Spoilers for all stories in the Marvel Cinematic Fanfiction Universe are unmarked. Spoilers for Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home are marked.

"There are plenty who can do a much better job than they do. Captain Marvel, Beta Ray Bill, the Avengers. The Guardians... Their name is overly self important for the purpose they serve in the universe. Besides, they have slighted us, destroyed our property, and cost our people greatly. They're murderers, thieves, scoundrels, liars. What kind of 'Guardians' are those?"

In General

  • Ragtag Band of Misfits: None of them have exact same background or talents, but they come together to fight cosmic threats nonetheless.

Team Members

Active Guardians

     Adam

For the canon tropes regarding Adam, see MCU: Sovereign.

Birth Name: Adam

Known Aliases: Warlock

Species: Sovereign

Citizenship: Sovereign

Original Reality: Earth-62338

Affiliation(s): Sovereign (Formerly), Guardians of the Galaxy

Portrayed By: Ewan McGregor

Appearances: Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, Sam Wilson: Captain America, Captain Marvel: Phalanx

"What I can do, the magic I can conjure, should be beyond a being as new as me. Arokine says that I possess great mystical potential, and he speaks with pride. Raker says that I possess great mystical potential, and he speaks with envy. The Matriarch says that I possess great mystical potential, and she speaks with wrath. Arokine sees me as a student, Raker sees me as a tool, Ayesha sees me as a weapon. Are they right? What am I?"

A being created by Ayesha to invoke an ancient prophecy about a being known as the Warlock and destined to use the Soul Stone in her quest to destroy the Guardians of the Galaxy. He, however, began to question his purpose as the Warlock, who was meant to defend the Sovereign people rather than be used as a weapon. After meeting Eafen and a discussion with a cosmic being, he eventually went on to join the Guardians.

  • Age-Gap Romance: Adam was born a few days prior, whilst Eafen is an adult. Downplayed in that Adam was created as an adult.
  • Amazing Technicolour Population: He's gold.
  • Badass Cape: He borrows the Cloak of Levitation for a period of time.
  • Battle Couple: With Eafen.
  • The Chosen One: He is decreed to be this for the Sovereign, destined to protect the people.
  • Decomposite Character: His similarities to Vision are invoked by Vision in-universe, with the synthezoid noting they have suspiciously similar origins and purposes.
  • Functional Magic: One of his natural abilities, enhanced by the Soul Stone.
  • Good Is Not Soft: After some debate with Eafen, both of them agree that the best path to stop the Magus is the destruction of the Sovereign's planet.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: While he takes time to figure out who he needs to be, he gets to the genuinely good person inside with ease.
  • Leitmotif: Starman by David Bowie serves as Adam's, even showing up in-universe on Eafen's phone.
  • Meaningful Name: Adam was created as a perfect being that went on to disappoint his creator with imperfection, whether actual or perceived.
  • The Philosopher: Adam's first dedicated scene is him debating what his purpose in the universe is, with late conversations with both Eafen, Vision, and the Silver Surfer expanding on this concept.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: He and Eafen.

Soul Stone

Appearances: Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime), Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, Sam Wilson: Captain America, Captain Marvel: Phalanx, MCFFU One-Shots

Designer(s):: Unknown

Wielders: Thanos-842667, Tony Stark, The Magus, Adam Warlock

"I... The Mind Stone was one thing. It gave me knowledge, allowed me to predict people's thoughts, gave me mild psychic abilities. But Reality? I can feel the universe, Wanda. It terrifies me. I can feel the rain, I can command it. I believe I can command anything if I try hard enough."
Vision on the Reality Stone, Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime)

One of the six Infinity Stones offering governance over an aspect of the universe.

  • Equivalent Exchange: The Soul Stone's price. For it to be wielded, someone must have traded their soul for it. Gamora is the initial sacrifice for Earth-62338, but Bruce ends up gambling with the universe to take her place before his soul is shattered by conflicting Infinity Stone energies.
  • Power Crystal: An orange one.
  • Sentient Phlebotinum: As with all the Stones, it contains a personality. Soul is unique, however, in the fact that it has two: Warlock and Magus.
  • Soul Power: Natch, given the name.

     Corvus Glaive

For the canon tropes regarding Corvus, see MCU: Thanos's Forces.

Birth Name: Corvus

Known Aliases: Corvus Glaive

Species: Gnuehc

Citizenship: Namkcii (Formerly)

Original Reality: Earth-62338

Affiliation(s): Black Order (Formerly), Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy

Portrayed By: Michael James Shaw

Appearances: Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime), Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, Sam Wilson: Captain America, Captain Marvel: Phalanx, MCFFU One-Shots

"My name is Corvus Glaive. I once served Thanos. It cost me my wife."

Born simply as Corvus on the planet Namkcih, he was chosen by his people to be the final bearer of the Glaive of Gnuehc. Surviving the extinction of his race alongside his brother, Cull Obsidian, he joined Thanos and his Black Order in a quest to balance the universe. Falling in love and marrying fellow member of the Order, Proxima Midnight, Corvus continued in Thanos' service as he started his quest for the Infinity Stones. Surviving the Infinity War thanks to his immortality, Glaive journeyed to his master's retreat in hopes that Thanos would bring his wife back to life with the power of the Infinity Gauntlet. Upon Thanos' refusal, Corvus sought out the Avengers and offered his help in fixing the universe in return for getting Proxima back. Journeying to a reality that mirrored his past to obtain the Mind Stone, Corvus aborted the mission in hopes that his team would survive. Returning to his home reality, Glaive was horrified to discover that the Thanos of the other reality followed his team. Joining the Avengers in the final battle, he created the plan that finally put an end to the Mad Titan. Joining up with the Guardians of the Galaxy in the aftermath of the battle to safeguard the Soul Stone, Corvus took over leadership of the team upon Peter Quill's retirement.

  • Adaptational Badass: From Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He gains the Resurrective Immortality that his comic counterpart has that his canon counterpart lacked.
  • Ascended Extra: Corvus goes from what is essentially an Elite Mook in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to a Deuteragonist in Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime).
  • Bash Brothers: A literal example with his Big Little Brother Cull.
  • Batman Gambit: Thanos-842667, like his Prime counterpart, didn't raise his children to lie, so he automatically believes that Corvus was a Double Agent all along. Unfortunately for him. Corvus, unlike Gamora and Nebula, has had millennia to pick up the skill on his own.
  • Breaking the Cycle of Bad Parenting: Corvus, despite being a fairly unwilling stand-in father for the Guardians, still lovingly refers to them as his and Proxima's kids, treating them with the care and respect that Thanos never did for him.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Wears black constantly and is named for a black bird, but is safely a moral and decently heroic character.
  • A Father to His Men: He refers to the other Guardians as his and his wife's children.
  • Feel No Pain: Proxima says that he can turn off his pain receptors. However, dialogue between Cull and Corvus during the Guardians' assault on the Sovereign implies that this is a lie he told his wife.
  • Flashback Cut: He is implied to have one of these to his first being bonded to his glaive every time he dies.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Joins the Avengers in the fight against his former master to save his wife.
  • The Leader: The Mastermind for both the Black Order and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Fast, and able to take on the likes of Thanos in a relatively fair fight.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Corvus' reaction to being impaled by the Universal Church of Truth? A single grunt.
  • Not So Above It All: Sings a single line of Crocodile Rock to mess with his drunk wife and the Guardians.
  • Only Sane Man: He and his wife serve as this for the Guardians, but Proxima's Blood Knight tendencies sometimes leave him as the only voice of reason.
  • Single Tear: Glaive sheds one after looking at a picture of himself and the rest of the Black Order playing with the young Gamora.
  • Shout-Out: His species is his designer Jim Cheung's last name backwards.
  • Straight Man: Corvus serves as a tired dad for the Guardians, contrasting their antics with his professional and serious attitude.
  • The Strategist: His defining trait is his tactical mind, and he's the one to make the plan to defeat Thanos-842667.
  • They Call Him "Sword": Named for his glaive.
  • Undying Loyalty: Pun aside, he will stop at nothing to protect his family.

Former Guardians

     Gamora

For the canon tropes regarding Gamora, see MCU: Gamora.

Birth Name: Gamora

Known Aliases: The Favoured Daughter of Thanos

Species: Zehoberei

Citizenship: Zehoberei

Original Reality: Earth-62338

Affiliation(s): Black Order (Formerly), Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy

"When this over, when this is all done, I think I need to leave the Guardians. I want to go to my homeworld and try to help my people finally rebuild what was stolen from them. I want you to come with me. Please."

After her death at the hands of Thanos, Gamora was sent into the Soul Stone. Destroyed along with the Infinity Stones, Gamora was eventually returned to life by Bruce Banner three years later. Joining the Avengers in the fight against an alternate Thanos, she later rejoined the Guardians of the Galaxy for one last mission.

     Rocket Raccoon

For the canon tropes regarding Gamora, see MCU: Rocket Raccoon.

Birth Name: RocketRaccoon

Species: Halfworlder

Citizenship:

Original Reality: Earth-62338

Affiliation(s): Comic Book/Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers

Portrayed By: Bradley Cooper

Appearances: Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime)

The sole survivor of the Guardians of the Galaxy after the events of Infinity War, Rocket Raccoon presses on with the Avengers as they try to undo Thanos's actions. He joined the Avengers when they attacked Thanos in the Garden and witnessed him destroying the Infinity Stones before them. He was able to reunite with Groot as part of Strange's plan to save the universe. He and Groot came along with Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff as they were sent to Vormir for the Soul Stone. When they heard from Red Skull about the price one must pay to obtain the Soul Stone, Steve Rogers resolved himself to be the one to pay it only for Rocket to already be on the precipice where he takes the fall instead.

  • Act of True Love: Rocket's sacrifice on Vormir is rooted in his faith in Groot and the Avengers to bring his family back without him.]
  • Death by Adaptation: Rocket Raccoon lived through the events of Endgame in the movie. But in this fanfic, Rocket Raccoon ends up sacrificing himself in Vormir so that the Avengers could get the Soul Stone
  • Foil: Surprisingly turns out to be this to Thanos. Whereas Thanos sacrifices his child Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone, Rocket Raccoon sacrifices himself instead for his child Groot which even Red Skull notes
  • Heroic Sacrifice:[[When it seems that Steve Rogers was willing to make the sacrifice so that the Avengers could take the Soul Stone, Rocket has blasted Groot away and makes the sacrifice first.
  • I Am Not Weasel: The trend of mistaking Rocket Raccoon for any other animal besides what he is continues with Thor calling him a rabbit and Anubis calling him a jackal.
  • Parental Substitute: He is basically Baby Groot's dad. Even Groot's words when Rocket Raccoon sacrificed himself so that he could get the Soul Stone was, "Why, Dad, why?"

"Show time, a-holes!"
