Uzumaki Naruko: To the Victor the Spoils V2

After defeating Toji Mizuki, Naruko moves into his clan compound due to an old clan law and is placed on a team of ninja beginning her journey to become Hokage.
This work contains examples of:
- Action Girl: Naruko is shown to get much more skilled in Ninjutsu as the story progresses as well as becoming stronger physically using powerful Taijutsu attacks. Ino and Hinata as well once they undergo proper training and Hinata branches out further than just her clan techniques.
- Adaptational Backstory Change: Being a completely different gender along with the fanon staple of the Shinobi and Civilian Councils have Naruko going through a different life than what normally was. Biggest of this is that due to an attack with a poisoned blade, she is no longer capable of getting pregnant unless treated by a medic nin of Tsunade's level.
- Adaptational Sexuality: In canon, to go along with his Gender Bender, Naruto was completely heterosexual as was Ino only for both to change to bisexual in this work. Anko's sexual attraction wasn't disclosed, but made blatantly bisexual here. Even Hinata switches from a Single-Target Sexuality to a lesbian.
- Aggressive Submissive: Ino is usually her canonical assertive self, but if she's flirted with or even approached in a sensual manner, she completely falls to her knees, figuratively and literally. This is actually very serious as Ino could be made into a Sex Slave that could divulge sensitive information.
- Alternate Universe Fic: Events unfold very differently from canon, as many characters are in different teams and act differently toward the protagonist, as well as various new fights occurring during the Chunin Exams.
- Battle Harem: Naruko gains the affection of many female ninja throughout the story. Naruko's team consists solely of fellow kunoichi, Ino, and Hinata, both of whom develop feelings towards her.
- Black Sheep: Downplayed; Hinata is considered this within the Hyuuga clan due to the fact that her primary element is water as opposed to the hyuuga clan normally being earth or fire. This is what makes learning the Jyuken so hard for her as the grounded style of the art is based on earth elemental chakra. It is noted that her mother was also a water element user and thus in this continuity is the one who developed the Jyuho derivative which bases itself on more on more fluid movements.
- Both Sides Have a Point: Anko, completely naked, gives a health lesson to Naruko and Ino by saying that their respective criticism of the other's dietary choices, Naruko who eats mainly instant ramen is hypertension waiting to happen while Ino is nowhere near meeting the necessary caloric or macronutrient intake necessary for an average person, let alone an active kunoichi, have merit.
- Break the Haughty: The first round of the Chunin Exam Finals sees Hinata teach Neji that the Jyuho, which she spent the past month learning under her father, can act as a hard counter to the Jyuken, with her matching him blow for blow, countering all of his techniques, even switching to the standard Jyuken to match him strike for strike in the Hakke Rokuju Yonshō. The match culminated in a Victory by Endurance match between Neji's Hakke: Kaiten and Hinata's Shugohakke Rokuju Yonshō. Hinata won, allowing her to land an incapitating blow that won her the match.
- Crazy-Prepared: After learning from Dosu and Kin about Orochimaru's upcoming invasion, Sarutobi and Jiraiya went all out preparing, setting up counters to Orochimaru's summons and making preparations for Jiraiya and Tsunade to help Sarutobi face Orochimaru.
- D-Cup Distress: Downplayed with Hinata, who is noted to be the biggest among the rookie kunoichi and the genin overall, but doesn't really care about them unless attention is brought into it, such as her younger sister Hanabi or Ino asking what her diet is to gain such gifts.
- Deliberate Values Dissonance: This fic treats the line where shinobi are considered legal adults with more seriousness than a throwaway line to the point that almost no one in the shinobi forces bats an eye at Naruko, who is still the canonical age of 12-13 being in an in intimate relationship with Anko, a woman twice her age, other than Kurenai who had a civilian mother. The only reason Sarutobi has any form of reservations is because he sees Naruko as a granddaughter.
- Kin has trouble understanding why Haku and Tomoe are so comfortable as fellow Spoils of Naruko.
- Distaff Counterpart: The entire story revolves around Naruko, who is a replica of Naruto except for being female.
- Does Not Know Her Own Strength: A variant in that Naruko is such a natural dom that she was able to completely dominate two injutsu specialists, that is ninjas that specialize in Honey Pot tactics.
- Fiery Redhead: Naruko herself partakes in this, particularly when she attacks Sakura furiously.
- Harem Genre: Being the center of affection for a large group of girls, Naruko has several girlfriends including Tenten, Hinata, and Ino.
- Heteronormative Crusader: Being raised by a civilian, Kurenai has less than progressive views on the whole which Anko calls her out on, stating that in their line of work, they really can't be choosy as to who they are attracted to.
- Made a Slave: The Spoil System does this to captured enemy combatants implemented by the Second Hokage. Interestingly, Haku, Tomoe and Kin becoming Naruko's spoils means that they're safe from any machinations from Konoha's civilian faction as the Uzumaki are NOT official citizens of Konoha which keeps the three from becoming Breeding Slaves.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The first and most important clue that someone brainwashed Kiba is that he becomes a total misogynist despite his own mother and sister giving him good reasons not to be.
- Polyamory: While Naruko serves as the nucleus of the relationship, some scenes do show that Ino and Hinata are becoming comfortable with the situation enough to consider the other in a more than platonic manner.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: Anko. Who is more than happy to enter the shared dining room of Team 8 completely naked in order to teach the girls a lesson on what is considered proper weight management for what pretty much constitutes an active soldier.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Haku and Zabuza survive the Wave mission and are brought to the Leaf by Naruko as POWs/servants.
- Dosu and Kin, who surrender to Konoha after Zaku gets himself killed, thereby preventing Orochimaru from using them for his Edo Tensei.
- Straw Civilian: Discussed, along with the implications of Armies Are Evil. While Konoha does have a divide between the Civilian and Shinobi councils, to the point that they act not to dissimilar to rival parties in a two-party political system, Temari and Kankuro note that it's the most progressive of the villages and the others, at least in this fic, have physical and societal, that is to say a caste system, barriers between the shinobi and civilians.
- Take That!:
- A minor one to fanfics that name the solid henge that Naruto is capable of doing as Kage Henge (Shadow Transformation), calling the name bland and generic. Instead, it's given the name Kohenkyo no Jutsu (Fox Switch Deception Technique), although whether or not it's a Shout-Out to Digimon — specifically Renamon who uses the technique — is unknown.
- One is given to the Clan Restoration Act by acknowledging the Double Standard. While males would gain harems, females would be made to dole out the bloodline limits as Breeding Slaves.
- The Talk: A variant, while Naruko was given the barebones lecture of the birds and the bees, she was not allowed to attend the lessons that would teach the basics of Honey Pot techniques that Anko, who had Sarutobi issue an official order to avoid any complaints that Kurenai may have had, gave her the full course up to and included "practical" lessons.
- Too Dumb to Live: Zaku of the Sound Trio is still insistent on defeating Sasuke as ordered by Orochimaru, despite the fact that they were soundly defeated by the Konoha genin that they have even less of a chance as they are now. When mentions this by Kin as well as the fact that Orochimaru would most likely already have a Fate Worse than Death lined up for them; Zaku refuses to believe her to the point that Dosu, a self-admitted misogynist, is tired of it, after which they knock Zaku out and defect to the Hidden Leaf, leaving Zaku to his fate as one of the many forests' creatures as their meal.
- Too Hot for TV: After having the original story, V1 so to speak, deleted for having explicit Lemon scenes, he would later post these on AO3 who have a more forgiving, if not permissive, attitude towards them.
- Wardrobe Malfunction: Played for Laughs when Sasuke loses his shorts during an exercise.
- Worthy Opponent: Following their match in the Chunin Exam Finals, Sasuke confesses that he enjoyed his battle against Rock Lee.
