  • Adaptational Heroism: He's rather set in his ways as a heroic figure. Word of God confirms that it's because the author was tired of Magneto constantly going back to villainy.
  • Extra-ore-dinary: Naturally for the character.
  • Genocide Survivor: He's a Holocaust survivor.
  • Logical Weakness: He can't manipulate mystical or enchanted metal, which includes vibranium.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Erik notes that Wanda reminds him of her late wife and himself. Wanda is also told she is the daughter of an 'Erik' on Vormir.
  • Older Than They Look: He maintains his status as a Holocaust survivor despite being alive in 2021 due to how Mutant aging works.
  • Shooting Superman: Hydra's plan to kill Magneto? Shoot him with a metal bullet.
  • Slave Brand: Erik's arm is tattooed with the number "24005" as given to him during the Holocaust.
