The Prelude
- When Olivia retaliates against Luca after his attempted attack on her, the other men in the bar are shocked at her change in personality on a dime as she angrily kicks him. However, one says that he almost wishes he was Luca.
- In the second chapter, Giorno and Olivia have a chance encounter when Olivia sneaks aboard his cab. At the end, Giorno ends up pinching her wallet, but it turned out that Olivia was a step ahead of him thanks to getting by in Naples before the story's events. As a result, not only is there nothing in the wallet, the only thing inside is a piece of paper that contained a doodle of Olivia sticking her tongue out, with "Sucker!" written on it.
- Olivia has some humorous thoughts that would not be far off from what the audience would wonder when she meets Polpo, such as how she wonders how he got so massive, or even how he's able to use the cell toilet. There's also when Polpo briefly mentions his youth to Olivia, Olivia tries to imagine a younger Polpo, but she just shudders with disgust. It's humorously safe to say none of these probably would be a pretty picture for anybody.
- When Buccellati is giving exposition about the gang's history in this version of the story, he ends up saying something that leaves him open for some Hypocritical Humor from Olivia:Buccellati: As long as you don't attract attention to yourself by wearing flashy clothes, you won't be targeted for assassination.
Olivia: ...So, what are you wearing then?
Buccellati: I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that.- Additionally, after he explains the hierarchy of the gang, Olivia makes another crass remark, with Bruno annoyed by it, but it's Played for Laughs.
Buccellati: Come to think of it, our consigliere's identity is a mystery too. We know his name, but he never shows his face at all…
Olivia: So, both the Boss and his consigliere are a mystery, eh? Something tells me they're having a secret spicy relationship.
Buccellati: Does your mouth ever have a filter?
Olivia: If you ask nicely… I still won't do it.
Buccellati: Well, please refrain yourself from making jokes like that while we're around other gangsters. - When Olivia is introduced to Buccellati's men, we see that her table manners are quite different from everyone else's considering she was only just barely getting by beforehand. Not only does she excitedly eat spaghetti quite loudly, she also eats bread alongside the pasta. The narration explains as to why everyone except Buccellati is bewildered at the sight.In a typical Italian dining setting, bread should not be eaten together with pasta. Bread is only allowed near a pasta dish to do a good old-fashioned "scarpetta", which is to wipe the sauce off the plate after finishing the pasta. What Olivia has committed is almost considered blasphemy to their eyes.
- Afterwards, Abbacchio tells her off on the table manners, which Olivia's only response is to slowly slurp up a noodle that was hanging from her mouth by then.
- During Abbacchio's birthday party, Olivia's gift to him ends up being a coffee mug shaped like a toilet. Since Olivia was going for his reaction, she's in stitches when everyone else but her is mortified by it. Abbacchio smashes it, but it only makes Olivia laugh even harder.
Boss' Orders
- Olivia's attempts to tease Giorno after he explains his dream to her and Buccellati, all of which don't work and just end up confusing him when she resorts to squishing his face. Olivia then has the following realization:Olivia (In thought): Well, damn… This is what they called… an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
- In chapter 5 Mista's banter about the possible taste of human flesh gets an extra layer of humor thanks to Olivia being present, which results in this gem:Olivia (With a lit cigarrette in her mouth): I tasted human flesh before.
Narancia: You did?!
Olivia: Last night, his name's Guido Mista.
[Fugo drops his fork on the plate, while Abbacchio bursts into laughter, followed by Narancia laughing after getting over his shock, while Mista grins while blushing]
Fugo: Can't you filter your mouth before you speak?! What the hell goes on with that messed up head of yours?! Go sit at the dipshit table with Mista so you two can eat together! [Snatches Olivia's cigarrette] And this restaurant doesn't allow smoking!
Olivia: This restaurant has a no-shirt policy too. But you're a repeated offender.
[Everyone else at the table laughs] - The Morioh flashback at the start of chapter 6 has a few chuckles sprinkled in, which manages to feel like a temporary revisit of the cast despite not having any dialogue spoken. The first half of the ending narration mentions Josuke wanting expensive shoes as a souvenir when he and Koichi's friends hear of where he's headed. Okuyasu is mentioned to have lamented on missing out on Italian cuisine before Fubuki reminded him about Tonio's. It's a heartwarming nod to the Morioh cast while retaining their style of humor (which helps mask that it ends up being part of a Bait-and-Switch for when Josuke and Fubuki actually reappear in the story).
- The start of chapter 8 has some good old UDPR style hilarity during the scene where Josuke, Fubuki, and Koichi are in the hotel room. When Koichi sets back out to find Hitomi, Fubuki makes a snide reminder for Koichi to not get robbed again, to which Koichi responds with a sarcastic chuckle.
- Then there's how Josuke reveals how he got the ability to speak Italian like Koichi did: He had to get on his knees and beg Rohan! The narration even adds he almost refused Josuke's offer.
- The scene is then capped off by someone opening the hotel room door. The two boys think it's Koichi again, but it ends up being Hitomi...who the two were trying to keep their distance from as per Jotaro's orders.
- When Olivia follows Giorno in secret as he takes the initiation test for Passione, he unknowingly passes by the bullies that stopped bullying him after Giorno saved Dieci's life, now older as well. They decide to try to trip him again when they see that Dieci isn't around, but the leader of the bullies falls into dog poop thanks to Olivia secretly planting a black puzzle piece onto him. Enraged by this, he begins fighting amongst his own cohorts, making for a hilarious turnaround. This also doubles as heartwarming with Olivia looking out for Giorno here.
- After Hitomi is finished speaking with Giorno following their reunion, a Mood Whiplash occurs in which she proceeds to pull away both Josuke and Fubuki by their ears to make sure they don't run off again after they did so off-screen after their prior scene with Hitomi. The kicker is that for once, Fubuki is getting his ear pulled on while he complains, which doesn't go unnoticed by Josuke.Fubuki: Ow ow ow, Hitomi, come on! Is this necessary?!
Josuke: Hey, Fubuki... You know those times that you keep pulling on my ear whenever I do something stupid? Consider this karma. - The Hitman Team's Early-Bird Cameo at Club L'amore in chapter 10 has quite a few:
- At the start, there's some banter between Ghiaccio and Formaggio. It's one big Shout-Out to GoodFellas, but similar to the homage to An American Werewolf in London in the previous story, it ends up perfectly in line with Ghiaccio's personality!
Formaggio: It's funny, you know, It's a good story, you're a funny guy.
Ghiaccio: ...Funny how?
Melone: Chill, Ghiaccio, You're getting it all wrong.
Ghiaccio: Shush, Melone! He's a big boy, he knows what he said. Let me understand this, Formaggio, 'cause maybe I'm a little fucked up, but what do you mean funny? Funny how? Funny like a clown, do I amuse you?
Formaggio: Just, y-you know...How you tell the story.
Ghiaccio: I don't know, you said I'm funny. How the fuck am I funny, what the fuck is so funny about me? Tell me what's funny!
Formaggio (After a long pause): Get the fuck out of here, Ghiaccio!
Ghiaccio (Laughing with the others): I almost had him! Formaggio, you dumb prick!- This bit even gets one quick nod original to the fanfic when the group goes over Sorbet and Gelato's deaths for a moment.
Melone: Nobody in this bar knows who we are. Keeping our team a secret is a reason why we haven't been targeted.
Illuso: Who would even target us? I mean, besides Formaggio and his mediocre Stand...
Formaggio (Sarcastically): Very funny.
Ghiaccio: WHAT DID YOU FUCKING SAY?!
Formaggio: I wasn't referring to you! - Chapter 10 has some more Adaptation Expansion antics at the Libeccio table. The first is a Not What It Looks Like moment as Olivia gets an itch in her crotch after reaching for a slice of cake, which leads to Fugo noticing as he's trying to tutor Narancia. Olivia just rolls with the punches for the sake of getting a reaction out of him.Fugo: You're halfway solving this problem already— Olivia, are you masturbating?!
Olivia: Kinda.
Fugo: T-take your hand out!- And as with prior scenes, there's additional humor regarding the four slices of cake. For one thing, there were 5, but Olivia took the 5th slice while Mista wasn't looking, causing Mista to glare at her for a moment. After Abbacchio takes the fourth slice of cake remaining, there's this, with Fugo's response being a Shout-Out to "Band Geeks":
Olivia: See, Abbacchio didn't drop dead or anything. You can't let superstitions run your life.
Fugo: Oh, the girl with the power of bad luck is gonna preach to us.- Then, when Fugo and Narancia briefly get into a fight, Olivia ends up egging Narancia on thanks to her and Fugo not getting along well, much to Fugo's annoyance.
- Finally, the infamous "tea" from Abbacchio is also used as a Brick Joke to Olivia's birthday gift to Abbacchio when Olivia realizes what he did after sniffing the cup.
Olivia: ...Shoulda kept my birthday gift to you. Would have been absolutely perfect.
[Narancia and Mista could not help but laugh. Abbacchio looked down at the teapot, wondering if he should smash it over Olivia's head.] - Before the fight with Soft Machine happens on the Yacht the group is on, Mista's plan to ruin Narancia's radio gets derailed when Olivia decides to pull a Distracted by the Sexy on them by using a towel she found to sunbathe while topless. First, Narancia notices, but in the process he squeezed the Sprite can so hard its contents splashed, even on Mista. After that, he also notices Olivia. Olivia then beckons one of them to put on some sun lotion on her. Cue the two boys squabbling over it, in which Olivia grabs a can for herself and the headphones of Narancia's radio while they're distracted.Narancia: Mista... I think we've been duped by her tricky feminine wiles.
Mista: She can "dupe" me any time.
Narancia: You're weird, man.- Afterwards, Narancia asks Olivia for the radio and headphones back, but Olivia manages to dupe him again into using it a bit longer.
Narancia: Hey, Olivia, this is my radio. No one's allowed to touch it, okay? Since I'm older than you, you gotta respect me, got it?
Olivia (Putting on Puppy-Dog Eyes): I'm sorry, I just want to hear some music too.
Narancia (Shyly): Oh, okay... you can use it a little longer... - The torture dance has Olivia bewildered at the sight. The kicker is that original to this story, Abbacchio implies they've done it at least one other time in the past.Olivia: What the hell did I just witness...
Abbacchio: Oh god, don't tell me they're doing their silly dance routine again.
Olivia: AGAIN?! - When Narancia wonders who Zucchero was talking to, him and Sale's Early-Bird Cameo from the start of the story comes up again, but with a clever reminder about the cast's Edible Theme Naming.Narancia: Who the hell was on the radio?
Olivia: Sale!
Narancia: Y-you want salt? - After Sale and Pepe are dealt with at the end of chapter 13, Olivia witnesses Giorno mistakingly making the truck driver drive away again after he just brought Mista back. For added humor, she begins chasing after the truck despite her injuries. The following chapter mentions that it took 5 minutes before Giorno noticed her and stopped the truck.
- During the team's arrival at the vineyard house, there's Olivia accidentally walking in on an already bathing Trish when she goes into the bathroom to bathe, not realizing Trish was already inside until she pulled the curtains. This ends up leading to a domino effect when Olivia gets shampoo splashed on her face from a thrown shampoo bottle and blindly runs out the bathroom, where she crashes into Mista (who had heard what was happening and came up to check), causing the both of them to fall down the stairs. This ends up ending in a Suggestive Collision, which thanks to the shampoo and Olivia being naked, Narancia and Abbacchio mistake it for what it looked like. Cue Olivia comically upset by what happened as Mista tries to comfort her.Mista (Sheepishly): I mean, you still got better boobs than most girls...
Olivia: She wasn't supposed to see me that way! - When Olivia and Fugo are trapped in the mirror world during the fight with Illuso, they put together a ruse to make it look like they're fighting amongst themselves. Eventually, she fakes strangling Fugo, who has a hard time making convincing sounds of being choked. However, it falls apart when Olivia pretending to strangle Fugo ends up being something he secretly likes, with Olivia feeling something poking her as she does it.Olivia (In thought): Come on, Fugo, can you at least pretend to act like you're dying?
[Something Else Also Rises, which Olivia thought was a pen in his pocket until she realizes what it is]
Olivia (In thought): Wait... is he getting off from this?!
Fugo: That wasn't supposed to happen...! - The team regrouping after their Simultaneous Arcs has Olivia running towards Narancia with open arms, who just runs past her and goes to Fugo instead. She tries again with Mista, only for him to run to Giorno, causing her to fall on her face (which doubles as a Mythology Gag to a similar joke in JoJolion). Trish finally helps her up, only for her to negatively comment on the dust and dried blood on her. Played for Laughs, this causes Olivia to strangle Mista.Olivia: Why didn't YOU pick me up when I fell?!
Mista: S-sorry! It's just that Giorno looked more hurt...
Olivia: You don't know what I've been through today! - The team driving to the train station has some added humor original to the story:
- When Buccellati mentions the train for Florence, Olivia reminisces on wanting to go there, seemingly bereft of a suggestive remark for once...until she says it right after Abbacchio wonders the lack of one.
Olivia: Ohhh, I always wanted to visit Florence. It's the birthplace of High Renaissance art, after all. That's where you can find Michelangelo's David and Botticelli's The Birth of Venus. Too bad we can't stop along the way, I would've loved to see them both up close.
Abbacchio (In thought): Wow... she just made a normal comment. Where's the dirty mindset?
Olivia: Personally, I think Venus has a hotter body than David.
Abbacchio (In thought): Ah, there it is.- Fugo's Accidental Pervert moment on the car is given a different spin here. For one thing, Olivia causes the car to swerve, which throws Fugo into Trish's chest. Furthermore, Olivia uses a black puzzle piece on Mista's belt...which causes it to break, revealing his underwear. The kicker is that this causes Trish to flip out and start throwing books at Mista and Fugo.
- During Trish and Olivia's one to one conversation in chapter 28, Trish tells Olivia she's grown to appreciate her presence. With Olivia having a crush on her, this makes her feel giddy. Suddenly, Olivia asks if the two of them just ran away together, with Trish suddenly quite eager about the idea as she also throws herself onto Olivia, also whispering about intimacy to her. It ends up being revealed to be an Imagine Spot, but it's done quite humorously.Trish: I want you to do unspeakable things to me.
Olivia: I cannot do that.
Trish: Why not?
Olivia: Because this sequence isn't real… WAKE UP!! - When the group get trapped in their daydreams because of Dreamboat Annie, two of them start out comedic, which are Olivia and Narancia's. Olivia's in particular starts out as a standard dirty daydream of her and Mista, but then the last we see of it is her now noticing that Fugo, Narancia, Abbacchio, and Buccellati are behind the couch she's on, and they're all wearing tight shirts and underwear. This causes Olivia's nose to bleed comically. Aside from that though, it's a clear reference to the infamous meme of Piper Perri surrounded by men.
- Olivia sasssing Ghiaccio even though he's in the middle of attacking them during this story's version of the White Album arc is an absolute killer, from both Olivia's retorts and Ghiaccio's angered reactions.Ghiaccio: You naive fools!! There's no way you can get away from the Hitman Team!
Olivia: You mean, "Hitman Duo". Since that's basically all that's left of your pitiful team.
Ghiaccio: WHO FUCKING SAID THAT?! I'll fucking murder you for that remark!
(...)
Ghiaccio: Where is it?! I don't see the turtle inside the car! Where's the turtle Trish is hiding?!
Olivia: It's deep inside of my ass. You're welcome to dig it out.- Olivia goes as far as keeping this up even when more of the car is frozen and she's freezing, interrupting Ghiaccio's rant about linguistics.
Ghiaccio: But with Venezia, everyone pronounces "Venice", the English way. Like "The Merchant of Venice", and "Death in Venice"...
Olivia: D-don't f-forget "Vampire in Venice".
Ghiaccio: SHUT UP! My point is... WHY ISN'T IT CALLED "DEATH IN VENEZIA"?! Are they mocking me?! If it takes place in Italy, use the Italian language, dammit!! That shit pisses me off! Bunch of dumbasses!!
Olivia: O-oh yeah? I-if you're that critical about proper linguistics... h-how come you refer to your group as "The Hitman Team" in English... i-instead of "La Squadra Esecuzioni" in Italian?
Mista: Olivia, don't antagonize the maniac with the ice power!
Ghiaccio: You're dead, bitch!! - Even the infamous "Golden Succ" scene gains a new layer in how Olivia is a part of it now, which even gets an illustration to accompany it, redrawing the scene from the anime and now looking like a slight threesome instead. While she was instructed to hold Mista down to make Giorno's job easier, her positioning plays right into what Narancia mistakes what they're doing. Here, she looks as though she's giving Mista a handjob. As mentioned above, the kicker is that this image has remained at the very end of the gallery since the release of the chapter it was used in, complete with an excerpt of "Freek'n You" as its caption.
Betrayal
- Another memetic scene, where an ordinary man in a suit is mistaken for an enemy and gets kicked also gets a new spin on it. Before Abbacchio joins the kicking, Fugo urges him to stop Narancia and Mista's kicking, but it's to no avail. Olivia is about to join in, but then Fugo stops her. Then comes when the three realized the man was a normal guy:Abbacchio: Huh, Fugo's right. He's just a random civilian.
Olivia: Or he could be the Hitman Team's leader.
[Everyone paused… before kicking the customer again, this time Olivia joined in with them. Fugo gave up and just buried his face into his palm. After they were done, Olivia frisked the man's wallet and found his ID.]
Olivia: Oops, we messed up. He really is an ordinary civilian. - The Clash and Talking Head arc gains a new moment of hilarity thanks to not only Olivia being present, but also Fugo thanks to him choosing to stay with the group. During the part where Narancia rapidly spews lies trying to stop Giorno from getting on the boat due to Clash's presence, many of the lies that come out are various incorrect facts about math among other things (including a nod to his Stand's Dub Name Change!). This ends up angering Fugo, who wants to stab him with a fork again. Olivia stops Fugo, but then the last lie on Narancia's next set of lies calls Olivia, a transgirl, a boy, which results in an absolutely golden case of Hypocritical Humor:Fugo: All my hours tutoring him… have gone to waste! [Grabs a fork from the table] I'll stab that stupid—!!
Olivia: Calm down, Panna! Maybe his head's a little messed up...
Narancia: I'm a girl! Bruce Lee's a girl too! And so is Stallone! Except Olivia, she's a boy!
Olivia (Grabbing the fork from Fugo): I'm gonna stab him!!
Fugo: Calm down, Olivia! - The brief flashback explaining how Fugo became immune to Purple Haze's virus, with Giorno using a remnant of the virus on Fugo on Giorno's suggestion. After being convinced by Giorno, Fugo accepts, followed by him thrashing around in pain (presumably the same way Giorno did), which is punctuated by Abbacchio making a sarcastic remark on it. It helps that the narration makes it very easy to imagine a Smash Cut to Fugo rolling on the floor with the others standing nearby. Just imagine Fugo in Giorno's place here
