Kingdom Hearts the Frozen Journey is an Alternate Universe multi crossover by Spiderfan626 set after the events of Kingdom Hearts III. In this version of the Kingdom Hearts universe Sora is actually the twin brother of Elsa from Frozen he is kidnapped at a young age by The Master of Masters to fulfill his destiny in the prophesied Keyblade War. After the events of Kingdom Hearts III and his battle with Yozora, Sora finds a strange blue glowing stone and attempts to use its' power to return home. Instead of being taken back to Destiny Island Sora is instead transported back to his birthplace Arendelle reuniting with his long-lost family. Alongside a new team Sora must race against the agents of Thanos to collect the six Infinity Stones and once more save all the worlds.
Kingdom Hearts The Frozen Journey contains examples of:
- Alternate Universe: In this story Sora never visited Arendelle in KH III due to it being sealed away in the Black Box.
- Big Damn Heroes: When Anna is about to be killed by Proxima Midnight she is saved by the arrival of the Spirits who help drive off the Black Order.
- Bigger on the Inside: The Black Box is revealed to contain its own universe made up of worlds that were locked away from the main Kingdom Hearts universe.
- Deadpan Snarker: Spider-Man.
- End of the World as We Know It: Thanos' goal is to wipe out half of all life to impress Death. Also because all Princesses of Heart besides Kairi passed on their powers after the events of Kingdom Hearts 6 new bearers have been chosen, unfortunately 4 of them now reside on worlds inside the Black Box upsetting the balance between Light and Darkness and threatening the collapse of both universes.
- Enemy Mine: Despite being Ambiguously Evil the Foretellers have aided Sora on his journey to collect the Stones. Gula even takes on Yozora to allow Sora to escape.
- For Want Of A Nail: Thanks to Sora's unexpected return Elsa stops shutting herself away in fear of her powers, meaning that her relationship with Anna is much warmer than it initially was in canon.
- Thanks to Sora defeating Darth Maul, allowing him to be interrogated, the Jedi learn of the Sith plot to use the Clones against them which inturn allows them to take action to prevent Order 66.
- Guns Akimbo: Rex continues to dual wield his DC-17 hand blasters.
- Mêlée à Trois: During the hunt for the Infinity Stones Sora and co often find themselves fighting against both Thanos' Black Order and the local villains of the world while they also fight over possesssion of the stones, meanwhile the Foretellers are also seeking the stones to free the Master of Masters and finally there is Yozora who is still tracking Sora.
- Off Screen Moment Of Awesome: The reason Thanos is sealed away? He was defeated by the Master of Masters during the Keyblade War, and this is DESPITE Thanos having the Infinity Stones!
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Sora's new team includes Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Marshmallow, Kristoph and Sven from Frozen and later grows to include Spider-Man and Captain Rex.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Thanos is initially held captive within a hidden chamber in the Keyblade Graveyard where he is found by Maleficent.
- Ship Tease: Elsa and Peter have a more than a few awkward moments.
- Shout-Out: The story contains quite a few references to other works.
- Sora says "I'm with you until the end of the line" to prove who he is to Elsa.
- During their childhood Sora is practicing painting and draws a dog's butt and when the instructor gives him a Blank Stare Sora yells "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND MY VISION!"
- Spared by the Adaptation: The King and Queen of Arendelle do not die at sea in this story.
- Surprise Incest: Played for Laughs. When Anna first sees Sora she is very taken with him much to Elsa's dismay. Luckily Anna learns of their relation before making any moves on him but that doesn't stop Elsa teasing her about it later.
