Rosalya is one of Candy's classmates and Leigh's girlfriend. She's an energetic girl with a mischievous side to her. She can't stand injustice and will never choose a side without finding out all the facts first.
  • The Ace: She's beautiful, a gifted seamstress, and Candy's go-to gal whenever Candy needs help, whether it be getting a picture of a guy Candy likes or planning and enacting a revenge scheme.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: She has a hotheaded streak and has no issue at all sharing her opinion when angered, whatever it may be.
  • Informed Attractiveness: Rosalya is allegedly the most beautiful in school, but all of the characters are drawn to be attractive in some way. This makes it hard to tell if Candy is telling the truth or not.
  • Spoiled Brat: Downplayed; when it comes to costumes and fashion, she can be quite demanding and childish. However, when her behavior is pointed out, she'll quickly apologize and make-up for her attitude.

    Kim

Kim is a friendly and dependable girl who comes through whenever Candy needs her. She appears to live an exciting life outside of school that Candy is curious about, but she can't stand drama and prefers to stay out of it. Kim is usually easygoing and laid back, but make her mad and she can whip out some pretty sharp insults.

In "University Life" and "Love Life", she works at a local gym.

  • Cool Big Sis: While she and Candy are the same age, Kim will often act like a big sister to Candy, especially after both of them graduate high school. She's supportive of Candy and will often tease Candy about her minimal appearance's at the gym Kim works at.
  • Tomboy: She's sporty and prefers wearing shorts and shirts over skirts and dresses.

    Nina

Nina

To view her LL sprite, clickhere
In "High School Life", Nina is an energetic and cheerful middle-school kid with a raging crush on Lysander. She proclaims herself to be his Number One fan and, as such, will try to get between her crush and Candy if she thinks anything romantic is going on between them.

In "University Life", Nina is a high school student who forms something of a friendship with Candy.

In "Love Life", Nina works at the Cosy Bear Cafe and while also being a student at Anteros Academy. She'll often make out-of-the-box suggestions to Candy about events to hold or updates her boss can make to the cafe.

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's smitten with Lysander and will hate Candy if she believes there's anything between the two of them.
  • Cute and Psycho: She's cute and mostly upbeat and cheerful. However, if she thinks that Candy likes Lysander and that he likes her back, then a much more scary side of Nina comes out.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Her "High School Life" sprite shows her wearing a predominately black dress with matching wrist gloves and a small black top-hat. Combined, it gives a darkly elegant aesthetic, even though Nina herself is anything but dark or elegant.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She generally wears her hair back into two low-hanging pigtails, emphasizing her childish tendencies.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Her crush on Lysander isn't taken seriously by him; he humors her because he assumes that she'll grow out it. In later episodes of "High School Life", her unwanted affection increasingly grates on his nerves.
  • Precocious Crush: As a middle school student, she had a huge crush on Lysander, a high school student.
  • Stalker with a Crush: When she was in middle school, she was absolutely infatuated with Lysander to the point of following him around the city.

    Amber

Amber

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amber_hsl_1.png
To view her UL sprite, clickhere
In "High School Life", Amber is Sweet Amoris' resident mean girl. From the outset, she makes it clear she doesn't like Candy and there is little Candy can do to get her to change her mind. She is who she is and she isn't afraid to show it, unless acting innocent gives her an advantage. Still, despite her unpleasant tendencies, there are hints that she's not completely rotten to the core. Her two best friends are Charlotte and Li. She is the younger twin sister of Nathaniel, whom she has a complicated relationship with.

In "University Life", Amber comes back into Candy's life as a struggling model. During the intervening years, she did some soul-searching and has realized that her treatment of Candy was abhorrent. She wants to bury the hatchet and start fresh.

  • Alpha Bitch: In "High School Life", she is a rich, haughty bully with her own girl posse.
  • Attention Whore: She loves being the center of attention, for good or bad. She goes so far as to lock Candy into the basement on the off chance that it'll give herself a better shot at getting the leading role in their school's play.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She has a crush on Castiel, and prefers to take out her jealousy at Candy's closeness to him on Candy instead of talking about it with Castiel.
  • Dumb Blonde: She's a blonde who tries to cheat her way into good grades because she can't get them organically.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Amber may be an obnoxious bully and general pain in the neck, but her tactics are never underhanded. Learning that Deborah manipulated the entire student body into believing she's actually nice and a victim and Candy is a bully manages to rattle Amber's nerves a bit.
  • Informed Attribute: She's stated to be the most popular girl at Sweet Amoris, but plenty of her classmates don't seem to like her or even want to be around her.
  • It's All About Me: She's convinced Nathaniel's duty as the student body president is to let her get away with everything, and calling her out makes him unworthy of the position.
  • Parental Favoritism: Amber gets doted on by their parents while her brother Nathaniel is either ignored and even beaten.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: From the get go, Amber views Candy as her adversary, often being the instigator between the two.
  • Smug Snake: She looks down at Candy with haughty condescension, and treats her friends little better.
  • Spell My Name With An S: The last two letters of her name are arranged differently between one version of the game to the next.
  • Spoiled Brat: Her wealthy parents let her get away with essentially whatever she wanted.
  • Sticky Fingers: Her main method of bullying is by stealing something from her victim: Candy's money and snacks, Kentin's money, Melody's snacks, Dajan's necklace, a stamp, etc.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: During childhood, Amber was the nicer twin and Nathaniel the bully. His bullying combined with her parent's doting turned her into the spoiled brat that Candy meets in high school. When Candy returns to the city, Amber's initially kind personality has more or less overshadowed her previously nasty attitude.

    Melody

Melody

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/melody_hsl.png
To view her UL sprite, clickhere
Melody is a delegate in Sweet Amoris' student council. She's a nice, smart girl who is friendly to Candy from the moment they meet, even inviting her to her slumber party. However, she has a huge crush on Nathaniel and, even though she's already been rejected, she still holds out hope that one day he'll return her feelings. As such, those following Nathaniel's route will have to be careful around Melody.

After graduating from high school, Melody got into Anteros Academy, becoming a regular student as well as an assistant to Rayan.

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Melody becomes incredibly passive-aggressive almost every time she sees Candy near Nathaniel. She'll make wild accusations that are plainly not true if it means convincing herself that Candy isn't right for Nathaniel. This reaches its boiling point if you're on Nathaniel's route and she finds out Candy and Nathaniel are dating. She absolutely refuses to believe it's true at first.
  • Dogged Nice Girl: At some point in the past, she confessed her feelings to Nathaniel who politely turned her down. Despite this, she holds out hope that her crush will be returned one day. In the meantime, she'll do anything for him even though it doesn't earn her any brownie points.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Melody has had a huge crush on Nathaniel for a long time. She even confessed to him at some point before Candy's transfer, but was rejected. Despite that, Melody still hangs on to her feelings for Nathaniel.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She's usually a sweet girl, but if she gets the vaguest hint that Candy's showing any romantic interest in Nathaniel, she grows very distant and cold. At one point, she even accuses Candy of being just like Amber, despite the fact that that's plainly not true. If you're on Nathaniel's route, she'll refuse to believe that Candy and Nathaniel are dating at first, even screaming at Candy. When she does accept it, she becomes noticeably curt with Candy.

"High School Life" and "Love Life"

    Violette

Violette

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/violette_hsl.png
To view her LL sprite, clickhere
A shy, artsy girl, Violette is pretty quiet and mostly keeps to herself. Her timid exterior hides a kind soul; the more she talks to Candy, the more she comes out of her shell. She's very talented in drawing and sewing and almost always carries around an art board.

After high school, she became a professional artist, working under the name Aster.

  • Beware the Quiet Ones: When Capucine badmouths Candy in front of her by saying Candy's holding her back, the normally quiet and reserved Violette shouts at Capucine that Candy is her friend.
  • Character Development: She slowly grows out of her shell the more Candy interacts with her.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother died a few months before the start of "High School Life".
  • Security Blanket: She has a stuffed animal she carries around with her for comfort.
  • Shrinking Violet: She's very shy, quiet, and introverted.

Chani becomes one of Candy's first friends at the academy.
  • Perky Goth: She's a goodhumored woman who has a goth/witch aesthetic.

    Yeleen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yeleen_ul.png
To view her LL sprite, clickhere
Yeleen is Candy's prickly roommate during the latter's stay at Anteros Academy.
  • Hidden Depths: Yeleen's antagonism is partially a result of her mother's overbearing parenting. Yeleen's mother wants her daughter to become an art curator like she did, but she pushes Yeleen to do so in ways that are detrimental to Yeleen's mental health. Yeleen's mother constantly breaking her promises help even less.

"High School Life" only

    Li

Li

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/li_hsl.png
Li is one-half of Amber's posse. Like Amber, she dislikes Candy and will often pick on her regardless of whether or not Amber is present.
  • Asian Airhead: She's Asian and not very intelligent.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Li has straight black hair and pale skin.
  • Undying Loyalty: Initially, Li would help Amber out in bullying Candy, no matter if the request was mean-spirited. After Charlotte leaves, though, Li is seen arguing with Amber more frequently.

    Charlotte

Charlotte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charlotte_hsl.png
Charlotte is one-half of Amber's posse. She's the most mysterious of the two, not interacting much with Candy.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Charlotte is a brunette who is the most enigmatic of Amber's posse. Unlike Amber and Li, Charlotte doesn't go out of her way to pick on Candy.
  • Jerkass: She's friends with someone who's an overt bully, and wpon finding out that Iris was (unwittingly and briefly) dating her boyfriend, Charlotte's reaction was to blackmail Iris into ruining her own life.

    Iris

Iris

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iris_67.png
Iris is the first friendly girl Candy meets at Sweet Amoris and she quickly becomes Candy's first friend there. Iris is a ditzy, kind girl who always manages to cheer Candy up whenever Amber's words get her down.
  • Book Dumb: She's not very academically inclined, with her grades in history and math being the worst overall.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: She's absentminded, often forgetting where she's placed things or picking up a requested item.
  • Demoted to Extra: Iris initially had a story and gameplay related function: she welcomed Candy to Sweet Amoris and became her best friend, helping to raise Candy's morale after any interactions with Amber lowered it. However, the morale mechanic was discarded a few episodes afterward and once Rosalya's introduced, she becomes Candy's default best friend instead of Iris. This led to Iris appearing less in much of "High School Life"'s later episodes.
  • Disappeared Dad: She and her brother, Thomas, live with their divorced mother. Iris doesn't mention her dad much, if at all, and he doesn't appear at the school's open house.

    Peggy

Peggy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peggy_hsl.png
Peggy is a reporter for Sweet Amoris' school newspaper. She'll do anything to get the latest and greatest story and will constantly bother whoever she can for the juicy details. Thanks to her ruthless pursuit of reportable stories, Peggy has a tendency to let her job blind her from doing what's right. She's fairly harmless otherwise.
  • Foil: Both Peggy and Candy are nosy and like to get involved in other people's business. Unlike Candy, Peggy doesn't really care how her own snooping affects people, and will gladly publish basically any information she gets, regardless of how true it is.
  • Brutal Honesty: She doesn't mince her words.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Most of the students have a distaste for Peggy and her nosy, reporter tendencies. Even after she becomes Candy's friend, Peggy's tendency to fall back on her old style of reporting (mainly being ruthlessly inquisitive to the point of being intrusive) gets on Candy's nerves.
  • Friendless Background: It's clear that Peggy wasn't close to anyone in the school before Candy came along. Candy even notes that Peggy must be feeling lonely since she's left out of many events. However, to hear Peggy tell it, she cares more about her journalism than making friends. It isn't until Candy starts actively being nice to her that Peggy realizes it's better to have friends than to be alone all the time.
  • It's All About Me: Even when she does nice things to or for people, there's usually a selfish motivation behind it. She also doesn't care about the feelings of others so long as it means getting an article out, regardless of how true it is.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she generally cares more about having a story regardless of the facts, she does become contrite once she notices the negative effects that her actions have wrought.
  • Never My Fault: She placed the blame for her sensationalist articles on her victims, typically by saying they shouldn't have done so-and-so in the first place if they didn't want her to write about it. After the Deborah debacle, though, she appears to have learned to take responsibility for writing false articles.
  • School Newspaper Newshound: She's Sweet Amoris' newspaper reporter. She will do anything for a great story and won't take no for an answer.

    Capucine

Capucine

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/capucine_0.png
Capucine is a quiet and mysterious girl who is a fan of Amber's. As such, she deliberately gets on Candy's nerves in the hopes that Amber will befriend her.
  • Dub Name Change: Her name is different between multiple language versions of the game: "Karla" (Spanish), "Klementyna" (Polish), "Bia" (Brazilian), "Carla" (German), and "Daisy" (UK).
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Due to her wish to become a part of Amber's group, she isn't all that close to her other classmates, but she still hangs out with them from time to time. Amber herself isn't impressed by Capucine's sycophantic behavior, but puts up with it because at least that's one other person who dislikes Candy.
  • Hidden Depths: She's knowledgeable about art, and she's one of a small group of characters to already be in a committed relationship. Unlike those other characters, her romantic partner- a boy named Samuel- isn't sterotypically attractive and his doting on Capucine can be a bit corny.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: She wants to be liked, but she doesn't know how, and goes about it the wrong way by imitating Amber.

    Deborah

Deborah

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deborah_hsl.png
Deborah used to attend Sweet Amoris and was even Castiel's girlfriend, but dropped both after getting a record deal as a solo artist.
  • Attention Whore: She dropped her boyfriend when she got a deal for a solo career purely so she could have the spotlight to herself. Despite thinking everyone around her are idiots, she loves it when people shower her with concern when she manages to make it seem like Candy is bullying her instead of the other way around.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Almost all of her former classmates are happy to see her visit Sweet Amoris, not realizing that Deborah secretly loathes them all. She pretends to be pleasant and nice because she wants the attention.
  • Crocodile Tears: She can summon fake tears at will whenever she needs to play the victim.
  • Dub Name Change: Her name is "Deborah" in the US version, and simply "Debbie" on the UK site.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She tells Candy the story of her horrendous deeds because she knows Candy can't do anything about it. She has almost everyone in the school wrapped around her finger and the few who actually know her true personality are in the same boat as Candy.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: She believes herself to be a great singer, but when she made it big, her sales weren't that great. This is why her manager was okay with dropping her when she said she thinks she found a better deal.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: There are a rare number of students at Sweet Amoris knows what she's actually like, and her good reputation is what gives Candy a difficult time with forming allies.

    Lucy

Lucy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucy_2.png
A friend from Candy's former school. Lucy is sweet, pretty, and appears to be very popular with the boys. Candy reunites with her at a mall while she's doing what she does best: looking for a new boyfriend. At first, she sets her sights on Dakota but when Candy makes the mistake of telling Lucy about the boys from Sweet Amoris, Lucy reintegrates herself into Candy's life.
  • The Casanova: She rattles off a list of boys she dated after Candy transferred to Sweet Amoris, and assumes a week of being single is a tragedy. She also sneaks into Sweet Amoris to flirt with every guy Candy knows after Candy tells her about them.
  • Drama Queen: When it comes to her love life, she can be a bit dramatic. Even if she never gets with a guy, Lucy will moan and groan about having a broken heart and how tragic it is that a great and powerful love ended so soon. She'll immediately cheer up once she sees another cute and single guy.
  • Dub Name Change: Her original French name is Laeti. This was changed to "Lucy" for the English translation as Laeti isn't a common name in the US or UK.
  • Foil: Lucy's frank and proactive attitude towards dating and romance is very different from Candy's. Candy is pretty oblivious when it comes to flirting, is fairly indecisive when it comes to who she likes, and- once she does fall for one of the boys- she's too shy to approach him without a lot of encouragement. This is in stark contrast to Lucy, who believes hates being single, instantly becomes infatuated with the first handsome guy she sees, and is a shameless flirt.
  • Genius Ditz: She's mostly clueless about anything that isn't related to romance or flirting. Considering her long dating history, it's fair to say that Lucy knows how to make boys fall for her.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Her teasing Kentin about his new appearance compared to his old one is meant in good fun, but she doesn't realize that his self-esteem is still fragile, nor that he wants to be reminded of his former self.
  • Nice Girl: She genuinely gets along well with Candy. In fact if you have Candy tell her she likes Dakota, Lucy will immediately back off.
  • Wingding Eyes: The shines in her eyes turn into hearts whenever she sees a cute boy.

"Love Life" only

    Yael
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yael.png
Yael is Candy's main art agent for the Cosy Bear's art gallery.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Yael is congenial and friendly whenever she isn't in "art hound" mode. When she is, she's quite ruthless when it comes to making a favorable deal.
