Berserk

  • Asta's Demon-Slayer Sword is one to Gut's Dragon Slayer. Both are giant black swords that are very similar in appearance. Asta himself is magic-less, has an inner devil, and keeps up with super powered beings using his incredible physical strength.
  • Like Serpico, Yuno is a pretty boy with the power of the wind spirit who serves as a rival to a more physically strong, large sword-wielder.
  • Vangeance's mask looks a lot like Griffith's while he's in the Band of Hawk and as Femto. It helps that both are mysterious white-haired men who lead a group of loyal followers. He is also the host of Licht, an ethereal white-haired villain.
  • Sol highly resembles pre-eclipse Casta in appearance. She even says she likes women with guts.
  • In Chapter 223, Gordon's sister gives Grey a Behelit. The eyes on it are closed at first and then open to Grey's horror.

Other

  • Asta's introduction to the Black Bulls is wildly similar to Lucy Heartfilia's introduction to Fairy Tail. The Black Bulls' Hideout even looks like Fairy Tail's Guild Hall.
  • Sylph is one to Tinker Bell. She's nicknamed "Bell", has a sassy personality, is a small fairy with insect wings who wears a green minidress, and is the companion to a teenage boy.
  • Episode 23 has the royal chef sprinkle salt exactly like the "salt bae" meme.
  • Tabata stated that he based the Third Eye's Evil Eye off of Hiei from YuYu Hakusho.
  • Episode 80 shows a Super Saiyan hairstyle as a hairdo for when Finral surpasses his limits.
  • Dante's name comes from the Dante of The Divine Comedy who journeys through hell.
  • Zenon is a high-ranking devil user and shares the same name as the demon king from Devilman.
  • Petit Clover has Asta imagine having quintuplet siblings.
  • In Chapter 250, with the power of a familiar created by her Food Magic, Charmy unleashes a barrage of punches while yelling "LAALAALAALAALAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
  • Jack the Ripper to Nnoitra Gilga. They're very similar in appearance, love bloodshed and fighting, have a praying mantis motif, and fight using scythe blades.
  • Dorothy, whose magic forms an imaginative dream world, shares the same name as the girl who ends up in a fantasyland.
  • The witch Elvira's name comes from the Mistress of the Dark.
  • During Episode 79, Brock can be seen in the background.
  • In Episode 82, Charmy eats a mushroom which causes her to have a drug-fueled dream. During the "Seven Faces Of Charmy" sections, we see Charmy dressed up as Santa Claus (Santa Charmy) while the sheep cooks' are both dressed as Rudolph. After she wakes up, she's seen wearing her Santa outfit and her sheep are still dressed as Rudolph.
  • Henry's Recombination Magic lets him rearrange the Black Bulls' hideout however he wants, and his last name is Legolant.
  • After making a bargain with the devil in his grimoire, Asta's right arm becomes a devil arm.
  • In a Petit Clover segment, Asta eats Naruto (the spiral fish cake) thrown at him.
  • In Chapter 268, among the devils in the underworld, Ryuk can be seen in the background.
  • Nacht's form when using his devil Gimodelo's power, which forms a dark coat and tricorn hat atop the rest of his outfit, is clearly inspired by the Hunter from Bloodborne.
  • In Episode 76, the Matsuno sextuplets can be seen in the background.
  • Episode 82 has omake clips, one of which features Charmy's "Sexy Transformation" that has her appearance modeled after Marilyn Monroe doing the famous maneuver from The Seven Year Itch.
  • Episode 153 has the king incorrectly recall how Sekke saved him during the elves' invasion, with Sekke sliding his motorcycle like in AKIRA.
  • In Episode 159, a Heart Kingdom villager states "A wild Charmy has appeared!"
  • During Episode 162, Dante's monologue of humans' true nature being evil has him mention rage, hatred, fear, revenge, and destruction with each corresponding illustration referencing a painting of Francisco de Goya.
  • Makusa uses his Snow Magic to create snowmen which is a reference to Snow Man, the Japanese boy band which sang the eleventh and thirteenth anime openings and whose member, Daisuke Sakura, Makusa is based off of.
  • Chapter 314 has the Black Bulls, against Lucifero's vessel for his manifestation, form the Ultra Giant Black Bull, a giant mech complete with a control room. It becomes doubly hilarious when you remember who Zora's English voice actor is.
