Drinking Game / Back to the Frollo

Go To

Series-wide

Drink when:

  • Danisha is described as drop-dead beautiful, gorgeous, a goddess, an Aphrodite, et cetera
    • Drink twice if the person complimenting her is not a love interest or close friend
    • Drink three times if it's Danisha describing herself
  • Danisha is described more specifically as a Big Beautiful Woman, "curvy," et cetera
  • Frollo is described as an impossibly handsome sexpot/Frollo In Leather Pants
  • Something is compared to sugar (honey and caramel also count).
  • Danisha wears purple
  • Danisha's purple outfits are described in excruciating detail, including literal Purple Prose
  • Danisha is shown to own a luxury item she should logically not be able to afford, given her schoolteacher's salary
  • Danisha makes food for "big eater" Frollo
    • Drink twice if the meal she prepared requires ingredients or equipment that did not exist in medieval Paris
  • Danisha and Frollo are called their respective In Series Nicknames, "Nisha" and "Sugarbritches"
  • Frollo comes up with a new Affectionate Nickname for Danisha
  • A Dramatic Ellipsis-ridden internal monologue shows up, even when most of the fics are in first-person.
  • Danisha's Hair-Trigger Temper shows up, causing her to lash out or give a "Reason You Suck" Speech
  • Someone sheds melodramatic Tender Tears
    • Drink twice if that someone is a character for whom hysterical crying is very OOC
  • Someone from the twentieth century wears clothing that would be considered extremely revealing or inappropriate in the Middle Ages, and it goes completely unnoticed by the other characters
  • Someone from the twentieth century teaches the Parisians about modern American customs (e.g. cookouts, concerts, baseball)
  • Someone from the twentieth century teaches the Parisians about important future nations and conflicts, which should logically cause a Butterfly of Doom effect, but nothing actually comes of it
  • Esmeralda is slut-shamed
  • Quasimodo acts like a Manchild
  • Phoebus is described as a "dumb jock"
  • Phoebus, Quasimodo, or anyone else who was canonically on good terms with Esmeralda expresses their hatred for her
  • One of the author's actual, real life students shows up
    • Drink twice if they're portrayed as evil
    • Drink three times if they're eventually killed off
  • One of the other mistresses from the Supporting Harem makes a cameo
    • Drink twice if they're portrayed in a generally unflattering light
  • The author or Danisha is wrong about something history-related
  • Danisha insults another woman for doing something she also did at some point
  • Characters obsess over a specific historical period for no reason other than Author Appeal
    • Drink twice if the historical figures they're admiring are people whose values go directly against the values of canon Frollo

For the sequel:

Drink when:

  • Someone brings up Iggy's "wasted potential"
    • Drink twice if the narration refers to Iggy as a "former flower child".
  • Empress Theodora is mentioned
    • Drink twice if Frollo fangirls over Theodora, despite the fact that she had a large role in instituting the death penalty for rape
  • Someone says "Theodora's box" in a way that sounds extremely suggestive
  • Someone from the past mentions "Byzantium" or the "Byzantine Empire," or attempts to differentiate Byzantines from Romans, even though use of the term Byzantium was anachronistic for the time period and Justinian and Theodora would have thought of themselves as Romans
  • The protagonists brag about how intelligent they are or claim that they shouldn't be messed with
  • The protagonists forget that they have access to consequence-free time travel devices
  • Frollo forgets that he's a powerful political figure who could likely pardon anyone he wants
  • Iggy and Phoebus do something stupid while high on edibles
