    Season 1
  • Johnny goes out to distribute Cobra Kai ads and sees a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu dojo. He unsuccessfully tries to convince two oncoming young students to join Cobra Kai, after which the master of the dojo goes out to confront him for trying to poach his students. Seen here.
    • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy:
      • Johnny says that jiu-jitsu and taekwondo are "just cheap knock-offs of karate" and that jiu-jitsu isn't a real martial art because of the "rolling around the mat and hugging each other".
      • Todd, the BJJ master, also acts like this when trying to defend his art, saying karate is "for little kids" (despite having two kids in his dojo) and "a thing of the past".
    • Eagleland: Johnny tells the kids that BJJ is "Brazilian garbage" and what they need is "some good, old, all-American, ass-kicking karate". One of them promptly snarks him by asking, "Isn't karate, like, from Asia?"
    • Police Are Useless: Averted. Johnny and Todd are about to fight in the pavement, but Johnny, who's on probation after beating up some teenage bullies, leaves the scene upon hearing the siren from a nearby police car.
    • Politically Incorrect Hero: Johnny acts xenophobic by saying that "Brazil sucks" and suggesting Todd, the BJJ master, to go live there.
    • Soapbox Sadie: When a black student of Todd's refers to him by his title, Johnny says that in his dojo he doesn't make black guys call him master, even though this is entirely not racist in a sensei-student context. Nevertheless, Todd ends up with a Jerkass Has a Point feeling and tells the student that "just Todd is fine" when he calls him "master" once again.

  • Johnny is seen drunk at the print shop where he got his Cobra Kai flyers. Since Carmen ordered him away from Miguel after the beatdown her son received at the Halloween party and thus he has lost his only student, he tries to give them back and be refunded, but is obviously unsuccessful. Seen here.

  • When Daniel is looking at his 1984 champion banner at the All Valley Sports Arena, Anthony gets close, says his father is a karate legend and tells Daniel he loves him. Turns out he was just trying to convince Daniel to give him money to buy a new Xbox. Seen here.
    • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Anthony spends most of the first season being a Spoiled Brat who just exists to annoy everyone. He almost has a genuinely heartwarming moment when he tells his dad that he loves him, only for it to turn out that he just wants another present.

    Season 2
  • The OG Cobra Kais exit the hospital. They were originally going to use Jimmy's car for the road trip with Tommy, but Johnny, Tommy and Bobby make fun of the vehicle and Jimmy asks them if they have a better plan, to which Johnny says "I got an idea", showing the use of motorcycles for the trip was his suggestion. Seen here.
    • Not Helping Your Case: Jimmy defends his choice of owning a Mitsubishi Mirage by informing the gang that it's the safest car in its class. Tommy immediately jokes that that makes it "a wagon for pussies", instead of a "pussywagon".
    • Not So Above It All: When Jimmy asks Bobby whether it's a sin to make fun of a man's car, Bobby jokingly tells him that even God hates Jimmy's car model.

  • Daniel tries to calm Anoush down after Johnny attacks him in the dealership to know Robby's whereabouts. Seen here.

  • After the Cobra Kai students scatter in Coyote Creek to begin Kreese's test, Stingray tells the sensei he wants to try a tactic he saw in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but Kreese, disgusted by his naivete about war, shushes him and says he'll do better going into hiding to protect himself. This shows that Stingray, not getting the sarcasm, hiding to win was actually not his idea, despite him relating the act of hiding to his Animal Motif. Seen here.

    Season 3
  • In the morning of Sam's first day back at school following her suspension, the LaRussos eat breakfast as Daniel and Amanda try to figure out how to find Robby. Seen here.
    • Dramatic Irony: Daniel thinks Johnny has ignored all of his phone calls because he doesn't want to speak with him, when the audience knows Johnny actually tossed away his phone in his grief over the events of the Season 2 finale.
    • It's All My Fault: Daniel blames himself for Robby's situation, feeling that Robby wouldn't have lashed out at Miguel if Daniel didn't act so harsh to him.
    • Mouthy Kid: In response to Amanda saying runaways usually come back, Anthony mentions that they also often get caught committing crimes to stay afloat or wind up dead.

  • After Sam's group has to face detention for the soccer fight while Hawk's group gets no punishment, both groups bump into each other at school. The scene seems to imply that Hawk's group's antics at Golf n' Stuff was in response to Sam threatening them. Seen here.
    • Blunt "Yes": Hawk's response when Sam asks if he thinks he's "hot shit" for weaseling out of detention.
    • Politically Incorrect Hero: Sam tells Hawk his group is "nothing but a bunch of pussies".
    • Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: Demetri reprimands the two other boys in his group for not knowing the meaning of "Chinatown" in the context he intended.note
Demetri: Oh, come on. Try watching a movie that doesn't have the word "Fast" or "Furious" in it.

  • During a training session, Kreese teaches Robby a lesson about focus. Seen here.
    • Call-Back:
      • While using a kick pad, Robby takes a strong kick from Kreese that knocks him back a few steps. When he compliments his sensei and lowers the pad, Kreese kicks him in the stomach and advises him to never let down his guard to prevent his enemy from exploiting his weakness. This evokes Miguel's training with the pitching machine in season 1, when Johnny gives Miguel the same advice after hitting his ear with another ball from the machine when the session ends and he lets down his guard.
      • Kreese referring to Daniel's finishing move in the All-Valley as "that Crane Crap" evokes Silver saying those exact same words when training Daniel himself in the third film.
    • Love Is a Weakness: Kreese claims that the only reason Johnny lost to Daniel in the All-Valley was because he was distracted by his feelings for Ali.

There were lines of dialogue that were cut from the episode that appear in the original script of episode 6 during the scene where Kyler and Brucks are taunting Hawk after recognizing who he is.
Kyler: Wow, you went from being “lip kid” to dating Moon. Wild! Brucks tried to nail her all last year.
Brucks: (attempting to downplay it) It’s not like I tried that hard.
Kyler: Hey, if she hooked up with Lip, maybe you still got a shot.
Brucks: I don’t know if I want to now.(gesturing to his own lip) What if she caught what he’s got?
  • It’s probably for the best they cut these lines, as the beating Brucks did receive would’ve been much worse if Hawk were to find out this information.

The following scenes appear in the script for the finale but were not filmed due to pacing.

  • Near the end of the house brawl, Mitch, Chris, Bert, and Nathaniel dispatch the remaining Cobra Kai fighters and they all flee.
    • Bash Brothers: Mitch and Chris tag-team Doug Rickenberger to defeat him near the end of the home invasion brawl. Bert and Nate do the same against an unnamed Cobra Kai.
    • Brick Joke: Calling back to their earlier argument over Wrestlemania 3, Mitch and Chris perform the Hart Attack tag-team finishing move to take out Rickenberger.
    • Dirty Coward: Even though Kyler has significantly improved in his fighting skill, he does not hesitate to flee from battle as soon as the tides are turned against him, as shown when he leads an escape with the Cobra Kais (minus Hawk).
  • Adaptational Badass: Zigzagged. Mitch struggles in his fight against a Cobra Kai. In the final script, he effortlessly defeats Mikey and aside from Sam, is the only Miyagi-Fang member to win a fight in the first half of the fight.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Some characters are shown stronger than they were in the final script.
    • Kyler manages to defeat an unnamed Miyagi-Do before attacking Miguel.
    • Mikey was originally going to have been beating up Bert and Nate at the same time.
    • Mitch eventually gets up and punches down Paul. In the final script, Paul continues kicking him and only stops when Hawk and Demetri defects to attack the Binary Brothers.
  • Dramatic Shattering: The fight scene was going to open up with a wine bottle smashed on Mikey's head.
  • After Tory leaves the house dojo, the rest of the Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang students arrive and they all celebrate their victory while Sam and Miguel kiss, confirming they're back together.
    • Big Damn Kiss: Sam and Miguel wipe blood off each other before sharing a kiss after having defeated Tory and Kyler respectively.
Miguel: I'm still standing, so that's an improvement from last time.

    Season 4
  • An extended cut of Silver's conversation with Kreese reveals that he did lose his Dynatox company (confirming an ambiguous situation), but that he was able to restore his wealth by connecting with start-up companies. The scene also reveals that Silver is very well aware of Daniel's rise to wealth as a car salesman, not that it plays a big role in the plot.
    • The Reveal: Silver saying he hit rock bottom in the final cut implies that he no longer does business with Dynatox, but this scene has him outright revealing he did lose the company — whether he resigned, was fired by the board, or goes bankrupt is another question.
  • Terry Silver driving along the highway then having flashbacks of Part III that make him reconsider rejoining his old war buddy Sensei Kreese instead of him just arriving to Cobra Kai's dojo straight-away.
  • Daniel's Eagle Fang Training Montage was supposed to have a scene where he drinks a pre-workout smoothie of Johnny's invention that consists of raw eggs and vodka.
  • The fifth episode actually makes use of what is more than likely a deleted scene from the original film: whilst in the cafeteria, Johnny sets down a plate of some sort of food for Daniel to sit in. Daniel responds by smudging the rest of that food all over Johnny's shirt, and they start to fight.
  • The fifth episode also reveals just what went down in the tattoo shop leading up to Hawk's shaving; the Cobra Kais vandalize the backroom to get Rico's attention then use Big Red as a decoy to lure him away from the store. This leaves Hawk completely alone enough for the Cobra Kais to jump him.
    • The Evil Genius: Again, Robby Keene proves to be the strategist by coming up with a plan to distract Rico using Big Red, leaving Hawk open for the jumping.
    • Kick the Dog: Part of the Cobra Kais' plan involves vandalizing Rico's supply room as a distraction, even though the man did nothing to them.
  • Following the dojos splitting up, Daniel gathers all the male Miyagi-do students to train and inspire them for the tournament. However, none of them are able to beat Daniel in a spar, causing Chris and Demetri to realize they need a male fighter who actually stands a chance. This leads to Demetri recruiting Eli/Hawk. Seen here.
    • Epic Fail: None of the Miyagi-do fighters are able to land a hit on Daniel, showing just how dire the situation is.
  • Mitch competes during the All-Valley Tournament qualifiers, but loses to his opponent and is knocked out. He apologizes to Johnny, but Johnny assures him he did his best and still gave a good enough performance to keep the dojo in the running. He then tries to Pet the Dog by calling him his real name, but mistakenly calls him "Mike". Seen here
    • Accidental Misnaming: Turns out Johnny has thought Mitch's real name was "Mike" this whole time. When Mitch corrects him, he goes right back to calling him "Penis Breath".
  • After the All Valley Tournament, Ron, Sue, George, Darryl, and Gavin are discussing the outcome of the 51st tournament. Since Gavin was the treasurer, he asks if Carrie Underwood's appearance is covering the committee's budget, because the favor that Ron asked of Carrie can get way out of hand with the money. Ron tells Gavin that it's not working out. Darryl says that it's not him, it's them. The other board members are pointing fingers on Gavin. The board members leave to go to Applebee's, with the exception of Gavin.
  • After Sam and Abe jump over to the next roof, two unnamed Miyagi-Dos then jump over to the next roof and celebrate with them afterwards.
  • Sam is applying lotion with a Q-tip to her scarred arm from her Season 2 fight with Tory. Amanda walks in and tells her that she hates that she has to do that. Sam says it doesn't really bother her anymore as the scars seem to be fading. Amanda insists upon getting her hands on Tory (not literally), but Sam tells her that all she wants is to beat Tory at the tournament. Amanda then tells Sam that the tournament is a few months away. As she says that if Tory attacks her again, Sam says that she'll defend herself as she no longer fears Tory. Sam tells her mom that there's nothing else she can do.
  • Stingray greets his guests at his house for the prom afterparty, include Bert, Nate and their dates, as well as Robby, Tory, Kyler, Piper, and another girl that the latter two go along with. Stingray doesn't recognize Nate, who is later revealed to be going with Lexi DiMarco, the girl he openly has a crush on. Stingray then comes across Robby and Tory and asks for his reinstatement into Cobra Kai; Tory suggests he goes up to Silver since the latter might be a bit open-minded.
    • Give Geeks a Chance: Lexi DiMarco (who is shown to be very pretty) does go with the short-statured nerd, Nate, despite Bert telling the latter in the earlier episodes that he had no chance.
    • Pet the Dog: Tory's suggestion for Stingray to appeal to Silver for reinstatement is a sincere gesture to help him out on her part.
    • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Tory didn't intend on Stingray going up to Terry only to get a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown and be used as an Unwitting Pawn for the latter to usurp the dojo from Kreese.
  • As Kenny heads into a match, Amanda asks Anthony if that is who she thinks it is. Anthony says yes, and Amanda tells him that he hasn't apologized to Anthony yet. Anthony says he wanted to, but he never felt that it was the right time since he feels remorse for what he did to him. Amanda then says she is glad to hear it, and she thinks that Kenny might want to hear an apology.
  • After Amanda and Daniel speak to Vanessa, Amanda says that Vanessa's right about the toys and the screens being a problem with Anthony and they head into the kitchen, where Lucille is. Lucille says that she's knows what it's like. She says it all started before they moved from New Jersey and a little bit after. Lucille jokingly says that Daniel had a brother. She then says that when Daniel got into trouble as a young child, she would ask who did it and Daniel would say "Not me," so she would joke that Daniel had a brother named "Notme." Lucille then says that it takes a village for things to get better, in her case, an Okinawan one. She says that Mr. Miyagi had helped, as he made Daniel feel loved since he was like a father to him.
    • "Not So Different" Remark: Lucille reminds Daniel that he wasn't exactly an obedient child when he was younger, even without all the technology Anthony has access to.

    Season 5
  • An additional scene where Mitch, Bert and Devon are relaxing down a lazy river at the water park.
    • Dwindling Party: Mitch confirms that after Cobra Kai won the tournament, everyone quit karate. This explains why there were little to no Eagle Fang members showing up during the Sekai Taikai qualifiers or season finale fight, particularly the unnamed Eagle Fang student who did the kata demonstration. Devon further supports this trope by revealing that she joined Topanga Karate as she wanted to continue her training.
    • Irony: Mitch has quit karate due to Eagle Fang closing and does not want to go back to Cobra Kai. In the season finale, he betrays Miyagi-Fang because he wants to join Cobra Kai again.
  • There is an additional scene set between Cobra Kai absorbing Topanga Karate and training at their dojo, and Johnny and Chozen's fight with Hyan-Woo. Notably, Devon runs out the dojo in tears.
    • Character Development: A mild example but Johnny appeared more concerned about Devon running out of the dojo in tears that he momentarily forgot that he was at Cobra Kai's new dojo for a fight, prioritizing his (former) student's wellbeing over getting back at Silver and Cobra Kai.
    • Papa Wolf: Johnny looked genuinely concerned when he saw Devon running out of the dojo in tears that Chozen had to remind him that they were there to strike back at Cobra Kai.
  • A scene after the Sekai Taikai qualifiers where Tory and Devon talk.
    • Big Sister Instinct: Tory tries to talk Devon away from Cobra Kai before Kim interrupts.
    • Jump Scare: Kim Da-Eun appears almost out of nowhere from behind Tory and Devon, the camera cut and her suddenly loud voice creating an instant atmosphere of tension for Tory.
  • An extended scene of Miguel, Demetri, Hawk, Sam and Bert trying to interrogate Stingray of what happened on the night where he got beaten up by Silver.
    • Brick Joke: Stingray mentions that Donatello is his favorite turtle out of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as revealed in "Fire and Ice". Bert attempts to blackmail Stingray with an embarrassing video of him dressed as Donatello fighting off the "Foot Clan", consisting of still-images flying across the screen as Stingray "fights" them off.
    • Everyone Has Standards: The attempt to blackmail Stingray with the embarrassing video ultimately fails because Bert can't bring himself to publicly humiliate the guy like that.
    • Worrying for the Wrong Reason: Played straight first where Stingray began panicking when Bert showed the video and was worried that people would see it... before the special effects, visuals and music are improved. Later averted where even Stingray is a little embarrassed at the video and looked genuinely worried that Bert would actually show it.
  • An extended scene of Anoush and Louie making up after Louie learns that Anoush is dating his sister at the night club.
  • An extended scene where Miguel, Robby, Hawk and Demetri gather at Sam's request to plan how they will expose Silver.
    • Brick Joke: This brief scene explains why Hawk suddenly goes from a green mohawk to plain brown (his natural hair color) to dark blue (directly referencing his Season 1 hairstyle).
    • Locked Out of the Loop: Sam told Demetri to bring his work computer with him to the meeting spot without actually explaining why they need it.
  • Sam talks to Anthony about being part of Miyagi-Fang's plan in exposing Silver and tells him he does not need to fight if he does not want to.
  • An additional scene where Carmen expresses concern of Stingray's driving.
    • Drives Like Crazy: Stingray's driving skills in the Cobra Kai Dodge Challenger definitely raises a few eyebrows from the passengers.
    • You Have No Idea Who You're Dealing With: A unique and non-confrontational example. Stingray's wink at Carmen with trying to hit on her might not end too well for him if he knew who her current partner is.
  • During the season finale fight at the flagship dojo, Kim Da-Eun arrives on a motorcycle to get inside and stop Miyagi-Fang before ordering Big Red to keep guard outside the dojo so that no one else can get in.
    • Cool Bike: Kim Da-Eun arrives on a motorcycle, explaining how she travelled from Silver's estate to the flagship dojo in a short amount of time.
    • Suddenly Voiced: Chronologically, this is the first time Big Red receives his own lines that are not part of a crowd.
