     Gogo Matsumoto

"Darnit! Ok, now I'm peeved!"
Voiced by: Hinako Mori

An adorable and slightly dim-witted 11-year old girl but a ludicrously tough human fighter.

  • Badass Adorable: Gogo Matsumoto is an extremely cute little girl, but is clearly capable of wiping the floor with her adversaries if she has to. She eviscerates an entire baseball team's worth of demons in the first episode alone.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Cannot see a thing without her glasses, to the point of facing the wrong way when fighting her opponenets.
  • Cute Bruiser: Gogo is as exactly as cute as you'd expect a precocious 11-year old girl to be but she's also capable of taking on demons over twice her age and three times her size.
  • Honor Before Reason: She seems to take the formalities surrounding the Infinite Tournament seriously, even when her opponents are Combat Pragmatist demons. In the first episode, her bowing politely to Akumagai Ogre prompts him to kick her in the head while she's not looking, and she still does it again right before she actually starts to fight back.
  • Idiot Hero: Gogo isn't particularly smart, even for an eleven-year-old. She continuously gets distracted and generally acts empty-headed, believing that Emperor Koro and the Japanese Emperor are giants because they're projected on large tv screens. At one point, this is visually represented by her head opening up and a bird picking at her brains.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: She's normally pretty airheaded, but when she actually starts to fight she proves herself to be an extremely strong and skilled combatant.
  • Little Miss Badass: She's naught but an 11-year-old girl, but is capable of mopping the floor with demons twice her size.
  • Made of Iron: She's able to survive being kickedacross the stage by a demon and being hit hard in the back of the head with a baseball bat (which is shown later to decapitate three demons) with barely any injuries.

     Nono Matsumoto

Nono in human form

Gogo's ill-tempered and moody but golden-hearted big sister. May or may not be Emperor Koro's daughter.

  • Ambiguously Related: There are a number of hints in the first episode that Nono is actually Emperor Koro's daughter, the most glaring on being that Mama acts extremely nervously around Koro and very impolitely tells him to put his glasses on, implying she's much closer to him than it seems. It's also therefore unknown who Gogo's father is, and if she and Nono are only half-sisters.
  • Human-Demon Hybrid: She's the half-Demon daughter of Mama, though her base form seems to be her demon form: she can turn into a human form by sneezing, and back.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: Has no problems insulting, belittling or, if the opening credits are anything to go by, shooting her younger sister, but if anyone else comes after her, there'll be hell to pay.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite acting like a huge bitch most of the time, she genuinely believes in her little sister.
Nono: Oi, ugly! She may not look like much, but my little sister has trained her butt off to compete in this tournament, and she's one of the strongest fighters I know!
Gogo: Thank you, big sis! I always knew you believed in me—
Nono: Yeah, nobody cares.[tosses her aside]
  • The Lad-ette: Nono is fairly abrasive and quick to berate. She's also shown to smoke and drink frequently, her preferred brand of beer seemingly being Sapporo.
  • The Shut-In: Implied. She is shown to sit in a dark room on her computer with crumpled beer cans littered around and an accumulating ashtray on her desk. She does however leave her room without complaining or noticeably disliking being outside, at least not before putting up a fight.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Is the primary source of the series' sex appeal, being a busty half-demon tomboy spitfire.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: It can't be accurately determined how much of her swearing is coming from the subtitles, but she nevertheless uses a lot more pejorative language than the rest of her family.

     Mama Matsumoto

"We're all going down [to the Tournament] like a proper family!"

Gogo and Nono's mother.

  • Action Mom: As the opening titles show, Mama is more than capable of kicking demon ass by herself. She also dropkicks Nono's computer monitor out a window so hard that it only lands eight minutes later on the last surving baseball demon's head.
  • Almighty Mom: As demonstrated in the intro and first episode, Mama is capable of wrangling Nono, her extremely abrasive eldest daughter, as well as keeping Gogo from stealing from her cookie jar despite Gogo being able to cleave demons in half with a karate chop.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Not as much as Nono, but she wears a form-fitting, cleavage-exposing wrestling leotard in the opening credits and several of the shots highlight her Hartman Hips.
  • Open-Minded Parent: Mama seemingly has no objections to letting her 11 year old daughter compete in a fight to the death, whether she is just supportive to a fault or believes Gogo to be skilled enough to actually win the tournament is up in the air. She does however worry about her and wishes her luck any chance she can.

     Japanese Emperor

"I just wanted to tell you; Gogo-san, congratulations on your hard work, and good luck going forward."

The Emperor of the Earth nation of Japan. He first appears to personally congratulate Gogo for defeating Akumagai Ogre and his team in her first match.

  • Is This Thing Still On?: The camera lingers on him for a while after he delivers his message in the first episode, prompting him to meekly ask if the audience can still see him.
  • Occidental Otaku: He certainly brings this trope to mind, with his portly body and slightly accented Japanese. He also asks whether the audience can see him in English before the screen cuts to Emperor Koro.

Demons

     Emperor Koro
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_13_at_15_21_59_punch_punch_forever_speedoru.png
"Greetings, pitiful humans! I look forward to seeing you all turned into a pile of red blood and guts on my arena floor! Ganbare!~"Translator's Note

Head of the demons and overseer of the Infinite Tournament. May or may not be Nono's father.

  • Affably Evil: Aside from being a dictator who enjoys watching human suffering, Koro is a fairly nice guy.
  • Big Bad: He's the one who set up the Tournament, which the opening narration explains is basically just for the Akumagai Demons' enjoyment so they can watch Humans get pitifully ripped to shreds by other demons.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As much as he enjoys watching humans get torn apart by demons even he's reluctant to have Gogo, an 11 year old girl, fight a whole group of demons by herself.
    • From what can be gleaned from the first episode, the humans competing in the Infinite Tournament are volunteers, suggesting that he's not making people compete in a lethal tournament against their will.
  • Evil Overlord: Of the Akumugai realm and the conquered Earth.

     Jin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_13_at_15_20_54_punch_punch_forever_speedoru.png
"Surely a whole team of baseball demons against an 11-year-old girl is a bit unfair...but who gives a shit??"
Voiced by: Kasumi Seki

The emcee and referee of the Tournament, Jin is just as sociopathic as any other demon.

  • Cute Monster Girl: As opposed to the other, more monstrous demons, Jin looks more like a regular human but with wings and fangs.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Subverted. It looks like she's considering stepping in and evening the odds for Gogo against Akumagai Ogre's team, but then immediately doubles back and says she doesn't care.
  • More Despicable Minion: Whereas Koro hesitates to have Gogo, an 11-year-old, go up against a group of demons, Jin has no such compunctions.

Tournament Contestants

    Akumagai Ogre's Team

CENTER: Akumagai Ogre
"Oooh~ What a scary little human! I think I might need some extra help!"
Voiced by: Akihiro Tagaki
Gogo's first combatant in the Tournament, Akumagai Ogre is an unscrupulous baseball player demon who blatantly skews the battle in his favor by (tournament legally) forcing Gogo to fight his entire baseball team at once.
