Card
Captor Harry, by Shadow Crystal Mage, is a Fusion Fic of Cardcaptor Sakura and Harry Potter, in which Harry Potter is chosen as Master of the Clow Cards.
The original one-shot Harry Potter and the Magic Book: Release! tells the same story albeit with some differences.
There are several deviations from the Harry Potter books including the future lover for Harry. Shadow Crystal Mage plans to go to the Seventh Year for this story. However, the third story had not been updated in a long time.
Applied Tropes
- A Day In The Lime Light: Chapter 13 is almost entirely from Fei's point of view, and lends itself to her perspective.
- All Love Is Unrequited: Ginny and Harry's relationship is a reflection of Touya and Mirror's relationship, only it is Ginny who is in love with Harry or who she believes to be Harry.
- Ascended Extra: The Clow Cards actually have personalities in this fic.
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Fei and Harry. Out of all people who actually snaps him out of his stupor from losing his Nimbus 2000, it's Fei. They also seemed to not hate each other as much as they and the rest of the school claimed as noted that Harry didn't include Fei in the list of people he would be intentionally cruel to. Also, Fei was worrying over Harry when the latter lost his Nimbus 2000 though she would not admit it.
- The Bet: Most of the school (which apparently includes the professors) make bets on Harry and Fei, their shouting matches, and Winter finding out the truth of said fighting as she's the last person in the entire school to not know.
- Cargo Ship: The Clow Cards seem to be this In-Universe for Harry, or at least the female ones.
- Chick Magnet: If you count the female Clow Cards, then Harry is a stellar example - his acquired cards, once called back after fulfilling their task, stop to kiss him before they vanish.
- Conspiracy Theorist/Properly Paranoid: Kero is extremely suspiscious of the Ministry Of Magic and is, 95% of the time, obsessed with absolute secrecy.
- Composite Character:
- Winter has both Yukito/Julian and Tomoyo's characteristics.
- Alternately, Ron and Hermione have some of Tomoyo's tactics for matchmaking by messing with Harry.
- Covert Pervert:
- Harry occasionally catches himself thinking of doing.... stuff with the Cards and writes lemon fanfiction.
- Hermione is quite possibly the biggest pervert in the school - apparently, she's on the same level as Jiraiya. Despite being a third year.
- Drives Like Crazy: Harry, when using the Dash and Jump Cards, makes Kero completely freak out and dramatically embrace the ground when it's over.Kero: "GROUND! OH SWEET TERRA FIRMA, I'M NEVER LEAVING YOU AGAIN!!"
Harry: "You can fly, you know that?"
Kero: "I'M NEVER LEAVING YOU AGAIN EXCEPT UNDER MY OWN POWER!" - Early-Bird Cameo: Even if it's dialogue-only, Eriol, Nakuru, and Spinal Sun came around the end of Card Captor Harry: Hong Kong.
- Everyone Can See It:
- Harry and Winter. Well, Winter is Oblivious to Love and Harry is pining so it's one-sided when it comes to the two.
- To a lesser extent, for caring for each other, Harry and Fei. However they deny any signs of ever admiring each other. The shouting matches are still a sign, to Hogwarts, of their hatred.
- Expy: Fei Lee basically takes Syaoran's place in the story. Also, Winter Moon stands in for Yukito/Julian, being a Ravenclaw of Harry's year.
- Foe Romance Subtext: Played for Laughs with Harry and Fei. After a few days of withdrawal, they actually catch themselves fantasizing about their shouting matches.
- Foregone Conclusion: It's pretty much a given that Harry will be the Card Master when the Final Judgment comes to an end and that he'll be transforming the cards into his own.
- Fusion Fic: Although really, it's mostly just Harry Potter with elements of Cardcaptor Sakura.
- Gratuitous Japanese: the usernames for Harry and Winter's fanfiction author profiles - Raijinkage the Writer-sama and Tsuki no Tenshi, respectively.
- "Groundhog Day" Loop/Groundhog Peggy Sue: Briefly during the first few chapters, and justified because of the Time Card.
- Irony: Fei Lee loves the fanfic author Raijinkage the Writer-sama, whom is actually Harry.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Sometimes there are comments toward the nature of the source materials.
- Male Gaze: It's more for the looks than the arse when the boys saw Fei Lee for the first time.
- Mind Rape: What the Dementors do by their very presence - the severity of the Mind Rape is proportional to how much trauma a given character has.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Hermione, Ron, and others are surprised when Lee and Harry stopped abruptly in their shouting matches when in fact the two were trying to avoid Winter knowing their hatred.
- Running Gag:
- Whenever Harry and Hermione (and/or Winter) get into an anime and/or fanfic-related discussion, eventually Ron yells, "What are you talking about?!""Muggle stuff, Ron."
- Winter getting distracted and nearly falling off a staircase, only for Harry (and in at least one case, Fei) to catch her at the last moment.
- Hermione and Ron teasing and setting Harry up with Winter. They happily ganged up on him when he's daydreaming.
- Harry and Fei in tandem, much to Winter's amusement.Winter: JINX!!!
- Whenever Harry and Hermione (and/or Winter) get into an anime and/or fanfic-related discussion, eventually Ron yells, "What are you talking about?!"
- Ship Tease: Fei and Harry are often in-sync, something that Kero and their crush Winter comment on. However, how they are often on the same wavelength was something the school never knew.
- Show Within a Show: various fanfics written by the cast - notably Harry and Winter - are mentioned, as are lots of anime/manga that they and Hermione are fans of.
- True Companions: Similar to Sakura, Syaoran, and Tomoyo in CCS, Winter, Harry and Fei began hanging out together during the Clow Cards debacle.
- Yandere: As much as Fei and Harry hate each other and rivals, they grudgingly respect each other. The person who wants Fei gone (from messing with Harry's love life) is Hermione.
