's lingerie or underwear while doing it, and Hazuki often times acts as the penetrative partner, using dildos, strap-ons, and butt plugs on Iori, to the point where one may begin to question how straight he is. Meanwhile, there are R18 comics showing Koyuki having sex with Iori's sister Sayuri, while there are other comics also showing Koyuki having sex with an unnamed man whose face isn't visible. There is no indication in the manga proper that either Koyuki or Sayuri swing towards women or are in a relationship, and the actual canonicity of the R18 comics in regards to the manga is disputable, leaving the entire situation ambiguous.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Everyone thinks Iori is cute as a girl, and in the very first page one of the friends who made him do it in the first place is thinking "I'd tap that".
  • Beach Episode: Chapters 55-70 cover Iori, Hazuki, Sayuri, and Koyuki planning and taking a beach trip. Volleyball, swimming, and fireworks ensue.
  • Bifauxnen: Hazuki is tall, has Boyish Short Hair, and looks like a particularly feminine guy.
  • Big Little Sister: Downplayed. Sayuri, who's 3 years younger than Iori, has a few centimeters on him.
  • Birthday Episode: Two chapters focus on the birthdays of Iori and Hazuki, respectively. Hazuki's birthday, in particular, is the lead-in to the manga's final arc.
  • Book Ends: The series begins and ends with Iori and Hazuki going to a love hotel.
  • Bridal Carry: In the second chapter, Iori tries to show how assertive he can be, but ends up getting this from Hazuki.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: An omake shows Hazuki becomes a Sentimental Drunk when she has alcohol.
  • Cherry Blossoms: In Chapter 40, Hazuki takes Iori on a date to see the cherry blossoms, and makes a pun about being able to see them after spring (since his last name, Akizakura, contains the kanji for autumn and sakura).
  • Chocolate of Romance: An omake from the first volume has Iori expecting to get chocolate from Hazuki on Valentine's Day, but she asks if he has anything for her (since she generally acts as the "guy" in their relationship). After seeing his startled face, she admits she was kidding and gives him a Spaghetti Kiss with a long piece of chocolate.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapters 93 and 94 focus on Sayuri and Koyuki, and the main couple doesn't even appear.
  • Drama Bomb Finale: Whereas the rest of the series has Iori and Hazuki act sweetly towards each other, the final arc has them fight and consider breaking up. The two manage to resolve their misunderstandings and get back together.
  • Fan Convention: In Chapter 91, Hazuki and Iori go to a cosplay convention in costume.
  • First-Episode Twist: The first chapter (and the chapters are only about 5 pages long) reveals that the "handsome guy" is actually a bifauxnen. Becomes a Spoiler Title with the new translated title.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: An omake shows a flashback to ten years ago, where a 16-year-old Hazuki helped a 9-year-old Iori find his lost sister (they looked alike even then).
  • Gender Reveal: The first chapter has Hazuki reveal that she's a woman to Iori.
  • Going Commando: In Chapter 75, Iori forgets to wear underwear when meeting Hazuki in public, and panics about trying to keep her from finding out.
  • Hidden Buxom: Hazuki has surprisingly large breasts when she takes off her shirt.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Iori tries to show his manly side to Hazuki, but on the next page she's giving him a Bridal Carry, to his surprise.
  • Loveable Sex Maniac: Hazuki is quite eager to get Iori in the sack at any opportunity and purposely walks around her apartment (and his) with her tits hanging out when Iori is present, well aware of how she's sexually tempting him. She was the one who took them to a love hotel on their first date!
  • Love Hotel: Hazuki ends up taking Iori to one at the end of the first chapter.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Hazuki squishes Iori's face into her boobs to calm him down.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy:
    • Naturally. The whole manga is about the relationship between a crossdressing guy and an assertive bifauxnen. Iori tries to show his masculinity and be a good boyfriend, but finds he likes letting Hazuki be the masculine one.
    • The R18 comics emphasize this even more. Not only is Hazuki the more active sexual partner, while Iori continues to crossdress (sometimes wearing women's lingerie), several comics show that Hazuki sometimes also acts as the penetrative partner during sex, using dildos, butt-plugs and strap-ons on Iori, further emphasizing her masculine role. Just like in the main story, Iori sometimes still acts as the masculine penetrative partner.
  • Minimalist Cast: There are only four named characters: Iori, Hazuki, Iori's sister Sayuri, and Hazuki's friend Koyuki.
  • Nipple and Dimed: Whenever Hazuki is topless, her nipples are censored by the space between the manga panels.
  • No Sense of Direction: Sayuri is terrible with directions. Iori is a little better but gets lost easily when he's under pressure (like from trying to find Sayuri).
  • Noodle Incident: The particular event that got Iori to cross-dress in the first place is not given much more detail beyond the first page.
  • One Head Taller: Hazuki is about 178 cm and Iori is about 163 cm. Hazuki is the more dominant of the pair.
  • Over-the-Shoulder Carry: Hazuki grabs Iori like this and runs away from Koyuki and Sayuri in Chapter 70.
  • Real Men Cook: Zig-Zagged. Between him and Hazuki, Iori is the better cook, but he's the more feminine one.
  • Relationship Trinket: Hazuki gives Iori one earring, and wears the other one herself so they match.
  • Sarashi: During Hazuki's first visit to Iori's apartment in chapter 48, its shown that she wears these while she's out and about to bind her breasts while she's wearing men's clothing (which, as noted on the trope's page, is a common use of them).
  • Self-Censored Release: Inverted. The manga didn't start off pornographic, but the author later added pornographic R18 comics staring the main characters to his Pixiv account, showing off their love life in intimate detail.
  • Shout-Out: In Chapters 48-50, they watch the Iron Man trilogy together.
  • Smells Sexy: After their first date, Iori takes a deep sniff of a shirt that has the scent of Hazuki's perfume on it. Just then, he gets a call that she sent him a gift. It turns out to be the same perfume.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: When he wears a wig, Iori is almost identical to his younger sister Sayuri. Hazuki is able to tell them apart because of the size difference (in height, get your mind out of the gutter).
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: When his sister Sayuri sees his computer screen on a website selling women's clothing, she assumes he has a girlfriend and is buying something for her. It's not technically a lie.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: When Hazuki and Iori run into Sayuri at the cosplay con, she panics and says "I don't know any Sayuri" before they say anything.
  • Through Her Stomach: Iori's skill at cooking impresses Hazuki, and she vows to get better at cooking so she can return the favor.
  • Unusual Euphemism: "They hugged till morning" is used as euphemism for "and they had sex" in the very second chapter. To be fair, they did stay in bed and cuddle afterwards.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Iori. He first cross-dresses after losing a bet, but continues to do so as it's how he feels most comfortable with Hazuki.
