Magic Knights Entrance Exam Arc

• Yuno bluntly points out to Asta everything unappealing about him.
  "Because you're loud, short, obnoxious, and immature. Basically, you're not appealing to women in any way."
  • Made funnier in the anime with an arrow corresponding to each word and the last one causing Asta to fall to the ground in shame.
• This exchange between two young mages comparing their recently-obtained grimoires:
  Boy 1: Look! Mine's bigger!
  Boy 2: Mine's thicker though!
• Although it's saddening at the same time, Asta being the sole person still waiting for his grimoire with his hands stretched out and on one knee.
• Asta heroically jumping in to save Yuno from Revchi... only to gracelessly faceplant into a nearby wall. Yuno and Revchi just stare at him in silence.
  • In the anime, Asta gets back up and starts scolding two guys who are bound in Revchi's chains and completely helpless. They don't look impressed. Though in his defense, they were the ones who initially attacked Yuno.
• At the Magic Knights Examination, it's pointed out that the less mana you have the more anti-birds flock to you. Cue Asta covered in them from head to toe.
• Asta, being the only one in the kingdom who can't use magic, struggles to ride a broom to the incredulousness of everyone watching him.
• Yuno one-shots Salim, who thought he was an easy opponent because of his peasant background, in a single page.
• Asta asks Magna what a Magic Knight does despite wanting to join them in the first place. His reaction is understandably hilarious.
• Magna tells Asta to cut through the magical mist. Asta tells him that swords can't cut through mist, with Magna having to remind Asta that his sword can cut through any magic.
• Nero relentlessly pecks on Asta's head with a magic stone to his dismay.

Dungeon Exploration Arc

• Yami congratulates Asta, Noelle, and Magna for each obtaining a star. They're now at -30, only 100 behind Golden Dawn.
• Sekke getting stabbed with a bandit’s poisoned dagger. What follows is Sekke getting what looks like a serious death scene as he and Asta share a moment…only for Vanessa to point out the poison is just a mild irritant and thus harmless.
• Luck outright ditches his squadmates to go fight some strong enemies. When Klaus asks Asta and Noelle where he is they can only stay silent in embarrassment.
• Asta and Klaus getting on each others' nerves, Asta for being a peasant and Klaus for being a stuck-up four-eyes.
• Yuno straight-up lying that he would have been fine had Asta not saved him from Mars's gigantic crystal sword. An annoyed Asta calls him out for it:
  Yuno: [straight-faced with a sigh] Why did you do that? I almost had him…
  Asta: [worked up] Say what?! You liar! You're all beat up! You looked like you were gonna die!
  Yuno: [unchanged expression] I was just about to unleash a furious counterattack.
  Asta: [even more worked up] You're so completely lying! You always do that, you know!
• Asta points out the Clothing Damage Noelle suffers after fighting Mars, to her shrill embarrassment.

Royal Capital Assault Arc

• Yami doesn't open doors in the Black Bulls headquarters. Instead, he kicks them open with such force that they practically disintegrate into splinters of wood.
• After Yuno saves her food from falling, Charmy falls him in love with him, calling Yuno her "meal saving prince."

Eye of the Midnight Sun Encounter Arc

• Noelle follows Asta to his blind date. She fumes when Rebecca's sibling asks if she'll marry Asta, causing her to make all the water in customers' cups shoot up into the air. She later gets a job as a waitress to observe them, accidentally breaking a plate out of jealousy and shirking her work.
• Rebecca's siblings shipping her and Asta together, telling her she should "totally jump him tonight". Including the baby strapped to her back, who wakes up and gives her a thumbs up.
• Marie announces that she'll marry Asta, causing Gauche to turn into stone and crack.
  • Cue Noelle jealous over a Precocious Crush.
• Gauche tries to kill Asta in his sleep. Why? For meeting his sister.
• After Licht tells Yami his tragic backstory, Yami gives him his own origin story in order to show that he doesn't give a hoot about the villain's Freudian Excuse. The ending pretty much amounts to "I beat the crap out of those who gave me problems, and became the boss of my own group."
• After Asta successfully hits Valtos with the help of Ki, which Yami has just taught him, Yami reacts by pretending to be surprised that Asta can actually do it and calling him a creep.
• The Knight Captains awkwardly wait for the Wizard King to summon them for their meeting. Rill tries to liven things up by impersonating the other captains. It falls completely flat except for Yami who finds it hilarious, until Rill tries imitating Yami. Yami lashes out, eventually questioning if the Wizard King completely forgot about the meeting he summoned them for. The other captains dejectedly agree that it's entirely possible he forgot.

Underwater Temple Arc

• Noelle has problems picking a bikini to attract Asta's attention on the beach. Vanessa offers her one that's essentially string.
• At the beach Noelle tries to attract Asta's attention with wearing a bikini, but he is only interested in the beach being good physical training ground.
• When Noelle falls down from the air after using her new spell, with Asta catching her in a Bridal Carry. She gets embarrassed, slapping him in the anime.
  "Could you not touch me so casually?!"

Forest of Witches Arc

• Asta nervously asking the Wizard King for an autograph leads to this moment:
  Yami: (threateningly) Sure, let me sign it on your face.
  Asta: Gyaaaaaaah! Noooooo!
  Yami: Hey jerk, get nervous around me too.
  • Followed immediately by:
  Wizard King: (holds up Charmy) By the way Yami is this your daughter? When did you get a kid this big?
  Charmy: Gimmie something yummie.
  Yami: NO.
  • To Poizot (captain of the Purple Orcas):
  Yami: Also, you look like a boneless ham.
• Charmy claiming to be "sexy" and threatening to eat Sylph, who is also after Yuno's affections, with a knife and fork.
• When Asta's arms are broken Noelle offers to feed him, only to find Asta feeding himself with his feet grasping the necessary implements.
• Asta's arms are healed, prompting him to flex his muscles. A flustered Noelle then slaps him.
• Almost every scene involving Ladros, especially in the English dub.
• The Witch Queen provides an Info Dump on the elves. Asta, being the Idiot Hero that he is, can't keep up and has steam coming out of his head before falling down.

Royal Knights Arc

• After the Forest of Witches arc is resolved, many of the Black Bulls come back from their adventures with very different personalities and appearances. Magna waxes philosophical, Luck says he became one with the mana, Gache and Gordon became Otaku and Charmy is covered in mushrooms. They return to their normal selves after seeing Asta is all healed up.
• Yami wears a blue jacket and posses when announcing the Star Festival. The narrator being Comically Serious underscores it.
• Kahono's song at the Star Festival, "Asta the Superman" is actually about how he's loud, dumb and can't use magic "but still pretty swell".
• The reactions to the Black Bulls winning second place with the number of stars among all the squads. Cue shocked faces from everyone, even Nozel, with the members more surprised than anyone else. Special shoutout goes to Magna, whose sunglasses shatter out of sheer surprise.
• When Asta starts questioning the logic of the King being the one who picks who gets into the Royal Knights on the basis of the People having more faith In the Captains and The Magic Emperor rather than the King. He then continues to muse that he’s never heard of the king doing anything special despite being born with an obscene amount of mana to the king’s increasing frustration.
  Yuno: Asta. Read the room. You’re not supposed to tell the truth at a time like this.
• Mereoleona grabs Asta's head with her fire paw after eavesdropping on them, forcing him to join her & her group for a training session. Then she grabs Yuno, causing him to Break the Fourth Wall. Grabs Yami and Charlotte for not being there at the Grand Wizard Ceremony. And finally Noelle who is just unlucky enough to be passing by. As a result, the group outside the Crimson Lion are now at the Yultim Volcano Trail, aghast of everything that just happened to bring them here.
  Yuno: I'm not supposed to be this type of character…
  • The anime makes it even funnier, adding a scene where Mereoleona holds them all while walking through the door, with them getting stuck and dragged so hard the front of the bar gets destroyed.
• Charlotte imagines a naked Yami on the other side of the hot spring, causing her to faint head first into the water.
• Yami persuades Leopold and some other men to peep at the women's bath by invoking the whole "something you have to do if you're a man" and telling Leopold that he must "surpass" his older brother. Once they actually plan to do it, Yami's look just sells it.
• Yami questions as to why Yuno refuses to peep. Asta responds that Yuno isn't interested because since he was a kid he's only bathed with guys.
  Yuno: [visibly angry] Hey, Asta. Quit saying things people are going to misinterpret.
• While the Finral vs Langris match is full of Tear Jerkers and Nightmare Fuel, it does have one hilarious moment. Finral was smart enough to weaponize the Running Gag of Yami always getting caught taking a shit and killing people every time anyone walks into the bathroom at the Black Bull's base by forcibly teleporting them there. It's even funnier that he intended to beat Langris of all people this way but failed only because he hit Sekke instead.
  Yami: Yeah. I'm gonna kill you.
  Sekke: (Thinking) I... I'm dead meat!

Elf Reincarnation Arc

• During the fight between Julius and Licht in Episode 93: Julius's bored "Been in waiting lines more exciting than this" expression as he's being swung and raked all over the castle walls by his opponent's light whip. It's simultaneously badass and hilarious to watch.
• Gueldre and Revchi immediately reconciling over their shared dislike of Asta.
  • Later, as they're stuck inside the Shadow Palace in the middle of the battle against Zagred having just narrowly escaped death, Revchi complains about following Gueldre while being secretly grateful for his Permeation Magic. Meanwhile, Gueldre acts cool and composed even though he's internally freaking out about finding the exit before his Magic runs out.
• Charmy comes to the scene of the destroyed Black Bulls' hideout with a marking on her face, an army of sheep, and powerful mana, leading the others to think she's been possessed by an elf. She’s just angry her vegetable garden was ruined. The marking? Sauce that she promptly licks off.
• Finral making an awesome entrance by stopping Latry!Langris and sweeping Finnes off her feet, then getting a goofy looking face and sweating bullets when he realizes he's holding his First Love in his arms. Followed by Yami bitching about how Finral is trying to hard to take his spotlight and Jack being Ax-Crazy.
• Rades's completely unsuccessful attempts at getting the Black Bulls to join him in his Roaring Rampage of Revenge which include getting wrestled by Asta, ignored by Sally and Valtos, and forcefed by Charmy. He eventually settles for temporary Teeth-Clenched Teamwork instead.
• Patry!Licht having a serious moment about causing The End of the World as We Know It, only for the rest of the Black Bulls plus their Enemy Mine allies to drop in with their Humongous Mecha and try to figure out what the fuck was happening. None of them can shut up as they assess the situation (in their own stupid way) while Patry is fuming with rage. Yami, of course, ends up laughing his ass off almost the entire chapter while Jack stares in confusion.
  • The entire exchange in all its glory.
  (After jumping through a portal in a giant magic bull robot while screaming out to everyone on the battlefield, the Bull is standing there menacingly while everyone starts talking at once)
  Luck: (excited at the scene of carnage) Ah! The Captain, Noelle, and that Zora guy are all here! And Finral too... but he's knocked out.
  Asta: (At the top of his lungs) DID EVERYONE GET INTO A FIGHT HERE OR SOMETHING?! IS FINRAL OKAY?
  Henry: Whaaaaaaats Thaaaaaaaat Blaaaaack Caaaaaaastle?
  Rades: WHERE THE HELL IS LICHT?!
  Magna: SORRY TO KEEP YOU WAITING, YAMIIIIII!
  Luck: Gauche is possessed and standing on top of the enemy base.
  Gordon: (mumbling): We're coming to save you Gauche!
  Grey: H-hang in there!
  Charmy: FIRST THINGS FIRST, EAT UP EVERYONE!
  Jack: A huuuuge bull?
  Yami: HAHAHAHAHAH THAT'S ONE HELL OF AN APPEARANCE!
  Noelle: WHAT TOOK YOU ALL SO LONG!? You'd better be grateful that i kept us all in the fight by learning a new magic!! (Thinking: Ahhh, I was so lonely and scared!)
  Asta: WOOOOOAAH AAA NOELLE! WHAT'S WITH THAT COOL OUTFIT! IT'S SOOO COOL!!
  Magna: We're gonna be doing the protecting now so you ought to be thankful for us, damn you Noelle!
  Zora: Err.. Seriously? What in the heck is that thing!? It's absurd...
  Noelle: I have no idea either... not that I'm surprised... I'm kind of used to everything being absurd by now.
  • Made even better by the Black Bulls still acting goofy while smashing elves around immediately after this while Yami just stands there and laughs at the ridiculous amount of overkill and devastation. Meanwhile Jack wants to fight the Bulls now instead of the elves because it looks more fun.
• Noelle and Mimosa's reactions to Sally wearing Asta's clothes and his promise to let her examine his body.
• Mimosa's reaction to "combining" with Asta.
• Asta and Mimosa are all shocked to find out that Charmy's half-dwarf, with Charmy herself being more surprised than them.
• After Valtos uses his portals to save most of the mages from Zagred's spell, Rades tries to act like he was the one behind the action and tells Asta not to mistake this as redemption. Asta immediately points out that he barely did anything at all in the battle, to which Rades angrily tells him to shut up.
• Yami taking the opportunity to insult Gueldre even as they're narrowly escaping death.
• Much like most readers, Asta only recalls Revchi as "that grimoire-stealing rat fink from forever ago". He takes offense to that.

Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc

• Julius reintroduces himself to Asta, Noelle, Mimosa, and Nero… except now he's 13. Their reactions are all very amusing.
  • He get excited over Nero's unique Sealing Magic. It's even funnier than before now that he literally looks like a little kid geeking out.
• In Chapter 220, Yami visits Charlotte, to ask clarification about her former curse. However, she mistakes it as him confessing that he knows she's in love with him. Her immediate Freak Out has her leap out of bed, and run like a complete madwoman out of her squad headquarters, through the city streets, crashing through houses, couples, and fences, culimating in a massive splash onto the river where she was running so fast she ran on top of the surface of the river and managed to cross to the other side. While screaming the entire time.
  • Her embarrassment continues in the next chapter, when she confesses her feelings to her squad... and they all turn out to be a Shipper on Deck, and literally shove her in front of the completely oblivious Yami.
  • Even better, it's Asta who comes the closest to realizing Charlotte's feelings towards Yami, likening her to Noelle.
  • Charlotte's Freak Out is now animated. Just watch.
• Asta, Gauche, and Grey meet Gordon's family, who all have the same face as him, including their dog. They manage to creep them out so much that Gauche and Grey are traumatized and never want to go back to their house ever again.
• Finral is now trying to stop flirting with other girls to be worthy of Finnes. He soon freaks out when he realizes he's on a mission to investigate curses with Noelle, Mimosa, and Nero.
• Sekke's completely undeserved promotion. It has to be seen to be believed.
• William returns Yuno's previously-lost magic stone necklace, saying that Revchi had found it inside the Shadow Palace and given it to him — not out of the goodness of his heart, but because he was scared of what Yuno would do to him if he found out it was in his possession.
• Lolopechka is so clumsy that she trips on a flat surface. Asta thinks it's part of her curse, which Undine sadly clarifies is not the case.
• Finral still can't kick his old flirting habit, prompting him to use all his willpower to restrain himself from saying anything else once he realizes what he's doing.
• Charmy, atop her giant sheep, leads a group of gluttonous animals to steal food from a local village, prompting Asta and Rill to have to stop her. Her mentor Potrof's reaction seals it.
  "I may have created a terrible monster."
• Rill is revealed to have fallen in love with Charmy when she used his Food Magic to save him when he was possessed by Lira. Because she looks so different, he doesn't believe Asta when he tells him that it's Charmy, telling him that she wasn't as fat as Charmy, who's put on a ton of weight because of the Heart Kingdom's delicious food.
  Charmy: I'm not that fat. I'm pleasantly plump. The most popular type.

Spade Kingdom Raid Arc

• Despite the Anti-Magic Devil telling Asta that he'll kill him and the seriousness of the situation, Asta brings up how when they first talked he called him a shrimp, despite actually being just as short as him.
  Asta: Geez, c'mon, you're the one who's short!!! We're about the same height! How dare you fake like you were huge! I completely don't want to get my butt kicked by somebody like that.
  • There's also the fact that the first thing Asta says to his Devil is... a big thank you for giving him his help and magic all this time. Even when the Devil laughs and reminds Asta that he took his arm, Asta just points out that doing so was the terms of the deal that he agreed to.
• Asta tells Liebe he has an idea, with Liebe noting that when Asta gets like this his idea is sheer genius 10% of the time. His idea? Have Liebe sit on his shoulders and the two raise their hands with Asta yelling "COMBIIIIIINE!!" Liebe can only think that the other 90% of the time it's crap:
  Liebe: This is no time to screw around, you 90 percent idiot!
  Asta: I'm not screwing around!! Fighting like this will bring our hearts and bodies closer to being in unison—
  Liebe: If something like this could do that, we wouldn't be having trouble in the first place, 90 percent idiot.
  Asta: What's your problem?! You get to be on top, so quit whining!!
• On the last page of Chapter 273, you see the special assault force that will go to attack the Spade Kingdom to defeat the Dark Triad and save Yami and Vangeance. Among their ranks, you can spot a very nervous, sweating Sekke among the captains, Yuno, and Langris. Made even more hilarious with the anime, which revealed the king promoted him to 1st Class Senior Magic Knight for "saving" him during the elves' invasion, with all the captains, even Dorothy and Vangence of all people, to shoot a menacing glare at him in disapproval. Sekke must really be regretting it now.
• Sekke gets told by Jack to be serious about the mission while also being told that he's a loser. Nacht outright tells him that everyone here knows he has no skills and instead he should sacrifice himself for people who are right, to Sekke's utter horror.
• In the midst of the fight with Megicula, Noelle finally admits to herself that she loves Asta. Then after the fight she realises she has no idea how to actually talk to him now, and still defaults to being a Tsundere after having an internal Freak Out.
  • From the same scene, Nozel of all people undergoes a platonic version of the very same thing. Even though his sister has full context for his actions, and he can safely show affection again now that Megicula is dead, he has no idea how to do so, complete with an internal Freak Out just like his sisters.

The Ultimate Wizard King Arc

• At his promotion ceremony, Asta hypes himself up for his final confession to Sister Lily. Nero, who overheard him, informs Noelle and Mimosa that he plans to confess today, leaving both flustered at the thought it might be to them. Why did Nero do this? Because she finds messing with them fun, thinking as much to herself with her usual deadpan expression.
• Ryuya interrupts Asta and Ichika's fight, and the latter goes straight from being enraged at the foreigner to so ashamed at defying her shogun she offers to commit seppuku then and there.
• At the celebration for fending of Lucius's forces, a drunk Asta is invited to the hot springs by Daizaemon... and is scared sober upon see Ichika there as well, since the monk forgot that it's the girls turn in the baths.
  • Naturally, Asta expects violent retaliation similar to her brothers... only for the stoic Lady of War to shyly blush and cover herself!

Other

• In a manga bonus story Charmy dresses up as a detective, trying to solve who ate her cake, only to realize that she herself ate it in her sleep, with all the other members of the Black Bulls telling her so along the way.
• In the anime, many of the Petit Clover segments are pretty charming.
  • Noelle tells Asta that she's a royal, but Asta keeps confusing her for being a bandit, a pirate, and eventually family because he mishears her.
  • After Lotus saves Mars from the collapsing dungeon, Mars expresses his thanks, much to Lotus's surprise. Lotus then tries to get Mars to repeat multiple tongue twisters with Mars eventually getting frustrated by his inability to do so.
  • The segment in which Yuno celebrates Sylph's birthday. He tells her to blow out a candle, and she being the spirit of wind, the whole room gets blown away instead.
  • In one segment, Finral shows Asta what "Service Magic" is with a shot of Noelle and Mimosa in bikinis (an adapted version of a color spread that Tabata did a long while ago for Shounen Jump Giga 2016 Vol. 2). Just as the shot zooms out, a chibi version of Noelle pops up and gets angry at Asta.
• Opening 13 shows Noelle, Mimosa, Nero, and Lolopechka looking serious, then visuals of a happy Luck (as usual), a serious Leopold… and a now comically overweight Charmy.
