Fanfic / Ace Savvy VS Stether

Go To

Ace Savvy Vs Stether is a Kings of the Con fanfiction written by Jason Starr444.

Lincoln decides it's not worth trying to be a part of the Ace Savvy movie because of the judges' biases, and so he lets his sisters be the Queens of the Con. But then things go awry which puts the futures of not just the franchise's, but also his sisters' and his own at stake.

Ace Savvy VS Stether provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Sexuality: Downplayed and justified. Lincoln tried to give Ace Savvy a female love interest for his comic, but every time he tried, he drew a girl that looked like Cristina. So, Lincoln decided to give Ace a male love interest, because Ace had male love interests before.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: Here, Lincoln decides that being a King of the Con is not worth it after seeing the judges praise his sisters and reject everyone else. But it just sets things in motion for disaster.
  • Always Someone Better: Chapter 9 ends with Lynn getting into a fight with Stether CEO Kell Tetherby over an inappropriate image Lynn posted on social media. Kell wipes the floor with Lynn.
  • Arch-Enemy: Lincoln Loud, the Man with the Plan, has one in the form of Conner Pingrey, the Master Planner. In fact, many of the Louds have at least one enemy/rival or another.
    • Lori's rival is Angel: A girl who, like Lori's ex-rival Carol, competes with Lori for the Prom Queen title.
    • Leni's enemy is supposed to be a violent teen named Claira, but Leni is too dumb, in Lori's eyes, to see Claira's disdain for Leni.
    • Luna's and the Moon Goats' rivals are Tessa and the Green Snakes: Another band. Tessa, in particular, loves bullying Luna.
    • Luan's rival is Kyle: Another comedian who loves to see Luan fail for reasons yet unknown.
    • Lynn's rival is Sapphire: A girl who is as committed to sports as Lynn, and is the star player in each of them.
    • Lincoln doesn't see Boy Jordan and the Anti-Lincoln Group as his rivals despite their hatred of him. And even though Lincoln has a rivalry with Chandler, Conner is Lincoln's true rival.
    • Lucy's and the Morticians' Club's rivals are Azra and the Grave Club. The two clubs were once part of the same club before splitting off, but the Grave Club always had more members than the Morticians' Club.
    • Lola's rival remains Lindsay, who, despite Lincoln's friends' efforts, managed to show him an exposé Lola made of him.
    • Lisa's rival is Inori: The smartest girl in Royal Woods; loved by everyone except Lisa herself. Although their rivalry is relatively less hostile.
    • Skeeter is also an enemy of the Louds, but it's not yet clear as to who it is.
  • At Least I Admit It: Lola felt that, despite her behavior in Chapter 6, she was no worse than Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lincoln, Lucy, Lana, Lisa, or Lily.
  • Batter Up!: In Chapter 10, Luan tells Benny about "Old Lincoln", who, when he was five, once ran through the house, using a bat to destroy everything. He then stole Mr. Coconuts from Luan to use as a ball, with which he whacked into the TV, toppling it over.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Why did the sisters leave without telling Lincoln? Lincoln doesn't normally show his anger but when he does… it is scary. Even Winston tries to warn Lola that he is a demon when mad.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: Lori poops herself in front of an audience at the end of Chapter 4. The directors justify and even exploit this in Chapter 5 by making her an icon for people with bowel-control problems, much to her incredible embarrassment. In Chapter 7, Lori discovers that people were making memes about her accident. Near the end of Chapter 10, she poops herself again in front of a bunch of kids at a hospital because Preston wouldn't let her use the bathroom.
  • Broken Win/Loss Streak: Steak and Stan Stankco lost their Legends of the Hidden Temple streak to the "wimpy" Lincoln and his "wimpier" dad.
  • Cats Are Mean: The Kitty, despite supposedly being child-friendly, is very vicious. Everyone who visits him ends up getting covered in scratches. He's willing to sign autographs, but letting the person get the autograph back is easier said than done.
  • Character Development: In Chapter 3, Lori tells her sisters about how after an incident, Lincoln's behavior changes accordingly. Or, as Lori put it:
Lori: "Lincoln lives off trial and error."
  • Chekhov's Party: In Chapter 4, Lincoln throws a party with kids from the elementary, middle, and high schools. At the party, he asks his friends and even his rivals to be in his new Ace Savvy comic.
  • Comically Missing the Point: During Lola's exposé on Lincoln in Chapter 6, she says that Lincoln has drawings of his sisters being killed. Preston was more concerned about the "artist" part.
  • Consummate Liar: In Chapter 10, Luan tells Benny that Lincoln is a liar, possibly to motivate himself. In fact, earlier in that chapter, he lied about not knowing what he wanted his Ace Savvy comic to be about.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: Chapter 9. The trailer pretty much confirms Luan's worries. It SUCKED!
  • Deal with the Devil: In Chapter 10, Conner offers Lincoln a lot of money in exchange for the rights to the Full House Gang, wanting to "make it better and more profitable for the Ace Savvy franchise" by firing Lincoln's sisters. Lincoln refuses, but Conner says that the offer still stands even after the movie comes out.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: Lola's attempt to become the lead role by exposing Lincoln to Preston as a terrible person goes to this. Turns out Preston was recording her rant about Lincoln and leaked it online, making him a devil. Smooth move, Princess. Though she did feel ashamed about what she did, see "At Least I Admit It" to see how she felt about her sisters telling her off.
  • Divorced Installment: Stether, concerned that Ace Savvy is a bad influence on kids, invoked this trope by removing nearly everything Ace Savvy-related from the new movie; even calling the movie "Full Deck: Rise for Power" and later "Full House Gang: Rise for Power".
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The Anti-Lincoln Group: A bunch of kids and teens who are united in their hatred of Lincoln Loud.
Lincoln: "I still cannot believe that's what you guys call yourselves."
  • Family-Friendly Firearms: Lincoln and his enemies use paintball guns whenever they get into shootouts.
  • Force Feeding: Chapter 10 reveals Lincoln once force fed Luan their dad's awful expired cabbage casserole as payback for the bad luck incident.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Papa Wheelie, Flat Tire, and Andrew were spying on the girls' locker room, overhearing some girls saying nice things about Lincoln, even if they're not interested in him themselves. Papa Wheelie, Flat Tire, and Andrew became enraged.
  • Hated by All: Played straight or downplayed depending on the Loud sister because of their role in Stether's new Ace Savvy movie.
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: Lincoln still uses his Noise-B-Gone earbuds, despite a threat from Lynn.
  • Hidden Depths: Lincoln is also a Godzilla fan, and makes him part of his own Ace Savvy comic.
  • Innocently Insensitive: At 6 years old, Lincoln was confused about Boy Jordan's stick figure drawing. While Boy Jordan said he was drawing a bear, Lincoln asked what bear looks like a stick. The whole class except a still confused Lincoln started laughing at Boy Jordan, who glared at a now ashamed Lincoln.
  • It Only Works Once: The reason that the Loud sisters wanted to star in the Ace Savvy movie and keep Lincoln out of it is because they thought that this would be their only chance to become famous actors. They were worried that Lincoln, due to his acting experience, would steal the show no matter what role he got. They're also aware that, by keeping Lincoln out, if Lincoln ends up getting another chance to be a movie star, he won't bring his sisters with him.
  • It's All About Me: The Loud sisters, to varying degrees and for varying reasons. Despite how bad they feared that the Ace Savvy movie would be, they decided to see it through either to improve their own reputations, jumpstart their own acting careers, and/or avoid Lincoln's wrath for as long as possible. But ultimately, it was to finally get a win against their rivals after several weeks by that point.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: All the incidents the Loud sisters did to their brother catch up to them when Lincoln gets his revenge not much later. For example: In a flashback in Chapter 8, immediately after the Bad Luck incident, he buried his family at the beach up to their heads, burned the suit in front of them, and threw away their stuff.
    • Also in Chapter 8, Lincoln steals the money that Flip made from selling equipment to the angry mob that was attacking Lincoln.
    • Later in Chapter 10, the ALG members get suspended for riling up the mob.
  • Know When to Fold Them: This is the trope that is the base for the story. A foreshadowing of the actual plot has Lincoln realise that, he had no chance of winning, so he decides to let his sisters have the role. Considering that the judges also showed blatant favouritism to his sisters, he made the right choice.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Lynn reacted to the movie's trailer's critics by posting a picture of the Louds' dog, Charles's butt. Her social media account was quickly suspended for posting an inappropriate image.
  • Laughing Mad: Lincoln's reaction to the movie's trailer.
    Rusty: "You like this trailer?"
Lincoln: "Oh no! That is the single worst trailer I've ever seen in my life! HAHAHAHA!"
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: The Louds' enemies decide to use the backlash against the trailer to ruin the Louds' lives.
Tessa: "I want the Louds to lose everything. Their hopes, their dreams, everything they hold dear. Everything. I want to destroy them."
  • List of Transgressions: Besides what is listed under "Innocently Insensitive", "Green-Eyed Monster", "Stalker with a Crush", "Mythology Gag", "Broken Win/Loss Streak", and "The Smurfette Principle", there is a very long list of every time one or more of the ALG members got mad at Lincoln.
  • Mushroom Samba: After eating some cookies meant for Lori in Chapter 8, Leni started hallucinating. She ended up in a stage's control room, where she began to push levers and press buttons. After the scene was ruined, her high ended.
  • Mythology Gag: Daniel hates Lincoln for Lincoln's sisters harassing him in "Heavy Meddle".
  • Never Hurt an Innocent: When Lincoln retaliates after an incident, he doesn't go after any of his sisters who weren't involved in the incident (or Lily (for now)). After the Noise-B-Gone incident, for example, he spared Lisa from his revenge because she wasn't in on the prank.
  • No Ending: In Chapter 10, it's revealed that the movie didn't have an ending because the script wasn't finished. Preston wanted to wait until "the best part of the movie" was filmed before writing the rest of the script.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Lincoln delivers two: One at the convention against a group of kids that hate him in Chapter 1, and one against an angry mob incited by said group in Chapter 8.
  • Noodle Incident: What Lincoln did to Lisa after she moved to Lincoln's classroom. All we know so far is that Lincoln uploaded something. Later, what Lincoln advertised to end up becoming an actor in various commercials.
  • Not Me This Time: Despite what Lola said in that exposé, she never called Lincoln nor implied that he was a Nazi. That didn't stop the people who watched the interview, including Lincoln himself, from assuming otherwise.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Lincoln and his friends see the overlooked and mocked Ace Savvy villain Burster as one due to Burster's powers. So, Lincoln makes Burster a bigger threat in his Ace Savvy comic.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: The whole town found out about Lucy's love for Princess Pony and many people, especially the Grave Club, had been mocking her for it. She hoped that by being in the Ace Savvy movie, she'd no longer be the "Princess Pony Girl". It's later revealed that Lola told everyone because she wanted to punish Lucy for throwing others under the bus, as Lola saw it; and that Lucy getting grounded wasn't enough of a punishment.
  • Only Sane Woman: Luan is slowly becoming this. She had a look at the script in Chapter 7 and realises that this movie is gonna suck. She tries telling the others, but you know what they say: In one ear and out the other. When has it gotten to the point that the Cloud Cuckoolander is the only one that has her head on straight?
  • Paintball Episode: Not a whole episode, but the middle of Chapter 3 had Lincoln and his friends against Conner Pingrey and his friends in a paintball match.
  • Political Overcorrectness: The judges and Stether at large intend to create a politically-charged Ace Savvy movie that, by having positive effects on children, would "fix" the Ace Savvy franchise.
  • Punch a Wall: Lincoln reacted to Lola's exposé by growling and punching a locker.
  • The Scrappy: The Full House Gang is revealed to be this in-universe in Chapter 10. Even though Lincoln's "Full Deck" comic won the contest, Conner says that the other Ace Savvy fans didn't like the characters nor their comic. And, except for Clyde, none of Lincoln's friends back him up.
  • Screaming at Squick: Everyone was disgusted by the picture of Charles's butt that Lynn posted online, except for Preston (who was encouraging her) and Lisa (who rejects nudity taboos).
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Lincoln want this trope invoked by having the movie's directors pay him for using the Full House Gang without his permission. Conner even acknowledges that Lincoln is the real owner of the Gang… because he wants the rights signed over to him.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Shrug Take: Lincoln's reaction to finding out that his sisters wanted to keep him out of the movie, partly because they left for Hollywood early in the morning without him, and partly because he's more upset about the exposé.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Cathy is the only female member of the Anti-Lincoln Group. She joined the Group because she wasn't happy to lose to Lynn, who said her victory was still tainted by bad luck. Cathy decided to take it out on Lincoln.
  • Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond: Lincoln is charismatic but there is a group of kids that hate him and want him dead.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Andrew wasn't happy to see his beloved Girl Jordan sitting with Lincoln. Andrew even hallucinated that Lincoln was kissing Girl Jordan.
  • Story Within a Story: Lincoln is writing a new Ace Savvy comic whose story is being told throughout the fanfic in his dreams, his daydreams, and his comic.
  • Tainted by the Preview: The trailer for "Full House Gang: Rise for Power" was widely condemned in-universe in Chapter 9 for, among other things: Its use of Toilet Humor, spoiling the plot of the movie, and the goal to lecture people on how to behave.
  • Take That!: There is a jab to the episode "Making the Case", specifically the part with Lincoln failing the marathon, karate tournament and pageant as Luan states that Lincoln tied for first and came in second in the first two (both against Conner), and he wouldn't be stupid enough to not disguise himself in a pageant for 6-year-olds. Luan confirms they were all in his head as a way to motivate himself. Of course, since Luan heard this from Inori, Lisa's rival, "motivation" should be taken with a grain of salt.
  • Tampering with Food and Drink: This keeps happening to Lori's food and drinks throughout the story.
  • Taxidermy Is Creepy: In Chapter 4, Lori finds a picture of a baby Lincoln holding a chipmunk that Lincoln killed and filled with toy stuffing. Lori is worried about what would happen if the artistic Lincoln became interested in taxidermy.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Luan's conversation with Benny. She pretty much says the movie's doomed and she is part of it. Not a good career move for her.
  • Villainous Breakdown: The ALG and some of Lincoln's other enemies were enraged that the angry mob failed to kill Lincoln.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Subverted, but Lola was still surprised to hear that Preston associates Lincoln's white hair with the Devil. She then thinks about how the Anti-Lincoln Group makes similar claims.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Double subverted. One of the questions that was being asked was: What happened to Bill Buck, the creator of Ace Savvy? Kell Tetherby, despite not liking Ace Savvy, kept Bill around because Ace Savvy was making money. Maisie, Stether's chairperson, decided to fire him so that Stether could have full control of the Ace Savvy franchise.
  • You Might Remember Me from...: Lincoln has had acting experience from starring in commercials in-universe. Even Lord Tetherby's grandchildren knew Lincoln as "the kid from that commercial".
