    Bouda 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Big Eater: Bouda have a weakness: they are incorrigible gluttons. When presented with a fresh corpse, even in combat, they will attempt to gorge on it or at least defile it for later consumption.
  • Child Eater: Boudas seek out happy families, consuming the children in the night and leaving gruesome trophies behind.
  • Heinous Hyena: Boudas are hyena-faced fiends that eat children and despoil purity and family.
  • Human Disguise: The bouda polymorph into a human, a hyena, or its true form, which is a hyena-humanoid hybrid.

    Cambium

    Chatterlome 
Challenge Rating: 7
Alignment: Lawful Evil

  • Serial Killer: After the victim dies, the supplicant must deliver the chatterlome's box to nine more victims or forfeit their own life. A string of deaths occurring shortly after victims received mysterious boxes is a sure sign that a chatterlome is in the area.
  • Tracking Spell: A chatterlome whose box has been delivered knows the location of the victim and tracks the person relentlessly.
  • You Got Murder: When a person calls upon the chatterlome, they soon receive an intricately carved oaken box with an obsidian inlay of a humanoid heart. Upon touching the box, the supplicant immediately knows that the box must be delivered to the home of the person who wronged them. When the victim opens the box, the chatterlome springs forth, claiming the heart of the victim.

    Corrupted Pixie 
Challenge Rating: 1/2
Alignment: Chaotic Evil

  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: Hags sometimes capture pixies and torture them by forcing them to watch acts of depraved violence. These acts combined with the hags' magic drive the pixies mad, twisting their forms and turning them into fiends.
  • Threw My Bike on the Roof: Corrupted pixies take a special joy in destroying anything beautiful, and sometimes become distracted from their hag-assigned tasks because the opportunity to mar something perfect is too good to pass up.

    Demon 
Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Alnaar

Challenge Rating: 9

  • Big Eater: These demons have an insatiable appetite, and a single alnaar has been known to devour a cattle herd in minutes. Alnaar who have not eaten recently become weakened and desperate.
  • Horse of a Different Color: Alnaar sometimes serve as mounts for powerful demons.
  • Playing with Fire: Alnaar resemble a great blackened asp with fiery fangs, and can superheat themselves to expel momentous energy.

Apau Perape

Challenge Rating: 6

  • Killer Gorilla: Apau perape are black-furred, sharp-toothed gorilla demons.
  • Pyromaniac: Apau perape gleefully set fire to villages and crops if their master is snubbed or insulted.
  • Undying Loyalty: Apau perape serve only Mechuiti, the demon lord of fire and apes. Their final loyalty is unshakable, though sometimes they serve others for a time.

Baliri

Challenge Rating: 14

  • Blade Below the Shoulder: A baliri's arms end in crimson crab-like pincers.
  • Demon of Human Origin: A baliri demon is created when a humanoid suffers at the hands of family or peers and turns to a demon lord for succour and bloody retribution. When the victim is executed, the demon lord snatches up their soul and transforms it into a baliri demon.

Berstuc

Challenge Rating: 11

  • Beard of Evil: This demon has a thick moustache and beard that reach almost to its waist.
  • Weird Beard: A berstuc has a moustache and beard made of moss.

Cipactli

Challenge Rating: 5

  • Big Eater: Cipactli are always hungry and ever-seeking easy prey.
  • Elemental Embodiment: Cipactli's bloodline traces back to the earliest elementals. All elementals are at least somewhat respectful to a cipactli, and the two occasionally form alliances.
  • Forced Sleep: A cipactli can sing a soporific, primordial song of eternal rest and divine repose.
  • A Kind of One: In Aztec Mythology, the Cipactli was a unique monster that existed in primordial times, was slain by the gods and used to create the Earth. Here, it is reimagined as an entire species of demon.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Cipactli are a hideous, demonic blend of the worst elements of crocodilians and deepwater fish with some of the colouration of a poisonous frog.
  • Too Many Mouths: A cipactli has a mouth on every single joint.

Culicoid

Challenge Rating: 12

  • From a Single Cell: When the culicoid is reduced to 0 hp, it transforms into a swarm of mosquitoes. If at least one mosquito from the swarm survives for 24 hours, the culicoid reforms at the following dusk from the remaining mosquitoes.
  • Mosquito Miscreants: The culicoid is a mosquito demon that can communicate with mosquitoes and similar creatures. These creatures innately feel a connection to the culicoid, who surrounds itself with swarms of them and uses its sensitivity to the smell of blood to lead its allies to feasts.

Echo Demon

Challenge Rating: 6

  • Demon of Human Origin: It is said when a truly despicable liar's soul passes to the Abyss, it sometimes takes the form of an echo demon.

Fulad-zereh

Challenge Rating: 9

  • Big Red Devil: The fulad-zereh is an enormous horned, winged, blood-red demon.
  • Taken for Granite: The fulad-zereh's gaze can turn enemies into stone.

Kishi

Challenge Rating: 8

  • Battle Trophy: Kishi frequently behead, scalp or skin their conquests and decorate their shields with their trophies.
  • Literal Maneater: Gender-inverted. Kishi are driven by their voracious appetites, carnal or otherwise, with a predilection for female humanoids. They persuade women into their embrace, but their trysts always end in a grisly feast.
  • One-Gender Race: All kishi are male.
  • Two-Faced: Kishi wear elaborate headdresses or clan veils to hide the demonic hyena face on the back of their head.

Malakbel

Challenge Rating: 9

  • Wreathed in Flames: A malakbel is surrounded by blinding light and blistering heat, and burns everything in its path.

Neophron

Challenge Rating: 8

  • Circling Vultures: Neophron are ghoulish demons that can take the form of giant vultures.
  • Horror Hunger: Neophron ravenously devour any flesh they find, living and dead alike. No matter how much they eat, hunger gnaws at them, driving them to find new victims.

Pishacha

Challenge Rating: 3

  • Demonic Possession: Pishacha seek to possess humanoid bodies, driving their victims insane from the inside out.

Plaresh

Challenge Rating: 3

  • Demon of Human Origin: When they devour a humanoid corpse, the victim's soul is sent to Qorgeth's tunnel-realm and comes back as another plaresh.
  • Hive Mind: When they band together into masses hundreds or thousands strong, these tiny worm demons are linked into a hive mind.

Psoglav

Challenge Rating: 7

  • Battle Trophy: Psoglav demons carry recent kills along with them as grisly toys, and often wear strings of scalps or ears as trophies.
  • Cyclops: A psoglav only has one single, baleful eye in its forehead.
  • Eye Beams: The psoglav can emit a beam from its single eye, which knocks off the target's shadow and animates as an undead shadow under the command of the psoglav.
  • The Faceless: Most of the psoglav's head is covered by a helmet. Speculation about what a psoglav keeps under its helmet is rampant.

Rattok

Challenge Rating: 4

  • The Bully: Rattok are greasy, sneering, smug and horrible bullies to lesser demons and enjoy tormenting those they catch.
  • Soul Eating: Rattok demons collect, bottle, and often distill and flavour souls, trading them and generating abhorrent bottled spirits from them. Consuming a bottled soul destroys a portion of a living soul and floods the drinker's mind with some of the soul's memories.
  • Sycophantic Servant: Rattok are complete toadies to larger and more powerful demons—though bold enough to sometimes play tricks on their masters.
  • You Dirty Rat!: These rat-like demons constantly strive to outdo one another in vileness, and, among demonkind, they are known for their especially inventive evil deeds.

Rubezahl

Challenge Rating: 10

  • Beast Man: The rubezahl resembles a black-furred stag that walks like a man, with branching antlers, sleek black fur, goatlike legs and cloven hooves.
  • Beat It by Compulsion: If a group of objects is clearly pointed out to the rubezahl, it becomes distracted until it counts each item in the group. Unfortunately for mortals, rubezahls can count startlingly fast.
  • Shock and Awe: The rubezahl can call a sizzling bolt of lightning out of the sky, or from the air if underground or indoors.

Spawn of Alquam

Challenge Rating: 6

  • Feathered Fiend: Birds instinctively follow the mental commands of the spawn of Alquam, and sudden changes in bird behaviour that can signal a spawn is nearby. Swarms of birds attack targets the spawn designates, act as its messengers, and enact Alquam's will in whatever way the spawn dictates.

Spawn of Hriggala

Challenge Rating: 10

  • Combat Tentacles: A spawn of Hriggala's mouth is surrounded by wriggling tendrils.
  • Eat Dirt, Cheap: Spawn of Hriggala consume a diet of flesh and stone.
  • Sand Worm: The spawn of Hriggala resembles a juvenile purple worm and is used to create new tunnels for monsters of the underworld.

Spawn of Rhopalocerex

Challenge Rating: 6

  • Pest Controller: Spawn of Rhopalocerex enjoy a special kinship with moths and butterflies. Moths and butterflies regularly accompany them, aiding them whenever possible.

Spree

Challenge Rating: 5

  • Hate Plague: Spree demons seek to infect others with their murderous desires and inflict curses on those they harm. A single spree demon can incite violence that cripples a city for weeks.

Vellso

Challenge Rating: 7

  • Anti-Regeneration: While infected by a vellso with carrion curse, a creature can't be healed magically.
  • Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: These fiends love nothing more than hunting intelligent creatures, even though they actually eat little of what they kill.
  • Just Toying with Them: Vellso enjoy biting their prey a single time then releasing it, sometimes for days, allowing the wound to fester and torment the hunted.
  • The Unintelligible: Vellso have difficulty with speech due to their dagger-like teeth and long, lolling tongues. They rely on their telepathy to communicate.

Wind Demon

Challenge Rating: 2

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Wind demons have great difficulty sitting still for more than a moment. They are always in constant motion and generally making a nuisance of themselves around larger, slower demons or among humans.
  • The Pig-Pen: Wind demons delight in foul odours, rank gasses, and poisonous air. Their arrival can make horses and dogs vomit and paw their noses.

Yek Demon

Challenge Rating: 4 (yek), 9 (alpha yek)

  • Battle Trophy: Yek often wear entrails and bones of previous victims.
  • Eaten Alive: Yek do not care what flesh they feed upon but prefer it to be raw and wriggling.
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: After a yek pack leader is killed and a new one is chosen, the weakest member of the pack is devoured by the new leader.
  • Private Military Contractors: Yek are among the most mercenary of demons and can be bargained with to a greater degree than most. An evil spellcaster can perform a yek summoning ritual, offering blood and bone and a stream of rich and constant plunder to the pack leader, in exchange for service against a particular foe. If the plunder and cartloads of bone are not forthcoming, the yek invariably take their fee out of their summoner or that summoner's troops and followers.

    Devil 
Alignment: Lawful Evil

Arachnocrat

Challenge Rating: 5

  • All That Glitters: Arachnocrats have a second stomach that can turn common rocks into faux gemstones. They vomit up the gemstones after digesting the rocks for a few months, and use the gemstones to fund their endeavours. The counterfeit nature of the gems is detectable by only true craftsmen.
  • Human Disguise: Arachnocrats are adept at disguising themselves as aristocrats. Their most noticeable features, clawed hands and spider-like faces, are covered with gloves, masks, scarves, voluminous robes and similar attire. The eccentricities of the well-to-do help to cast off any suspicion over their odd coverings.
  • Wicked Cultured: Arachnocrats enjoy masquerading as members of high society, eating haute cuisine and drinking fine wine in the company of humans. Viewing the wealth and standing of their victims as the greatest measure of taste, these devils delight in aristocratic prey, though they most often feed on the liquefied innards of servants of the aristocracy to avoid detection.

Automata Devil

Challenge Rating: 10

  • Belly Mouth: The automata devil's stomach opens up like a second mouth, filled with spines.
  • Chained by Fashion: An automata devil's skin is pierced with barbs, sharp nails and coils of wire, which have been threaded through its flesh.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Six arms ending in large grasping hands erupt from an automata devil's shoulders.

Chort Devil

Challenge Rating: 12

  • Flaming Sword: Any weapons wielded by a chort devil deal additional fire damage.

Crystalline Devil

Challenge Rating: 6

  • Chest Monster: In its treasure form, a crystalline devil resembles a pretty, sparkling jewel lying on the ground, glowing with a warm inner light. It seeks to catch the eye of an unwary creature whose mind it might corrupt to greed and murder.
  • Crystalline Creature: Crystalline devils resemble gem-coated humanoids with terrible talons like shards of broken glass.
  • Gemstone Assault: The crystalline devil can attack by magically spraying shards of crystal.

Fire Imp

Challenge Rating: 1/2

  • Energy Absorption: Whenever a fire imp is subjected to fire damage, it takes no damage and instead heals equal to the fire damage dealt.
  • Engineered Heroics: Efreeti often have fire imps set fires to the property of nobles so that the genie can save the day for a price.
  • Playing with Fire: A fire imp ignites everything with a touch.

Gilded Devil

Challenge Rating: 7

  • Human Disguise: Gilded devils are usually only seen in their true form in Hell. When pursuing a mortal of high standing, they prefer unassuming appearances, making themselves look the parts of wise advisers, canny merchants or sly confidants.

Infernal Knight

Challenge Rating: 16

  • Black Knight: The infernal knight wears black plate whose edges glow red hot with the glare of hellfire leaking from them.
  • Thinking Up Portals: The infernal knight can magically tear a rift in the fabric of the multiverse, which leads to a plane of its choice.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: An infernal knight draws victims' souls into its dark blade and carries them back to its master.

Ink Devil

Challenge Rating: 2

  • Dirty Coward: Ink devils are talkers and cowards. When forced to fight, they prefer to hide behind other devils.

Koralk

Challenge Rating: 11

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: The koralk's three stingers drip poison that liquefies the victim's insides.
  • Horse of a Different Color: A koralk is large and strong enough for Medium-size devils to ride as a mount. They don't like being used this way, but do what they're told by their betters or suffer the consequences.
  • Multiple-Tailed Beast: A koralk has three tails dripping poison.
  • Spawn Broodling: When a victim dies from koralk venom, it releases a spray of gelatinous goo and reveals a lemure.

Lunar Devil

Challenge Rating: 8

  • Lunacy: At range, lunar devils hurl moonlight at foes.

Orobas Devil

Challenge Rating: 14

  • Beast Man: An orobas resembles a strong man with well-chiseled muscles, an equine head, flaring nostrils and hoofed feet.

Salt Devil

Challenge Rating: 6

  • Slave Market: Salt devils create slave markets and salt mines, where they thrive on the misery of those indentured into their service.

Spawn of Parzulon

Challenge Rating: 5

  • Cat Girl: A spawn of Parzulon resembles a woman with a sharp-toothed leonine visage and long needlelike claws.
  • One-Gender Race: All spawn of Parzulon are female.
  • Semi-Divine: Spawn of Parzulon are the results of liaisons between the Arch-Devil Parzelon and mortal women.

Wind's Harp

Challenge Rating: 4

  • Counter Spell: The wind's harp devil can play a single, infernal note to interrupt a spell.
  • Magic Music: Wind's harp devils serve the courts of Hell as background music and as instruments of sonic and psychic torture.

    Dream Eater 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Lawful Evil

  • Emotion Eater: Dream eaters feed on hope and aspiration, leaving helpless thralls willing to sell their souls for their vices.
  • Human Disguise: Dream eaters often use magic to disguise themselves as attractive members of a humanoid race.

    Gumienniki 
Challenge Rating: 1
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Deal with the Devil: Gumienniki strike fiendish bargains with willing farmers, offering to protect silos and storehouses from vermin, thieves and fire in return for a steady supply of livestock. Most of these bargains end poorly for the farmer, who soon discovers that the gumienniki doesn't discriminate when it's hungry.
  • Human Sacrifice: Gumienniki delight in sacrificing captured humanoids or livestock in starlight. They sometimes ally with dark fertility cults in hidden groves, bringing blood sacrifices directly from their protected farmers.
  • Temporary Blindness: When the gumienniki flashes its glowing eyes, creatures that can see it risk getting temporarily blinded by the resulting illumination.

    Kalke 
Challenge Rating: 1/4
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Collector of the Strange: The drive to produce ever more fanciful rituals gives a kalke the compulsion to accumulate occult paraphernalia, even though these objects serve no purpose. Because they have no ability to distinguish what's magically useful from what isn't, they grab any objects they uncover.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: The kalke combines the head of a goat and the body of a monkey.
  • Ritual Magic: Twice a month, or more during major astrological and seasonal events, the kalkes gather to perform an imagined rite of great magic. The effort has an equal chance of triggering nothing whatsoever, dangerous but short-lived misfortunes, or calamities.
  • Supernatural Sensitivity: Kalkes can sense spellcasting in a 5-mile radius, as long as the effect is not innate.

    Karakura 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Charm Person: Karakura can use their wit and charm to magically draw in prey.
  • Emotion Eater: Karakura prefer to feed upon devotion and love, though flesh and blood will do in a pinch.
  • Weakened by the Light: The karakura can only exist on the Material Plane at night or underground.

    Kuunganisha 
Challenge Rating: 2
Alignment: Evil

  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: Kuunganisha constantly exposed to divination magic grow non-functioning, constantly-moving eyes across their skin.

    Rakshasa 

Greater Rakshasa

Challenge Rating: 15
Alignment: Lawful Evil

  • Ambition Is Evil: Greater rakshasas are driven by a lust for power, keeping their true natures hidden as they maneuver themselves into the highest echelons of society.
  • Manipulative Bastard: No scheme is ever too complicated for greater rakshasas, and they are willing to employ a variety of techniques to achieve their aims, including eloquence, deception, bribery, blackmail and intimidation.
  • Secret Identity: Greater rakshasas are adept at assuming multiple identities to carry out their plots, sometimes whispering in the same person's ear from different guises.
  • Stronger with Age: When a truly wicked rakshasa is reincarnated after several lifetimes of treachery and depravity, it will return to the Material Plane from the Eleven Hells as a member of a higher caste.
  • To Serve Man: Greater rakshasas feed on the flesh of their mortal puppets when tiring of them.

    Soul Eater 
Challenge Rating: 7
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Soul Eating: Soul eaters do not devour flesh, instead feasting on a victim's soul and spirit.
  • Tracking Spell: When a soul eater's conjurer orders it to find a creature, it can do so unerringly, despite the distance or intervening obstacles, provided the target is on the same plane of existence. If the target dies before the soul eater can drain the target's soul, or if the soul eater is defeated but not killed by its target, it can use this ability to locate and attack its conjurer.

    Spawn of Chernobog 
Challenge Rating: 4
Alignment: Chaotic Evil

  • Chest Burster: If a bite wound from the spawn of Chernobog results in an infection that subsequently kills the victim, a new spawn of Chernobog will spawn from its corpse.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: A spawn of Chernobog is shaped like a bear rearing up on its hind legs, and possesses the antlers of a massive elk.

    Star-Spawn of Cthulhu 
Challenge Rating: 15
Alignment: Chaotic Evil

  • Attack Reflector: When an attack that causes psychic damage is directed against the spawn, the attack rebounds against the attacker.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: Star-spawn don't need air, warmth, ambient pressure, food or water and can survive indefinitely in space.
  • Cthulhumanoid: Being quite obviously based on the Trope Namer, star-spawn have a humanoid body and a face full of tentacles.
  • Deadly Gaze: Star-spawn can turn living flesh into miasma through nothing more than a focused gaze.

    Stuhac 
Challenge Rating: 13
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Forced to Watch: Stuhacs weave new ligaments into their clutters while their still-living victims watch. Lying in crippled agony, they cannot flee as the stuhac tears fresh material from their bodies for its garments.
  • Human Disguise: Wrapping heavy furs around itself, a stuhac poses as a feeble hermit or traveller needing assistance. Only after its victims have been lured away from warmth and safety does the stuhac show its true nature.
  • To Serve Man: Once its clutters are done, the stuhac feeds on its live victim, devouring everything but the bones. Finding a clean-picked humanoid skeleton along a mountain path is a reliable sign of a stuhac's presence.
