Sole Survivors

    Shiro Sakurai
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shiro_sakurai.png
A rather domineering college student looking to become the most dominant winner of all time.

First Rivals of Aether fan character.

  • The Bad Guy Wins: Though a more Pyrrhic Victory, and given how much the jury tore into her, she certainly wouldn't call it a satisfying or deserving win.
  • Big Bad: Out of all of the obstacles in blatant protagonist Micah's way to winning, it's his own Ride or Die partner that ends up being the biggest.
  • Competition Freak: Oh yes, a huge competition freak, bordering on being exaggerated as early as episode one.
  • Fantastic Racism: Refers to individuals without superpowers as "Normies."
  • It's All About Me: She's completely convinced that everyone and everything, including her own partner, who offered her HIS share of the money in exchange for her cooperation.
    • Break the Haughty: And gets completely dressed-down by the jury as a result, including having said offer rescinded due to breaking the rules of the agreement.
  • An Ice Person: Her powers boil down to this.
  • Jerkass: Her teammates consider voting her out before Sandy simply due to her unpleasant personality and negativity, though to be fair, having to live with Sandy may be the direct cause of this.
    • Jerkass Realization: After she got brutally berated by the jury and seeing how badly she acted on national television, she disowned her behavior and gameplay at the reunion.
  • Lonely at the Top: Sure, Shiro won the game alongside Micah, but her bad behavior and actions, combined with being slammed by the jury and seeing how she acted on television, lead her to admit that her victory was undeserved.
  • My Greatest Failure: After watching how she acted national television, she felt severely guilty for her actions, and at the reunion condoned and regretted her gameplay.
  • Never My Fault: Shiro's character mostly revolves around this trope, as even though she uses her powers or tries to do something beneficial for her, only for it to blow up in her face, she always blames it on someone OTHER than herself. More prominent when it comes to her being paired with Micah. Averted at the reunion, where she expresses remorse for how she played and finally admits to her mistakes.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: She may have won the competition alongside Micah, but she ended being castigated by the jury and she left the competition feeling like she didn't deserve to win.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: She was right to be angry at suddenly having her powers taken from her, but her first thought was that it came from the other tribe, not the glowing gem person.
  • Smug Super: She's quick to use her ice powers, but they haven't been useful in a challenge even once.
  • Sole Survivor: The 19th, a position shared with Micah.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: At the post-season reunion she disavows her gameplay, having realize how badly she came off on national television. She even donates her half of the season's payout to mental health charities in her name.
  • Was It Really Worth It?: After Shiro saw how she acted on national television despite winning the game, it wasn't worth it.

    Micah Chippers
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/micah_chippers.png
A professional thief who presents as a Good Ol' Boy in an attempt to seem nonthreatening.

First Zootopia fan character.

  • Accent Slip-Up: Turns out that thinking about romance or flirting is enough to get him to break out the Good Ol' Boy voice again.
  • Anti-Hero: Despite his more cutthroat game plan pre-merge, he ends up playing the role of the protagonist by the end.
  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: Avoids shoes altogether despite being fully clothed otherwise.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Revealed to be this at the end of the first episode. This proves to be heavily downplayed, as this is more how he perceives himself rather than how he truly is (somewhere in the middle).
  • Gentleman Thief: He prides himself on the fact that his heists have no casualties. He also has incredible social skills and a predilection for using calling cards.
  • Good Ol' Boy: Subverted; this is a front he uses to get by in life.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Slightly downplayed. He was forced to atone for his previous mistakes throughout the game when he realized he was paired with someone as unpopular as Shiro, eventually becoming the nicer and more popular of the pair in spite of being more neutral than heroic.
  • Hidden Depths: His cutesy initial persona was one he cultivated outside of the game so that people would like him in his personal life. He also would like to be a secret agent rather than a criminal mastermind.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Since he was the one who got voted out and saved by Shiro, he was technically this for her. As such, when the pair win, he's the one who gets all the credit from the jury while Shiro gets lambasted for her failures.
  • Retired Outlaw: He decides to quit thievery late into the game, possibly to spend more time with his girlfriend, and it appears he's stuck to his decision by the time of the Reunion.
  • The Social Expert: Undeniably so. Even after being revealed as having taken lessons from every previous SFC villain, he managed to win the season by building more genuine bonds with people. And all of this with a tremendous handicap in the form of his Ride or Die partner!
  • Sole Survivor: The 19th, a position shared with Shiro.

Runner-Up

    Fuchsia Amaranth
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fuchsia_amaranth.png
A Huntress originally from Vale with all the skills to make for a good player, but trouble executing on them.

First RWBY fan character.

  • Hidden Depths: She absolutely breaks down emotionally during her Loved Ones visit, since she's been bottling up her emotions the entire game to keep up a façade of strength.
  • My Greatest Failure: Failing to save Snapper with the Ride or Die advantage because she thought that tying her game to someone else had a greater chance of costing her the million.
    • Likewise, failing to convince Shiro to play the fake split-up advantage she gave her. It's been said at the Reunion that at least two of Micah and Shiro's votes would have gone to her, making her the winner instead.
  • Oh, Crap!: She told Sydney she was the first target on Claterra. When this detail comes up at Tribal, Beata threatens to "sniff the rat out myself", which causes Fuchsia to have a mild panic.

The Jury

    Okawa Hikuma
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/okawa_hikuma_8.png
A rotund bear who goes into the game aspiring to take on a leadership role.

First Tokyo Afterschool Summoners fan character.

Came back for Season 20: Generations.

  • Beary Friendly: One of the single nicest people in the season.
  • Leader Wannabe: He actually gets the leadership position pretty early on, though he's more incompetent than outright annoying about it.
  • Living Lie Detector: His ability, Bear's Honest Truth, lets him tell if people are lying.
    • Cannot Tell a Lie: The catch to his power, to the point where he can't even say something sarcastic.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After being convinced to stop holding back out of fear that people will fear him, he singlehandedly becomes one of the greatest strategic and physical threats in the game, ending up as the Final Boss of the season.

    Clover Fields
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clover_fields.png
A top secret agent who is altogether terrible at keeping her identity a secret.

First Klonoa fan character.

    Trevor Griffin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trevor_griffin.png
The star linebacker on his high school football team, he's nevertheless still finding himself as he goes along.

First Monster Prom fan character.

    Striker the Weasel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/striker_the_weasel.png
A youth who's taken after his idol, Swiper the Fox, especially in terms of finding and taking things.

First Dora the Explorer fan character.

  • Fake Interactivity: Carries over from his home series. He describes this as having voices in his head.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: The voices in his head are quite excellent for a game like Survivor, where they can lead him to a neverending supply of idols and advantages.
  • Keet: Very small and very energetic.
  • Kid-Appeal Character: The youngest character in the season coming from a popular edutainment show.

    Nico Harlinger
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nico_harlinger.png
A librarian's assistant who's altogether on the aloof side of things.

First Night in the Woods fan character.

  • Jerkass Has a Point: He admittedly tore into Shiro pretty hard at the first Immunity challenge, but to be fair, she did use her powers to give herself a bigger advantage than her teammates did.
  • Smelly Skunk: It's his superpower. He can blanket the woods in purple, horrible-smelling gas.

    Aurora
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aurora_10.png
A dragon princess who's proud of her status as well as her stature.

Fourth My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan character.

  • Adipose Rex: A very large princess.
  • Big Eater: She normally turns rocks into gems to eat, but after being Brought Down to Normal, she doesn't realize she has to ration the food the tribe retrieves in the wild.
    • On the bright side, her stomach single-handedly caused the opposing tribe to lose Immunity in the second episode.
  • Fat and Proud: Her weight is commented on numerous times by her and her tribemates.

    Beata Pracik
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beata_pracik.png
Captain of the Edmund Dantes, a natural leader who isn't willing to relinquish her role.

First Treasure Planet fan character.

  • Bad Boss: For her crew back home. It only gets worse after the reunion.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: One of the biggest threats in the pre-merge, her elimination is what allows Micah to take control of the game from that point onward.
  • Iron Lady: A harsh disciplinarian with a volatile temper who never shows weakness until she's voted out.
  • The Leader: Of the Claterra tribe.
  • Space Pirate: As a rep from Treasure Planet would be.

    Snapper
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snapper_honda.png
A mutant ninja turtle who, much like his fellow ninjas, is looking to lay low.

First Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan character.

  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Snapper is not his real name. It's Ross Honda.
  • No Sympathy: He quite bitterly brushes off everyone else's concerns about their powers being taken away. It's hinted that this is because he was turned into a turtle against his will.
  • Ship Tease: With Fuchsia, even post-season and post-betrayal.
  • Straight Man: In his alliance with Okawa.

Eliminated

    Sydney Casey
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sydney_casey.png
A lockpick saleswoman who's got the killer instinct to play, but not quite the social game to get there.

Second Sly Cooper fan character.

    Dante Wagner
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dante_wagner.png
A visual artist with a deeply eccentric personality and an ego bigger than his own head.

First It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fan character.

  • Eccentric Artist: Makes his living as an artist, and is one of the most colorful characters in the season.
  • Parody Retcon: In-universe. At the reunion, he tries to claim that his erratic performance in the season was interpretive art after seeing how badly he came off on national television.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: In his first major appearance, he is very eager to brag to the audience about his awesomeness.

    Sandalwood "Sandy"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sandy_51.png
An old-school type of Gem who's fond of the old-school seasons and not so much the newer, superpower-laden newer seasons.

First Steven Universe fan character.

  • Brought Down to Normal: Does this to the whole cast. She later reverses the effects upon being outed as a hypocrite, since she accidentally used her powers to blind Shiro in a challenge, despite trying her best not to use them.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Because she took away everyone's powers, combined with her insistence of how the game should be played, Sandy is near universally hated by her fellow tribemates.
  • The Fundamentalist: Nico mentions that Sandy's playing the game like a religious zealot would.
  • Good Old Ways: Her first episode is all about wanting to play the game like it was meant to be played in the early days. This leads to her destroying advantages, limiting strategy talk, and peaking with her taking away her tribe's powers when they had a massive lead on the other tribe.
  • Knight Templar
  • Large Ham: Her spiel against advantages.
  • Take That!: Is one to zealous fans of older seasons who hate advantages or anything about modern seasons of Survivor just in general.
  • Unknown Rival: On the receiving end of this from Shiro. Sandy somehow doesn't realize she so openly hates her.

    Zansa Patel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zansa_patel.png
An Earthbender looking to push herself and improve her abilities through the game.

First Legend of Korra fan character.

  • Despair Event Horizon: Sandy taking everyone's powers completely breaks her spirits, to the point where she starts crying in her final words.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: She's an Earthbender.
  • Useless Without Powers: Believes herself to be this after Sandy takes her powers. In fact, this feeling hits her much more than it does for the other players, leading to her early elimination.

    Beckett Cruz
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beckett_cruz.png
A genius intellect who lacks the social skills to avoid coming across as deeply annoying.

First Rick and Morty fan character.

  • Does Not Like Magic: He went on a rant about how much he didn't believe in magic or special powers in front of Zansa, an Earthbender.
[thinking] "I WILL CRUSH YOU WITH A THOUSAND BOULDERS!"
  • Insufferable Genius: He's always going on about his high IQ, yet he lacks the social skills to realize how annoying he is coming across.
  • Jerkass: Just look at this wonderful first impression.
  • No Social Skills: As it turns out, being a huge asshole to your tribemates on the first day makes you a great candidate for elimination. He also didn't even realize he was in any danger until it was spelled out to him at Tribal Council.
  • Starter Villain: Invoked; SWSU built him up as a character that seemingly had a lot of staying power, only to end up being a subversion of his villain archetype and leaving first.
