Magic Knights Entrance Exam Arc

• Chapter 1 has Asta, after hearing Yuno acknowledge him as his rival and the person who saved him when they were young, regain his determination after being told he has no magic whatsoever. This lets him manifest a grimoire, gaining a demonic shadow and anti-Magic sword to cut through Revchi's chains and easily defeat him.
• Yuno casually one-shots Salim, who had thought he would be an easy target due to his peasant status, with his Wind Magic. It's so impressive that he gets offers from every single Magic Knight Captain.
• After being looked down on by the other Magic Knights candidates for his lack of magic, Asta shows off his strength by easily defeating Sekke with his anti-magic sword. Although his powers are unusual and it seems at first that no Captain wants to recruit him, Yami takes a liking to him and he joins the Black Bulls, with Asta's dream of becoming a Magic Knight coming true.
• Motivated by a young girl asking her for help, Noelle regains her courage, gaining a new spell, after having had problems controlling her magic all her life, to form a giant dome to protect everyone.
• Inspired by Asta, Magna regains his confidence after being beaten down and works with Asta to defeat Heath to save the entire village.

Dungeon Exploration Arc

• Mars proves to be a incredibly powerful Wake-Up Call Boss, forcing the Black Bulls and the Golden Dawn to set their rivalry aside just to survive against him. Asta gains a new sword and Yuno unleashes new spells with the two rivals working in tandem. It's revealed that Asta's incredibly muscular for his age, giving him incredible durability that lets him withstand Mars's spell. He then attacks Mars and knocks him unconscious. Finally, Yuno gains the power of the wind spirit and uses it to finally finish him off.

Royal Capital Assault Arc

• Noelle is ridiculed by her brothers and sister for showing up to the Royal Capital. Asta stands up to Noelle's siblings for tormenting her and the rest of the nobles, giving them a well-deserved "The Reason You Suck" Speech as he fends off their attacks to their shock.
• What does Charmy do after Catherine barges in to her happily eating food? Form a gigantic ram that socks her with a Megaton Punch. It turns out the gluttonous, petite girl is much stronger than she looks.

Eye of the Midnight Sun Encounter Arc

• Gauche, who had been a loner and only cared for his sister due to his tragic past, decides to come back to help Asta and Sister Theresa. He learns a new spell to clone others, using it on Asta to duplicate him, with Asta's many clones using their anti-magic to cut down a monstrous Baro.
• Sally uses an unconventional method to easily block an attack from a Magic Squad Captain.
• The Licht vs Yami fight is equal parts Yami roasting everyone present and kicking Licht's ass. Licht brings up his tragic backstory and Yami mentions his to shut him up. Licht uses his magic to destroy the cave with a whip of light and Yami slices through debris with his sword and absorbs Licht's spells with his Dark Magic. Thanks to Finral, Gauche comes in with a giant mirror that reflects Licht's giant spell back at him.

Underwater Temple Arc

• The entirety of the Black Bulls combining all of their powers to fight Vetto. It's impressive when you take into account not only is Vetto a viciously powerful mage, but he's an Elf (Already stated to have overwhelming magical powers) and is currently using forbidden demon magic. And the Black Bulls, together, are capable of going toe to toe with him.
  • Noelle, motivated to save her friends, manages to overcome her mental block to cast her first offensive spell Sea Dragon's Roar, forming a dragon made of water that rips off the arm of Vetto. Said spell is so impressive the people of the Underwater Temple call her a Sea Goddess.
  • Vanessa and Finral's teamwork with Asta, using puppeteering and portals to have Asta fight Vetto. Vanessa seals Asta's injury using her strings to let him keep fighting. Asta pierces his sword into Vetto to sap his magical strength, with Asta then using his other sword to finally defeat him. Even better is that Asta throws his own words back into Vetto's face. The entire fight he has been telling them to despair and now Asta is the one telling him to despair.
  • As Vetto is about to blow everything up, Yami comes in to save the day, using a new spell that unleashes a huge vertical slash to stop Vetto's self-explosion and cut him in half.

Forest of Witches Arc

• While usually Overshadowed by Awesome, Lotus repeatedly proves himself to be one of the most competent mages of the Diamond Kingdom, almost succeeding in launching a surprise attack against William Vangeance.
• Vangeance's World Tree Magic is this, covering the entire city in a tree to capture enemies and stop their attacks, showing his position as the captain of the best squad to be well-deserved.
• Fana shows off the sheer destructive power of her Flame Magic combined with the spirit Salamander, unleashing gargantuan blasts of fire.
• Kudos to Dominante and Mariella for managing to organize a good counter attack against the forces of the Diamond Kingdom.
• When the Devil in Asta's grimoire tries to take over his body by convincing him to give up, Asta staunchly refuses, essentially telling him to screw off, and takes his power for himself to become Black Asta.
• Black Asta vs Ladros, made more impressive by the fact that despite absorbing the Flame Spirit's Magic, Ladros is still on the receiving end of a Curbstomp Battle.
• The majority the spells used by the Witch Queen are incredibly powerful, being rivaled only by the Elves.
• After enduring enough of the Witch Queen's abuse as a child, Vanessa tells her that the Black Bulls are her family and uses her Red Threat of Fate powers to create her cat familiar, Rouge. It then proceeds to foil the Witch Queen's plans.

Royal Knights Arc

• After being a joke among the Magic Knights for so long, it's cathartic to have the Black Bulls rank number 2 in the rank ceremony, just under the elite Golden Dawn! In fact, if it wasn't for their negative stars they culminated before Asta & Noelle joined the group, they would have been the first in the group. Nozel's stunned expression adds onto it.
• Asta realizes his lack to mana is an utter negative against the harsh environment for the first time. Instead of relying on his willpower to climb up the mountain, he follows Mereoleona's words to know himself and logically dissect his accumulated strength that enable him to climb up. The result, an unstable but effective anti-mana skin that utilizes his ki. Only the captains are there when he reaches the top.
• After years of abuse at the hands of her brother Solid, Noelle uses her Sea Dragon's Rose to one-shot him in the tournament.
• When Langris is about to kill Finral at the Royal Knights Exam, the Black Bulls come in immediately to save him, with Asta, Magna, and Luck pointing their weapons at him and the others nearby with their grimoires out. An angered Luck's chilling voice in the anime makes it even better.
• Team B vs Team G. Zora activates a magical trap on his body to reflect Langris's spells back, and Asta enters his Black Asta form. Asta refuses to cower to Langris and slams his sword into his stomach and destroys his team's crystal, ending the match in a draw.
• Team I facing off against Team P has Yuno and Rill battling it out. Rill draws amazing creations like a giant wyvern, whole Yuno uses his new Spirit Dive, combining with Sylph to increase his magic power.
  • The anime expands on the fight for fans' viewing pleasure.

Elf Reincarnation Arc

• Gueldre and Revchi team up against all odds to fight off an elf, effortlessly defeating him thanks to the combination of their magics.
• Mereoleona vs Rhya. The entire fight is a Curbstomp Battle in Sisgoleon's favor. Made even better by her physical abilities being stronger than Vetto's, leaving Rhya in disbelief that the person he's fighting is human at all.
• Henry's debut via turning the Black Bulls' base into a Humongous Mecha. It gets even better as the rest of the Bulls start to develop better teamwork over the course of the battle, giving it more weapons and powers.
• Julius vs Licht. He shows off the true power of a Wizard King with Time Magic, stopping most of Licht's attacks and avoiding them as he moves through air, with Licht using his Light Magic, the fastest of the attributes, to keep up in a visual spectacle.
• Asta and Yuno fighting together. They easily take out the elves in Klaus's and Hamon's bodies, then face off against a newly-awakened Licht. Licht reclaims his sword and sends a barrage of sword slashed that send them flying, with Asta injured and sinking into the water. Yuno and Licht take the fight airborne, with Yuno unleashing a blast of spirit mana at him that he absorbs. Just in time, Asta regains his Black Asta form to fly up into the air to fight with Yuno and them charging. Licht deflects their attack and unleashes a giant blast, sending them crashing down defeated.
  • This fight is made even better in the anime, with many fans praising it to be the best episode in Black Clover.
• The Black Bull's most powerful weapon. The Asta Cannon. Guess what it uses for ammunition.
• After spending almost 100 Chapters incapacitated, Fuegoleon returns to save his brother's life by not only channeling his magic and replacing his lost arm with a flaming one, but also inherits, tames, and controls Salamander, one of the four Elemental Spirits.
• In chapter 176 we get a bunch from Noelle. First she fills a space the enemy set up to disrupt magic control with water almost drowning the enemy and forcing the elf to drop the spell resulting in her being taken down by Nozel. Later after the elf comes back and takes out Nozel and set up the magic distortion field again, Noelle gets a new spell; the Valkyrie Armor. A spell that looks just like a spell her late mother once used to effectively combat the elf.
• Zora comes in at just the right time to use his Trap Magic to save Solid and defeat an elf by himself, despite having the magic power of a peasant, in the process.
• Nozel subdues a rampaging Dark Elf Patry by manipulating his Mercury Magic to be effective against Light Magic and creating a gigantic cage out of mercury, showing why he's the Silver Eagles' Captain.
• Mereoleona and Fuegoleon facing off against the elves. Mereoleona goes toe to toe with Vetto, knocking him out with a Deliberate Injury Gambit, while Fuegoleon deactivates his Salamander to bypass the elf's Vortex Magic and defeat him, all while praising each other as siblings.
• Charmy, after being seemingly defeated, manifests her newfound Food Magic, turning her giant sheep into a wolf that eats other magic. She soon turns the tables around against Lira, eating his paintings and then punching him into defeat.
• The resolution of a five hundred old tragedy that was the elf massacre thanks to the machinations of the Word Devil. After the truth is revealed, and the real Licht and the first Wizard King return, they alongside a remorseful Patry, Asta, Yuno, Yami and the elf Carla work together to defeat the Word Devil.
  • The final battle is itself an spectacle with Yami first grievously wounding the Devil with a dark magic dimension slash that puts his previous showings to shame, but then Asta spurred on by Secre/Nero's encouragement ascends to a new level of control and strength through anti-magic and destroys the devil with an enhanced Demon-Dweller Sword slash.
• Some of the characters, including villains, have noteworthy Big Damn Heroes moments as the Shadow Palace starts collapsing.
  • When Lemiel's protective spell disappears, Valtos opens a portal and drops several Magic Knights and elves on top of Asta and Yuno, having saved their lives.
  • Yami and Charla find themselves stuck at the bottom with no way to reach the top of the palace. After detecting Gueldre's ki in a nearby passageway, Yami manages to grab both Revchi and him, and cuts a hole through Zagred's spell while Revchi pulls the four of them up with his chains.

Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc

• Gaja shows off the power of one of the strongest mages in the Heart Kingdom, forming thunderclouds above to unleash True Lightning Magic using runes.
• Nero comes in with the save, diving into Undine's water to free Asta from his shackles using her Sealing Magic.
• Asta shows off his new badassery after six months, almost effortlessly defeating the entirety of the fortress's Spade Kingdom forces, with the end of the chapter showing the giant shadow of his devil.
• A subtle one, but Noelle is seen using her Valkyrie Armor and Sea Dragon's Lair while going through a Strong Magic Region, a huge change from the girl who couldn't aim her magic properly in the beginning of the story. Asta even notes how much she's grown.
• Yuno has become the Vice Captain of Golden Dawn, finally earning the respect he deserves after being looked down on for his peasant background. His squad, in turn, now respects him as a brilliant Magic Knight in regardless his status.
• Yuno, angered by his squadmates' defeat, takes down Gaderois with a single slash of his Spirit of Zephyr after breaking through his stone defenses.
• Yami uses Mana Zone to keep up with Dante, whose Gravity Magic and power of Lucifero had practically made him unstoppable up to this point. So much that he gives him a serious wound that Dante had to use his second magic to heal himself.
• Luck using his newly learned True Lightning Magic to turn into a lightning bolt and pierce through Svenkin, who had been bragging the entire fight about his Skin Magic being indestructible.
• Leopold, who may seem hot-headed and muscle-brained, tricks his opponent into not noticing his giant array, which he uses to cast True Flame Magic to form a huge blast of fire, hurting the guy who had bragged about never feeling pain. He then beats him by locating his enemy using his screams of pain.
• Charmy even shows off her new skills, trapping Halbet into a kitchen made out of her array to eat her magical hair and defeat her with a barrage of magically-enhanced punches, shouting the entire time.
• Lolopechka uses her Mana Method and magic to form a gigantic dome of water. Noelle's new Valkyrie Armor — Mermaid Form turns her into a lance-wielding mermaid made for fighting underwater, letting her hold her own against Vanica, quite possibly one of the strongest characters in the story seen thus far.
• Asta and Yami vs. Dante. After making a devil with his devil to gain more powerful anti-magic through his arm, he helps his captain against Dante, with the two synchronized with each other and slicing Dante's limbs with their swords. The battle cumulates with Yami destroying Dante's giant torso and then passing off his katana to Asta, who coats it with his new arm in anti-magic to slice through Dante's regenerated body to finally defeat him before his new power runs out.

Spade Kingdom Raid Arc

• Asta vs. Liebe. One-armed and using Yami's katana, he holds his own against Liebe who uses the anti-magic swords against him. He draws on the fighting styles of the magic swordsmen he's fought with, emulating Kiato and Yami's movements. Without any anti-magic and relying only on his physical ability, Asta gains the upper hand and defeats him, showing how much he's grown as a fighter since the beginning of the story.
• There is a heavy implication that Liebe willed his Anti-Magic power into existence so he could take his revenge on Lucifero and the entire devil race.
• Nacht's devil form is easily the most sleek and cool-looking out of all the devil hosts seen thus far, giving him a tricorn hat with devil horns, feathered collar, long dark coat, and claws for his hands clearly inspired by Bloodborne.
• How does Mereoleona make her first appearance after the time skip? By punching out a giant ancient demon and then announcing to the Spade Kingdom Resistance that she'll be lending them a hand.
• Yuno's rematch against Zenon after being brutally defeated before. He manifests his full Spirit Dive form and uses a new spell Spirit of Boreas, forming a cool halberd and overpowering Zenon's Spatial Magic to pierce through his defense and blow a hole in his chest, returning his words that him and Langris would die before they even made him take a single step, telling Zenon "You were talking to the wrong guy."
• Charlotte vs Vanica. Modifying her own curse into an anti-magic spell, Charlotte reveals her True Briar Magic: Queen of Briars and traps the bloodthirsty Vanica in a prison using her own curse against her, thus denying her the "fight" she seeks.

  Charlotte: Ridiculous woman like you... ...are not my thing. Die without getting your wish. That is my punishment for you!!

  • As Rill realizes, Charlotte became captain without using her full powers due to said curse.
• Jack was able to land a critical cut on Dante in spite of the latter's enhanced and stronger regenerative Body magic, cutting through gravity in the process!
• Morris, thanks to Vanica, absorbs Lolopechka's wisdom as the Heart Princess to accelerate the Tree of Qliphoth's process. Therefore, opening the first gate to the Underworld and releasing demons in the process... including two devils of the highest order!
• As a follow-up, the Dark Triad who were having trouble including Zenon who was using his maximum 70% of his Devil's power and still losing to Yuno; they can now use 100%!
• As one of the Ancient Demons go to destroy the Clover Kingdom capital, every other knight not in the Spade King assault team try to stop its destruction in spite of the strength difference.
  • The entire Purple Orcas team, a Token Evil Teammate squad known for its corruption lead by Kaiser, use all their power into the latter's Vortex Magic to fend it off while the others such as En, Sol, and Puli evacuate the citizens.
  • Kirsch and Nebra use their own magic to try to shield the capital from the demon, only for said demon to fire a large blast through their Cherry Blossom and Mist Magic... Only for it to be deflected by Solid's strongest spell Sea Serpent's Bellow! It turns out after six months since being outshined by Noelle, he's been training to improve!
  • Julius manages to seek assistance from Damnatio who stood in the background during the Elf Invasion to defend the kingdom and also managing to go back to his current age and strongest self to work together to negate the demon's magic. Unfortunately, Julius's accelerating back into his prime self lasted for 10 seconds... and everyone can see his current predicament!
  • Just as the demon is ready to destroy the capital along with Julius and everyone else, we get a Call-Back from the first chapter of the series.
  "In this world, magic is everything."
  • Right on cue, Asta with Liebe arrives in front of Julius and they are ready to fight the demon with their new form... Devil Union!
• Just as hope seems lost for Nacht, who sacrificed two of his devils to try and seal away Lilith and Naamah but got utterly curb-stomped by them, cue Asta arriving and cleanly slicing off Naamah's hand.
• Magna, who is normally hot-headed, not only put Dante and Lucifero in a very tough spot, but he fooled them until Dante runs out of magic.
  • To put this into perspective, because it might be the whole arc's Crowning Moment of Awesome, Magna is a Weak, but Skilled mage who was victim of a serious case of Can't Catch Up toward the rest of the Bulls due to his limited magical power and his trait being fire, a very common and straightforward power. He's been Put on a Bus for a while now, due to his need for training, but the exact nature of said training was never explained. He arrives just in time to save Jack, but his power is so unimpressive that Dante refuses to even acknowledge him and gives him a freebie as a proof that he has nothing to fear. So Magna reveals the fruit of his training: Soul Chain Deathmatch, an Awesome, but Impractical fire spell using complex arrays that must be prepared months in advance and links the combatant so that their power is divided equally by half between them. Then, using nothing but his fists and grit, he pummels Dante into submission.
• By joining forces with Undine, Noelle unlocks her newest power-up: Spirit Dive: Saint Valkyrie Armor!
• As a testament to the devils' constant scheming against each other, Megicula reveals it has a plan to get the leg up on Lucifero and manifest directly into the human world without need for the Tree of Qliphoth: a spell called Malevolent Femcantation. All it needs is to consume three powerful souls all of the same sex. It's already consumed Noelle's mother Acier and now has taken Vanica's soul. If it manages to kill Lolopechika, an actual devil will descend on humanity way sooner than expected! Worse, its Curse Warding Magic: Decaying World is dissolving any spell they can throw at it!
• But then the wizards show what they're made of. With help from Asta, Rill, and Charlotte, it's the Silva siblings, Nozel and Noelle, who pull off the unbelievable. A re-invigorated Noelle charges Megicula and gets dangerously close. But just as Megicula stops her short...Nozel steps in and unleashes sixteen years of pent-up anguish and rage at the devil that took the life of their mother. When Nozel's finished, Megicula is stripped to just its heart. But before it can even use that to regenerate, Noelle strikes the final blow. The release of Acier's soul confirms the victory. A Supreme-class Devil has just gone down!
• After a hard struggle against Zenon to the point of being beaten, Yuno acquires a new grimoire and magic attribute. He is not only able to use Star Magic due to him being royalty, but he also uses his Wind Magic to fight against Zenon. Eventually, Yuno defeats him with a 100% Saint Spirit of Zephyr Spell after the sword reaches Saint Stage. Keep in mind that Zenon killed half of the Golden Dawn members and broke Yuno to the point that he started crying. Yuno has become a badass after taking Zenon down with two grimoires at his disposal!
• Asta unites with Liebe and brings out his Fourth Sword Demon Slasher. He uses it to pull off a Demon-Slasher Infinite Slash: Equinox to split apart Lucifero and freeing Captain Yami and Captain William Vangeance in the process. Asta then says that the Demon-Slasher chooses what to cut and it can't cut anything that it wants to protect.

The Ultimate Wizard King Arc

• As Yuno slowly catches up to Lucius, the latter finds himself puzzled that Yuno's growth surpassed his predictions. According to Lucius, the version of Yuno that would've been the most powerful belonged to a world where the Spade Kingdom rebellion never took place and he grew as its prince, taking years to master his Star Magic. And yet, the Yuno he's fighting right now has been able to grow even stronger than that in the one year since the Spade Kingdom Raid. Likewise, Lucius notes how the rest of the combatants either should've died by now or never became this powerful in any of the futures he foresaw. As a horrified Lucius realizes he cannot accurately predict the future in this timeline, Yuno provides the answer to his conundrum: he cannot predict the future because this is a world that has been shaped by Asta's indomitable will. All the people Lucius and his Paladins are fighting have been inspired by Asta to surpass their own limits, and Lucius failed to account for that. Though this moment would somewhat become a Negated Moment of Awesome when it turns out Lucius actually tricked Yuno with a clone and he fully accounted for being unable to predict the future anyways.

Anime-Only

• The animation for Episode 151 is downright fantastic with the Battle of the Magic Knights Squad Captains. The captains let loose with everything they've got: Vangeance forms a giant tree that saps his opponents' magic, Fuegoleon rides Salamander and unleashes giant blasts of fire that burn nearly everything they touch, Nozel again forms his giant silver cage and combining his magic with Kaiser's, Charlotte shows off her Briar Magic with a giant barrier of thorns, Jack moves at incredible speeds to slice everything in his path and even spin to turn himself into a slicing wheel, and Dorothy uses her Glamour World. The fight ends with each team combining their magics in a grand display, with Yami using Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash — Equinox to slice through Dorothy's Glamour World and accidentally destroying both teams' crystals in the process.
