    A-M
  • Accidental Murder: Yes, even for someone as murderous as him, not all of his kills were intentional. In "Episode 32", after turning back to normal and celebrating, Huffer shows up out of nowhere to complain how this breaks the continuity, startling him and reflexively stabbing his tail through the Autobots' chest, happening to hit his Spark, killing him.
  • Amnesiacs are Innocent: Averted HARD, when Ridley gets amnesia after his fight with Ed at the end of "Infinity Pizza". Not only is he still psychopathic, but when the group of heroes realizes he has amnesia, they proceed to give him a massive No Holds Barred Beat Down for all the crap he's put them through the entire season.
  • An Arm and a Leg: In the climax of "Episode 2", he gets the hand with the palm holding the Space Stone slashed off by Bardin while he was distracted laughing about what he had planned for every universe. He later gets a foot sliced off in the fight with him.
  • Arch-Enemy: While he made enemies with all the season 1 winners, the ones that he personally despises the most are Judy Hopps and Ed, with Ed being his least favorite opponent of all.
  • Asshole Victim: He gets killed in nearly every appearance he makes, and you'll be rooting for his demise every time it happens.
  • Atomic F-Bomb: He lets out a "FUUUUUCK!" when his wings get destroyed by Trypticon in "Episode 3".
  • Ax-Crazy: You don't get the nickname 'The Cunning God of Death' if you aren't a psychotic murderer like he is.
  • Back for the Finale: He returns to participate in "Episode 12", the last Arena of the first season, and is the penultimate dragon the remaining contestants have to fight in "Episode 36", the last Arena of the third season.
  • Bad Boss: Whenever he shows up with his band of Space Pirates, expect them to either end up getting killed by him whenever he gets mad that the person he's fighting isn't dead yet or as Collateral Damage during the fight with said person, with Ridley not caring unless their deaths affect his plans somehow. And when they couldn't get the Super Crown off his head, he had slaughtered them and/or Thrown Out the Airlock.
  • Berserk Button: After his defeat at the hands of Judy in Episode 3, rabbit characters become a particularly sour spot to him, as the mere sight of one can drive him into a hate-fueled frenzy.
  • Big Bad: He is the overarching main antagonist of the first season, with him being the primary antagonist in episodes 2, 3, 11, 12, and Infinity Pizza.
    • Big Bad Wannabe: In the episodes where he ISN'T the main antagonist, he's still a credible threat and comes close to becoming the final opponent, only for circumstances to come up that prevent him from doing so.
  • Big "NO!": He has several of these in the series, usually as his plans are falling apart. His biggest one however is when the Punch Parry he has with Ed causes the gauntlet holding the Multiverse Infinity Stones to break apart.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": When Bardin begins to sing in their fight, he roars to him "JUST SHUT UP ALREADY!".
    • He has a rapid-fire variation when Ed demands to have one more round of their rap battle.
    • And when Starscream agrees with Torque's complaint of getting sick of standing and talking instead of killing, Ridley slaps him in the face with his tail and demands him to just "SHUT."
  • Big "WHAT?!": After the Beam-O-War he has with Legoshi, he thinks he's won since he doesn't see anything of him in sight, only to see a pair of red eyes and a pair of wings coming from Legoshi, leading Ridley to react with one of these before Legoshi charges at him.
  • Boom, Headshot!: How Bardin finally kills him in Episode 2, aiming at the area of his eye in particular.
  • Boss Subtitles: When Ridley comes back to life after Theresa absorbs the vial of his blood into her, he's revival is preceded with this:
    Vengeance Obsessed Space-Dragon
    RIDLEY
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: When he approaches Ed in his old man disguise to deliver the pizza containing the Multiverse Infinity Stones, Ed questions if he's the Ghost of Christmas Past. To which he says he isn't since "Infinity Pizza" couldn't come out on Christmas.
    • His last words before the Fatalis kills him in Episode 36 are him complaining "THIS IS BULLSHIT! I get brought back for the season finale just for THIS?!"
  • The Cameo: Gets invited by King K. Rool to join the chat Dr. Eggman has set up with several other villains to get advice from them after having a massive argument with his artificial daughter Sage.
  • Clip Its Wings: He gets his wings destroyed in several episodes.
  • Crossover Villain-in-Chief: He's the one who set up the meeting with most of the previous season 1 antagonists to team up and sets up the plan to get revenge on the heroes for beating them in their respective episodes in "Infinity Pizza".
  • Cruel Mercy: The only reason he will willingly spare someone's life is if it would bring them more suffering than if he had killed them.
    • What his ultimate revenge on the heroes consists of: Rather than just murder them outright, he uses the stones to send them to a destroyed world, where he has the minds of all their loved ones destroyed and sent down to them, and forces them to fight our heroes. The result of this would either be that they're killed by their own loved ones, or they have to kill them and live with the guilt of what they've done, destroying them from the inside and dying of despair.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Him with a gauntlet holding all the Multiverse Infinity Stones vs all our heroes was a foregone victory for him the minute they fought. The reason he didn't just kill them is that he had something else in mind for them to deal with.
  • Curse Cut Short: When he notices the giant head of The Mask about to eat him, he only has time to yell "Oh, FU-" before he's chomped down on.
    • When Ridley attempts to kill Ed with his tail during the Bloodbath in "Episode 11" results in it stabbing him in the chest, he cries out "GAH! You son of a-" before Sakaki attacks and knocks him out.
    • When Legoshi catches Ridley's tail during their fight in the same episode, he realizes that Legoshi's gotten more powerful and reacts with "Another power-up...motherfu-" before he punches Ridley across the street.
  • Die Laughing: When he is initially killed by the trapdoor spider in the 12th episode, he goes out laughing as an explosion rumbles from where the trapdoor spider dragged him down to. This is because he secretly came up with a plan that would resurrect him much later into the episode.
  • Demoted to Extra: After being a major player during the first season, he only made one appearance in season two, in a side-story as a last-minute threat. He would gain some prominence back when he returned late into season three.
  • Delayed Reaction: When he gets his hand cut off by Bardin, it takes him a second to question why he can't feel his hand and realizing it was cut off.
  • Diabolus ex Machina: His role in "Switcheroo Scramble!" has him suddenly show up near the end with no warning to give the genderbent characters some last minute trouble.
  • The Dreaded: Everyone that he meets WILL learn to fear him once he's done with them.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: The only times when he cracks a joke is when it can build on someone else's misery. For one example, after killing Sakaki in front of Ed, he mocks Ed by comparing Sakaki to a broken item and asking for a replacement at a store.
I'm sorry. My random bitch is broken. May I return it for a new one?
  • Evil Is Petty: Among the other major crimes he commits in the series, during the Replenishment in "Episode 3", when no one is looking he stole forty cakes only to throw most of them away. He did this for no reason other than to be a dick.
  • Eye Scream: In his fight with Bardin in "Episode 2", he gets blinded by Bardin slicing his ax across Ridley's face and is killed by Bardin aiming his shotgun right at Ridley's remaining eye.
    • He gets gouged in an eye by Sallie May and has rocks sent into his eyes by Xena in "Episode 36".
  • False Friend: He pretends to be Theresa Sullivan's friend by constantly sucking up to her so that she would willingly drink the vial of his blood he gave her. Once she does so, he takes HAL's powers for himself, rubbing it in her face that he never cared about her, and killing her.
  • Fantastic Racism: After being defeated by Judy Hopps, he has come to utterly despise rabbit characters. To the point that it surpasses even his amnesia, wanting to skin Lop alive in their Team Introduction and prioritizing killing her first over Zim or Rayvis in the climax of "Episode 32".
  • Fastball Special: To end the Klendathu Drop event, he smashes a wall of the ship the remaining contestants have escaped to, taking Ed, and throwing him into a Hopper, casing it to fly out of control and into the Plasma Bug, killing Ed and almost all of the Arachnids.
    • When he helps Alture Essun come up with a plan to kill Lucifer, the first step of said plan is to throw Alture straight at him.
  • Four Is Death: Fitting for someone nicknamed 'The Cunning God of Death', He is one of the most dangerous contestants submitted into the series and has been the main antagonist of 4 different Arenas and a side-story, the most amount of times any character has gotten. And coincidentally, in every episode he's been on a team after the 9th episode, he's the last member of his team to be submitted into the simulation.
  • Game-Breaking Bug: Falls victim to one in "Episode 9", where in the Replenishment, when he threatens to kill everyone there with Durandal's sword, he suddenly begins to glitch out, leaving him open to be killed by Zowie stabbing him in the head with the sword.
  • Gender Bender: Near the end of "Switcheroo Scramble", he gets smashed into the last gender-swapping bottle, turning him into "Princess Ridley". He's the only one to not revert back to normal by the end of the story. It would take until his return in "Episode 32" to turn him back to normal.
  • Head Crushing: His deaths by Judy smashing a truck onto his disembodied head in "Episode 3" and the Fatalis slamming his jaws around Ridley's head in "Episode 36".
  • Horrifying the Horror: When Ridley comes across the Carnival of Souls late into the 11th episode, he ends up looking at all the souls dancing, he comes across several clones, possibly including his original body, of himself dancing with the guests. And all Ridley can do at this sight is silently react in horror and fly away.
  • Human Disguise: He disguises himself as an old man to give Ed the pizza containing the Multiverse Infinity Stones and trick him into unlocking its powers for him and the other villains in "Infinity Pizza".
  • I'm a Humanitarian: It's a tactic of his to eat dead bodies, as it allows him to regenerate his body faster.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: He gets stabbed by the last Dragon Wasp through the chest for vengeance for the Queen that was killed.
  • I Want My Mommy!: His last word just before Judy smashes a truck onto his head is "...mommy?"
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: During The Prayer Warriors event in "Episode 10", he gets engulfed by one of their beams of lights, and his last words are in disbelief that he's dying again. He doesn't get to finish his sentence before he explodes.
Wait, shit, NO! I can't die again! Not now! Not...
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: When his Punch Parry with Ed causes the gauntlet holding the Multiverse Infinity Stones to break apart and explode, it causes him to forget everything about his time in the Arenas. This lasts up until the 32nd episode where he gets his memories back.
  • Limit Break: He gets to use his Final Smash on Ira and the Zenith Baruragaru in "Episode 11", which mortally wounds the former and kills the latter.
  • Little "No": The last word Ridley says before he's vaporized by Lop's big pulse of force energy in "Episode 32".
  • Long Bus Trip: After getting turned into Princess Ridley at the end of Switcheroo Scramble, that would be his last appearance for a while until he returned as a contestant of the 32nd Arena, still as Princess Ridley, albeit initially.
  • Losing Your Head: After Judy causes his body to overload and explode, the only part of him that's still intact is his head, which speaks a few last words being in disbelief that he lost to a rabbit...only to then come back to life a few seconds later and go on a vicious tirade to the people of Zootopia, which comes to an end when Judy crushes his head with a truck.
  • Medium Awareness: He's aware that he's from a video game franchise, and makes several references to it in a few episodes.

    N-Z
  • New Era Speech: After seemingly killing the last remaining contestants in "Episode 2", he demands for Baskerra to show up and give him his prize...only for nothing to happen. Thinking that she's afraid of him, he proceeds to talk to himself about what he has planned for every universe:
Well?! Oh...I think I get it. That bitch fears me now. As she should. Because this is all just a start...for this is how I see the future in my dreams. A future...mired in blood and fire...ruled by me...ruled by FEAR! Fear that death is coming on my wings! Where every bit of Hellfire I spread can be considered a safe haven from my wrath! Where blowing up planets is the ONLY way to achieve mercy! Otherwise, this universe...ANY UNIVERSE...is nothing but a shrieking animal for me to torment! To slice apart! TO ENJOY!
  • No Body Left Behind: In several episodes when he's killed, his body gets completely destroyed.
  • NOT!: He has this to say when Ed threatens him in "Switcheroo Scramble!":
  • Oh, Crap!: In the climactic fight in "Episode 12", he tries to skewer Ed with his tail, only for Ed to grab both his arms and break them just from gripping them, leading Ridley to let out an "Oh, shit." before Ed throws him into the core of the Arena, killing him.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: In case his New Era Speech wasn't enough of an indication, when he manages to obtain all of the Multiverse Infinity Stones and defeated the heroes, he reveals to Starscream and Gul that he plans that he plans to continuously annihilate all life and doing it over and over again, laughing them off when they asked if he had any other goal besides that. This horrified them so much they gave the heroes a knockoff Time Stone in the hope that the heroes can use it to stop Ridley's plans.
  • Pet the Dog: The one unambiguously nice thing he's done in this series is in "Infinity Pizza", where rather of disposing of the rest of the villains after helping him defeat the heroes, he gives them the worlds of their greatest desires to live at. This ends up causing his downfall, as Starscream and Wario end up betraying him and giving the heroes what they need to ruin his schemes.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: In the later episodes of season 1, he develops a strategy where he opts not to kill at every opportunity, and instead waits for everyone else to be picked off, and then strike when the numbers get small enough.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: After taking Ed out of the ship the contestants used to escape the Klendathu Drop, he roars out "Have a nice vacation, SUCKER!" before tossing him into a Hopper, which causes a chain reaction that kills Ed and a majority of the Arachnids.
    • When he gets Ira and the Zenith Baruragaru's attention and showing them that he has the Smash Ball, he asks them if they know what it is. When they attack him, he regenerates the wounds he received before breaking it, and tells them he's going to show them both what it does before activating his Final Smash to kill them.
Hey, boys! Guess what I just found! Do you know what this is?...Don't know? Allow me to educate you BOTH.
  • Pure Is Not Good: He was able to wield Durandal's sword... because he's pure evil.
  • Purple Is Powerful: A purple space dragon, and one of the most dangerous characters seen in the series. He manages to get even more powerful whenever he has at least one Multiverse Infinity Stone on him.
  • Raised Hand of Survival: After taking a particularly brutal beating from the Jackass stunt in "Episode 2", Kefka assumes he's dead and begins burying his body. But as he begins his eulogy, an arm emerges from the dirt and yells that he's still alive.
  • Regained Memories Sequence: When Princess Ridley gets bitten by a Basky Bug, in addition to finally returning back to normal, he also gets back all the memories of his times in the Arenas, which makes him want to inflict revenge on everyone for what he suffered.
  • Resurrection Gambit: In "Episode 12" he gets killed rather early into the Arena by a large trapdoor spider. But he planned a way on how he would be revived: Prior to the Bloodbath he gave Theresa a vial of his blood, telling her to absorb it if she finds herself in a tight spot. And fortunately for him, Theresa happened to use it when it was down to just her and Ed, resurrecting him, allowing him to steal HAL's powers away from her, and become the true final threat of the episode.
  • Returning Big Bad: After being the main villain in his debut episode, he becomes the main antagonist again for episodes 3, 11, 12, and Infinity Pizza.
  • Sadist: He thrives on spreading as much death and destruction as possible, loving to hear the screams of his victims before he brutally murders them.
  • Second Episode Introduction: He makes his debut in the 2nd episode, and becomes one of the most recurring characters in the series.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Taking a cue from the Metroid (Manga), Ridley in this series speaks full sentences, and even sings in a few episodes.
  • Swallowed Whole: After The Mask fires some fireworks at Ridley that miss, the explosions from them form a giant version of The Mask's head that chomps down on him, mimes chewing and swallowing him, and then explosively burps him out.
  • Team Killer: He has a history of killing, or at least attempting to kill, his own teammates in this series:
    • In "Episode 3", He and Samus have a mutual feeling of using the Arena as the place to end their rivalry for good. Unfortunately for him, a peanut allergy Samus had already beaten him to the punch.
    • During the Replenishment in "Episode 11", he uses an Uno reverse card to turn the Bone Eater's gas against him, turning it into a tomahawk that lodges itself into its chest. This causes the Bone Eater to sink into the ground, imprisoning it forever.
    • In "Episode 12", after coming back to life thanks to Theresa drinking the vial of his blood, he takes HAL's powers away from her and then chews her head off.
    • In the climax of "Episode 32", he prioritizes killing Lop when it's down to just them, Rayvis, and Zim, failing thanks to Rayvis' interference, and ends up getting killed by Lop herself.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: He has been killed 9 times over the course of the series.
  • This Cannot Be!: When he notices movement in the crater where Ed should have been obliterated, he utters "What? No, it can't be..."
    • Late into his fight with Ed in "Infinity Pizza", he gets desperate and stops time using the Time Stone, and tries to kill Ed with his tail while he's frozen. But when he makes the attempt, Ed breaks out of the time stop and grabs his tail, leaving Ridley flabbergasted.
      How are you...impossible...
  • Trash Landing: After getting swallowed up and burped out by The Mask, he ends up falling into a dumpster.
  • Twitchy Eye: When Ridley demands Kefka to tell him what he missed after emerging out of the grave he dug, Kefka tells him that he already had written his Will and gave it to Worick. Ridley's response is to have an eye twitch and hope that someone had died.
    • In "Infinity Pizza", when Ed doesn't give him the reaction he wants when he says that he's going to spread Ed's molecules across the universe.
    • In ''Switcheroo Scramble', when his demands to be changed back to normal are met with Torque using his princess form as potential blackmail material and Ed wanting to be turned into a princess like him.
  • Two-Faced: When Bardin hits Power Stone with his axe, causing it to crack and explode, only half of his face is remaining.
  • Villainous Breakdown: After getting his tail wrecked by Judy and sent falling onto the beach, he realizes that Judy had been empowered by the baby Metroid that he killed, and loses it, screaming that he absolutely will not lose to her.
YOU BITCH! NO! NO! GODAMN IT, NO! I WILL! NOT! LOSE! TO A GODDAMN TERRAN RABBIT!!!
    • And after Judy overloads his body and causes it to explode, he gives out a few last words before seemingly dying. But when an officer asks if it's over, his head comes back to life to rant about the treatment his franchise has gotten and threatening to kill them, until Judy drops a truck on his head.
Ridley: NO! No it isn't! First, my franchise gets bulldozed by a bunch of WORTHLESS other franchises! Then I'm passed over in the first Arena round for some jackasses from the competition! THEN, I lose to a midget human! NOW THIS! Let me tell you Disney Afternoon Village People something! I'm Ridley, the Cunning Space Pirate God of DEATH! So, if you know what's good for you, line your FurAffinity asses right up here SO I CAN-
      Judy: Oh, SHUT. UP.
  • Villain Song: As he fights the last remaining contestants in the first part of the climax of "Episode 2", he sings Man on the Internet's "Vs. Ridley" as he trounces them and kills all of them except Bardin.
  • Villain Team-Up: His team, Nialis Cainazzo, consists entirely of villains.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He kills Floats, Judy's baby Metroid companion, and destroyed the minds of the Cul-De-Sac kids with his gauntlet before siccing them on Ed.
  • Why Won't You Die?: When Ed manages to get back up after he unleashed a barrage of attacks that should have killed him in "Episode 12", Ridley is naturally pissed at how he's still alive.
How many times do I have to kill the same guy?! WHY DO YOU PERSIST?!"
  • You Have Failed Me: He slaughtered many of his Space Pirates for failing to get the Super Crown off his head.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Once Theresa has drunk the vial of his blood, reviving him, he steals HAL's powers from her and then kills her.
