Hyrule

Hylians

    In General

  • Adaptational Villainy: Aside from the Yiga Clan, you won't find bandits in Hyrule in the game. Here, bandits are less common than they are in Fódlan, but Hyrule does have them.
  • Small, Secluded World: Averted. Hyrule does have interactions with its neighboring countries (Termina, Holodrum, and Labrynna), has been invaded at least once, and the pirates menacing Lurelin Village are stated to be outlanders. The people of Hyrule aren't that surprised to see outlanders among the Rising Sun Company either.

    King Rhoam

    Hudson

  • Loophole Abuse: The Bolson Construction Company is only allowed to hire people whose names end in "-son." According to Hudson, this includes being able to hire the Rising Sun Company, because their company's name ends in "Sun."

    Kilton

  • The Nose Knows: He recognizes the scent of Manhandla poison when the Viper tries to poison Hubert and Mercedes at the Tarrey Town construction site.

    Beedle

  • Cool Airship: It turns out Beedle is able to travel to most anywhere ahead of the Company because he has one. It's also Downplayed as Beedle notes it can only carry a single person and a small amount of cargo.
  • Mythology Gag: Beedle's airship is upgraded version of the one the character had in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, being a hot air balloon carrying the shop, now with two Ancient Technology engines for propulsion. Beedle also mentions that before getting the engines, the airship was powered by pedaling like in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

The Sheikah

    In General

    Impa

  • Berserk Button: Suggesting that the Sheikah should take over Hyrule. Impa is very clear on this front: the Sheikah's role is to serve the royal family.
  • Cool Old Lady: She's over 100 years old, and she can still kick all kinds of ass.
  • Mentor Archetype: She's this to Felix, Petra, and Kronya.

    Paya

    Dorian

    Purah

    Robbie

The Zora

    In General

    Mipha

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Unlike in the game, where it's ambiguous whether or not Link reciprocated her feelings for him, here it's explicit that he didn't.
  • Birds of a Feather: She tells Marianne that she wasn't very confident during her life. In hopes of helping Marianne become more confident, she gives her Mipha's Grace.
  • So Proud of You: She tells Sidon that she's very proud of the man he's become.

    Sidon

  • Guest-Star Party Member: He aids the Rising Sun Company in killing the Lynel on Ploymus Mountain.
  • Twinkle Smile: As par canon, this happens whenever he smiles. When asked about it, he claims it's because of "really good toothpaste." Assuming his teeth work the same as those of actual sharks, he doesn't even need to brush his teeth, so that means he brushes them specifically in order to be able to do this.

    King Dorephan

    Muzu

The Gorons

    In General

    Daruk

    Yunobo

  • Cowardly Lion: He's terrified of monsters. Still, when he does fight, he does it well, even killing a King Dodongo.

The Rito

    In General

    Revali

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When he realizes Naydra is about to attack, his arrogance totally disappears, and he freely admits that even with Medoh under control, he and Link have very little chance against her. And when Link and Teba go to scout for the source point of Ganon’s control over Naydra, he has no pithy remark for Link, instead sincerely wishing him luck.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Link, as par canon.

    Teba

  • Cold Sniper: Link notes that Teba is a lot colder and less emotional than Revali. As for the "sniper" part, he is an expert archer.

    Elder Kaneli

  • Death by Adaptation: In the games, he retired to care for the Flight Range. He never gets the chance here; instead he gets murdered just before the RSC attacks Vah Medoh.
  • Improperly Paranoid: He doesn’t want anyone to attack Vah Medoh because he thinks that will cause it to retaliate against Rito Village. Too late; it’s already headed for Rito Village.

    Kass

  • Birds of a Feather: Puns aside, he and Dorothea quickly bond as fellow singers, even agreeing to swap songs.

The Koroks

    Hestu

  • Pragmatic Adaptation: His inventory expansion powers are interpreted as him enchanting quivers to hold as many arrows as needed.

The Divine Dragons

    In General

  • Barrier Maiden: They regularly have to bring their power to bear against the power that Ganon projects from Castle Hyrule.
  • Canon Welding: The Divine Dragons are manaketes in this fic.

    Farosh

    Dinraal

  • Oh, Crap!: When she realizes that Naydra has taken to the sky.
  • Serious Business: She's very angry when she thinks Kronya was stealing from her cheese storeroom.

    Naydra

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Astor infected her with Malice, causing her to go berserk and try to attack Vah Medoh and Rito Village.

    Volga

The Yiga Clan

    In General

    Master Kohga

    Sooga II

  • Generation Xerox: Like his father, he's The Dragon of the Yiga Clan as well as one of its premier warriors.
  • Worthy Opponent: He finds one in Impa. He later acknowledges Claude and Kronya as worthy foes as well.

    The Viper

  • Expy: Of the Hornet, down to the way Hubert kills him.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: According to the Raven, he considered himself one of the Yiga Clan's greatest assassins, while the rest of the Clan thought he was a joke.

    The Raven

  • Evil Sorcerer: He describes himself as the Yiga Clan's greatest sorcerer.
  • It's All About Me: Unlike the rest of the Yiga Clan, he has no loyalty to Master Kohga, and offers to let Flayn buy him off.
  • Master of Illusion: He's capable of creating illusions that are nearly indistinguishable from reality.
  • Only Sane Man: He's the only Yiga who seems to realize that maybe counting on Calamity Ganon to reward them isn't the best idea.
  • Speak Ill of the Dead: He claims he's glad the Viper was killed.

    Zimmer

  • Affably Evil: He's very polite for an assassin.
  • Cyborg: His body is mostly composed of Ancient Tech.
  • Treacherous Quest Giver: He sends the Company into a bandit lair under the pretense that his niece has been kidnapped by the bandits. He does have a niece, but she's never been kidnapped.
  • Villain Team-Up: With Aeron Flagg.

    Aeron Flagg

    Dzu-Teh

  • Duel to the Death: He kidnaps four civilians to force Link to fight him one-on-one in unarmed combat. He comes close to beating Link, but not close enough.
  • Frame-Up: He kills Elder Kaneli in hopes of framing the RSC. It doesn’t work.

Other Villains

    Calamity Ganon

  • Big Bad: Of Year One.
  • Killing Intent: Calamity Ganon's hatred and malice is potent enough that him just focusing his malevolent gaze on someone is enough to cause everyone besides Link and Flayn suffer a Freak Out.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: It wants to destroy the world and everyone on it.

    Astor

  • Canon Welding: In canon, it's unclear if Astor and the fortune teller mentioned in Breath of the Wild are the same person or not. Here, they are, with it being explained that telling King Rhoam about the guardians and the Divine Beasts was part of his plan to corrupt them.
  • Demonic Possession: He's the one who infected the Guardians with Malice, and later did the same to the people of East Akkala Stable. Also, during the Great Calamity, he infected Naydra.
  • Fame Through Infamy: He fully intends to make it possible for Calamity Ganon to kill everything in the world so the dead and the gods will curse his name forever for rendering everything they ever accomplished pointless.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He turned all the people of Gatepost Town into ReDeads, including the children.

    Wizzro

  • Absurdly High-Stakes Game: He tries to win the souls of eight Company members and Kass in a series of these. He starts out strong, but ends up losing.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He delivers one to several members of the Rising Sun Company at Foothill Stable.
  • The Strategist: With him leading them, monsters are actually somewhat effective soldiers.
