Main Characters

    Alma
A young girl who was born from a mysterious flower one day. Due to her unusual birth, the Legendary Pokémon decided to raise Alma until she got old enough to go to the Human World.
  • Ambiguously Human: Alma was born from a flower that mysteriously appeared out of nowhere in one of the gardens. Her voice seems to be a tracker to her adoptive family to let them know where she's at.
  • Born from Plants: Alma was born from a golden flower in the rose garden.
  • Fantastic Racism: Some of the ordinary Pokémon don't like Alma, mostly because she's human. However, this is only because some of them or their ancestors were abused by humans.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She's a kindhearted girl with blonde hair.
  • Happily Adopted: Alma is quite happy with the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon who treat her with general love and kindness like any other family would, regardless of the fact that she's human.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Upon finally learning about Ash, she ends up showing interest in him. She even asks her family to tell her about Ash's adventures with his friends when they were younger.
  • Interspecies Adoption: She's a human who was adopted by the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, and despite being different species, she loves them as much as they love her.
  • Only One Name: She only has one name. Justified, given the situation surrounding her birth. As she literally has no biological parents, she can't have a surname.
  • Prenatal Possessions: Alma was born with her little white dress and wears it throughout her infancy until she gets older.
  • Raised by Legendaries: She has been raised by the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon since she was born, which the story is mostly about.
  • Skipping School: She tends to skip her lessons with Slowking whenever he turns his back. She also used to make her friends skip school just to play with them before their parents forbade them from playing with her after their children were put in danger.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Alma is raised by the most powerful beings in the world and has servants meeting her every need and desire, but she's a kindhearted girl who deeply cares about her friends and family, despite being a little mischievous at times.
  • Straying Baby: As an infant, she tends to try and wander off to explore the Hall of Origin whenever the Legendaries and Mythicals take their eyes off of her. Because of this, the Legendaries and Mythicals watch over her carefully when they're with her. In Chapter 9, she manages to explore the building after getting away from Volcanion and Magearna while they're auguring. The Legendary and Mythical Pokémon soon order the guards to look for her and bring her back.
  • Token Human: She's the only human in the Hall of Origin, while everyone else are Pokémon.

Legendary and Mythical Pokémon

    In General
They're the gods of the Pokémon world and Alma's adoptive family. They keep the world in balance while residing at their home in the Hall of Origin, a place where many kinds of Pokémon live with them as well, either as servants or guards. Prior to the events of the story, the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon helped Ash fight against Cain and his army of his creations to stop him from destroying the world. Unfortunately, Ash had to sacrifice himself to stop Cain's machine, causing the Legendaries and Mythicals to withdraw from humanity most of the time after losing their most cherished human friend, who saved them countless times.
  • Berserk Button: The mere sight of Cain can cause many of them to growl, even if it's just at a watery image of him and not the real deal. However, it's justified since Cain did nearly destroy the world and was the one responsible for Ash's death.
  • Fantasy Pantheon: Unlike in canon, where there's no mention of the Legendaries and Mythicals being a pantheon, they all work together to keep the world in peace and balance.
  • God Is Flawed: As stated by Kyurem, the Legendaries and Mythicals are no better than the humans, as they can just be as petty and childish as the latter.
  • Interspecies Friendship: In the past, they all had close friendships with humans, with some of them even being considered to be members of human families. Their most closest human friend was Ash Ketchum, The Chosen One, who saved their lives countless times and also simply helped them with their problems. However, at present they've withdrawn from humans after losing Ash and their other human friends.
  • My Greatest Failure: They deeply feel that they could have done more to help Ash so he wouldn't have to make a Heroic Sacrifice to stop Cain and his machine.
  • Nice to the Waiter: Their interactions with their servants and guards are shown to be nothing but kindness and respect. In return, the ordinary Pokémon are loyal to the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon and feel it's an honor to serve the most powerful beings in the world.
  • Parental Substitute: A family example. They all raised Alma since the day she was born and taught her how to be a good person.
  • Physical God: While they're powerful and have immortal lifespans in theory, they can still get injured and be killed if they're not careful.
  • So Proud of You: When Ash finally achieves his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master, the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are there at the time, proud of the human who they call their friend. To them, Ash has earned his title more than anyone else.

    Arceus
The Alpha Pokémon and the one who created the whole universe. He decided that Alma would be raised by the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
  • God: He created the whole universe by himself and is called the Alpha Pokémon. According to the other Pokémon, Arceus' words are law, regardless of how any of them feel about it.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Arceus is mostly white with some gold and is both the most powerful Pokémon in the world and the leader of the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
  • The Patriarch: Arceus seems to be the one in charge of the family, which makes sense since he is the oldest being in the world.
  • Top God: He's the Alpha Pokémon, and his words are considered law by everyone.

    Cobalion
The Iron Will Pokémon and the leader of the Swords of Justice. He's also the adoptive father of Keldeo.
  • Blue Is Heroic: He's the leader of the Swords of Justice and has blue fur.
  • Stern Teacher: Cobalion is known to be quite strict towards his students, but this is mostly because he wants them to grow stronger.

Humans

    Ash Ketchum
A human who was close friends with the Legendaris years ago and the Chosen One before his death. A year before his death, Ash became the Pokémon Master at the age of 23.
  • The Ace: In his life, he was the Pokémon Master, saved the world countless times, battled in the Pokémon Leagues, and had managed to befriend the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon in his childhood.
  • Age Lift: Ash is a grown man in the story, while in canon he's still a ten-year-old kid.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: He had a romantic relationship with Serena before he eventually married her just before his death.
  • The Chosen One: As in the canon series, Ash was the Chosen One and had help saving the world countless times before his untimely death.
  • Daddy Had a Good Reason for Abandoning You: He had to sacrifice himself so that his newborn daughter could live in a world where humans and Pokémon could live together.
  • Death by Adaptation: He died before the events of the story after his Heroic Sacrifice to stop Cain and his machine from destroying the world Ash loved.
  • Disappeared Dad: Ash gave up his life when his daughter was still just a newborn infant, making him miss out on her life.
  • Good Parents: Despite the short time he had with her, Ash loved his daughter so much that he sacrificed his life just so she could have a better future.
  • Happily Married: Ash and Serena were deeply in love and were happy in their marriage.
  • Hero of Another Story: Prior to the events of the story, Ash had fought against evil villain groups, saved the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, stopped the destruction of the world, and batteled against Cain and destroyed the latter's machine. The Human World has even passed down Ash's heroic deeds through the generations.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Ash gave up his own life to stop Cain from destroying the world by using his aura.
  • Kid Hero All Grown-Up: Ash was in his early-mid twenties when he won the title of Pokémon Master and when he fought Cain before he sacrificed himself in the battle.
  • Nice Guy: Just like in the canon series, Ash was pretty much a friendly guy towards both humans and Pokémon. In Chapter 1 of Pokémon: Colors of the Roses, after Mew and Mewtwo were attacked by hunters, he welcomed both of them into his home and healed their injuries.
  • Pals with Jesus: Had a close relationship with the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon of the world.
  • Parental Abandonment: Shortly after Serena's death, Ash had to give up his own life to stop Cain. This decision also caused him to leave behind his newborn daughter.
  • Posthumous Character: By the time story takes place, Ash and his friends are all deceased. However, this is justified since it has been years after the battle with Cain.

    Serena
A Pokémon Performer who became the very first Performer Queen in her early adult years. She was also an old traveling companion and the childhood friend of Ash Ketchum. She and Ash were romantically involved before the battle with Cain.
  • The Ace: She was the first Performer to win the title of Performer Queen after she won the title of Kalos Queen.
  • Age Lift: In the story, Serena is described as a young adult woman instead of a ten-year-old girl. Also, unlike in canon, where Regions allow children to start their journeys by themselves at the age of 10, Kalos in this story used to allow trainers to leave at 14. Thus, Serena was a young teenager when she started her Pokémon journey and reunited with Ash.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Both she and Ash were romantically involved and got married before things went wrong when Cain ruined everything.
  • Death by Adaptation: Like Ash and the rest of their friends, Serena died prior to the events of the story. Justified, given it has been years by the time story takes place.
  • Death by Childbirth: She died after giving birth to her daughter.
  • Happily Married: Serena and Ash were deeply in love and were truly happy during their marriage.
  • Missing Mom: To her daughter, who Serena never got to see grow up after dying from giving birth to her.
  • Nice Girl: Like her canon counterpart, Serena was a kindhearted woman who cared deeply for others.
  • Posthumous Character: Like Ash and all the others, she's long dead by the present of the story.

Villains

    Cain
Cain is a former scientist who, many years ago, created a powerful but dangerous machine that gave humans the abilities of Pokémon. Currently, he's hiding to avoid judgement from the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon after he nearly destroyed the world and caused the death of Ash Ketchum.
  • Body Horror: After his machine explodes, with him being near it, Cain's entire body gains Pokémon body parts, making him look like some kind of monster.
  • Hero Killer: While he didn't directly kill Ash, Cain is still responsible for his death, as Ash had to give up his life to stop Cain's machine.
  • Mad Laugh: After his machine explodes and his body is transformed into something horrible, Cain loses it and laughes madly, which is his first step going down a horrible path of darkness.
  • Mad Scientist: Cain creates a machine that can give humans the powers and abilities of Pokémon, but his beloved creation is too dangerous, as it gives humans Pokémon body parts and makes it impossible for their bodies to return to their original state.
  • Sanity Slippage: According to Cobalion, his mind was shattered after his machine exploded and he realized what happened to his body.
  • Self-Imposed Exile: He places himself in self-exile to escape punishment from the Legendaries and Mythicals.
  • Was Once a Man: In the past, Cain was a normal-looking (if not handsome) human. However, this would change after his machine exploded, giving him a body of Pokémon parts to the point that the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon now call him a monster.
  • White Mask of Doom: He wears a white mask to hide his now monsterous face from others.

    Rosalind
A woman who's working for Cain as a scientist.
  • Big Eater: Many of her scenes have her eating ramen noodles.
  • Curtains Match the Window: She has red hair and red eyes.
  • Evil Redhead: She's a redhead who's working for a man that nearly destroyed the world years ago. She even enjoys the horrified looks on people's faces when they first see Cain's creations.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She's working for the enemy of the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon and has red eyes.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Ramen noodles appear to be her favorite, as many of her eating scenes have her eating them.

  • Enemy to All Living Things: Rosalind mentions that Adrien hates Pokémon and can't stand being in the same room with them.
  • Parental Abandonment: It's unknown what happened to his parents that led to him becoming the young ward of someone like Cain.
