The main heroine and the woman from the future who seeks true love.
- Babies Ever After: Played straight and downplayed. At the end of the novel, Chun Hua and Shangguan Qiuyue have two sons and one adopted daughter together. One of their sons will be like Shangguan Qiuyue, who protects his sister and the other son will be like Chun Hua.
- Better as Friends: At the end of the novel and series, she and Xiao Bai realizes they never met be together and decides that they should stay friends.
- Broken Tears: She grieve over You Si's death when she commit suicide in order to be with Fu Lou in the afterlife.
- Distinguishing Mark: According to Shangguan Qiuyue, she has a pink birthmark shaped like a bud on the right chest. Subverted in the episode 9 where it turns out it's really a scar which foreshadows that she is really Hua Xiaolei.
- Forgotten First Meeting: Chun Hua doesn't remember her first meeting with Shangguan Qiuyue at the Baxian pavilion until episode 31 where she recognize his hairpin he wore at the Baxian pavilion.
- Identity Amnesia: Subverted. She pretends to have amnesia since she no idea the body she took over and what Hua Xiaolei was like after arriving in the fantasy-like wuxia world.
- Identical Stranger: She bares a strong resemblances to Xiao Bai's finance until episode 9, where it was revealed that they are the same person.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: She originally wore half-up braided buns when she first woke up in the fantasy-like timeline, but after Fu and Si's deaths, she wears one-sided bun on her right side showing that she is not Hua Xiaolei.
- Has a Type: She prefer her Mr. Right to be very handsome, devoted, and powerful, spoil her, very sweet, charisma, decisive, he can be like Mary Sue, elusive, and not too old school. This is the requirements she wants for her love journey when the System asks her.
- Heroic BSoD:
- After Fu Lou and You Si's tragic deaths, she becomes very depressed over their deaths to the point she leave Xiao Bei and join Shangguan Qiuyue's side since she doesn't want to see him.
- She becomes depress again after she caught the love entanglement disease from Gu Wan. As the result, she can't no longer trust Shangguan Qiuyue's words and love him anymore.
- Memento MacGuffin: Qiuyue gives Chun Hua his hairpin as a last reminder and parting gift when he thinks she betrays him by having Xiao Bai almost kill him.
- Not Blood Siblings: When she met Shangguan Qiuyue, she thought he was her brother without realizing they not related each other until episode 9. Although she still treats Qiuyue as her brother especially when they enter into relationship in episode 30.
- Official Couple: With Shangguan Qiuyue in episode 31 after she realizes the first person she saw is Qiuyue.
- Possessing a Dead Body: An unintentionally and heroic example. She possess of dead body of Hua Xiaolei after death.
- The Un-Reveal: Chun Hua is not her real name and was given by Shangguan Qiuyue. It is currently unknown what was her real name in her own timeline.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: She does this to everyone including Xiao Bai after Fu Lou and You Si's death. First, she tells off the people who wanted Fu Lou dead instead of let him and his wife, You Si to live their life together. Second, she tells them off that they only care for longevity nut and they only think for themselves without caring for other people get hurt or kill. She even tell them the longevity nut is fake. Lastly, she confronted Xiao Bai how he keeps lying to her, never once stand up for her when she needed him the most, and he only cares about his family reputation.
- Voice Changeling: She learns how to change her voice from Shangguan Qiuyue. So far, she only intimate Qiuyue and Xiao Bai's voices.
- Your Days Are Numbered: She caught a incurable disease called love entanglement from Gu Wan which makes her heart in great pain and if she moves her heart and flower-shaped mark on her hand turns black, she dies. As the result, she doesn't much time left even if she doesn't move her heart.
Shangguan Qiuyue

The master of the evil sect of the evil religion and son of Shangguan Hui.- Abusive Parents: He spend his entire life trapped in the ice gorge until at the age of 15 by his mother. He was forced to trained to master kungku and he wasn't allow to leave the ice gorge. If he tried to escape or disobey her, he would had to be locked up for several days without food or water. As the result of being kept in ice gorge for too long, he's unable to feel heat and he always cold.
- Act of True Love: He is willing to give up everything to save Chun Hua's life by sacrificing all of his essences qi to cure her from the love entanglement disease even though he won't be able to use kungku anymore.
- Babies Ever After: Played straight and downplayed. At the end of the novel, Shangguan Qiuyue and Chun Hua have two sons and one adopted daughter together. One of their sons will be like Shangguan Qiuyue, who protects his sister and the other son will be like Chun Hua.
- Disease Bleach: At the end of the novel, his hair turn permnant white as the result of given up his essence qi to cure Chun Hua's love entanglement disease.
- Disappeared Dad: He never knew his father growing up since his mother never told him before her death.

- Foreshadowing: There are foreshadowing hints that Shangguan Qiuyue is Chun Hua's Mr.Right and the first person she saw.
- He has always save her in danger situations, gives her affection, and he always stay by her side when she needs him.
- In Episode 19, Chun Hua had a dream of her wedding with Xiao Bai, but Qiuyue in his place.
- In Episode 21, Chun Hua has another dream where Xiao Bai rescue her and kills Qiuyue. When she woke up, she suddenly feel sad and began to cry for unknown reason.
- Master of Disguise: He can perfectly disguise on anyone he wants such as one of Fu Lou's minions, Hua Xiaolei's brother, Hua Que, a older mature man and people they never seen before.
- Not Blood Siblings: Shangguan Qiuyue lies to Chun Hua they are brother and sister to restart their relationship and start treats her like a sibling. After Chun Hua found out they aren't blood related to each other, he still treats her as his sister especially when they enter into relationship in episode 30.
- Not So Stoic: After he found out that Chun Hua and Xiao Bai are getting marry, he didn't take the truth very well. He drinking the 3-day wine and starts breaking very medicine bottles in his secret room out of frustration.

- Attempted Rape: Xiao Bai almost raped Chun Hua or worse until Qiuyue knocked him unconscious.
- Better as Friends: At the end of the novel and series, he and Chu Hua realizes they were never met be together and decides they should stay as friends.
- Evil Costume Switch: After Chun Hua leaves him for good and gives back the Xuanbing stone to Shangguan Qiuyue in episode 26, he starts wearing darker clothes instead of wearing white clothes than he usually wears. After the Xuanbing stone return to Xiao Bai, he starts wearing white clothes again.
- Foreshadowing: There are foreshadowing hints that Xiao Bai is not Chun Hua's Mr. Right.
- He never give Chun Hua affection and never kiss her after he develops romantic feelings for her.
- He chose his family over her since he doesn't want to ruin his family's name and he will not always side with Chun Hua when she needs him the most.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision:
- During the longevity nut auction, Qiuyue gives Xiao Bai two choices: give up the Fengming sword and gives back Chun Hua or abandon her. he choose the latter, but when Qiuyue decides he doesn't want his weapon anymore, he takes it back.
- Xiao Bai is given two choices in order to save Chun Hua before she dies from the love entanglement disease: He can either give up his es sense qi and can no longer uses Fengming techniques anymore or let Chun Hua died. However, he is unable to decide, Qiuyue ends up saving Chun Hua's life instead.
- Missing Mom: His mother died when he was only ten years old.
- Yandere: After he gives back the Xuanbing stone to Shangguan Qiuyue, he becomes mentally unstable and becomes obsesses of killing Qiuyue and make Chun Hua suffer for leaving him.

- Marriage of Convenience: He married a woman from a royal family in order to conceived a son for him.
- Star-Crossed Lovers: With Shangguan Hui since he's aware he can't be together with her since their two of their families are long time enemies. This was why he choose his family over her, but he does regret it.

- Iconic Item: Fan. He is always seen carries his fan with him all the time and he rarely seen without it.
- Non-Action Guy: He never carries a weapon with him in combat, but he is skill of avoiding enemies's attacks.
- Single-Target Sexuality: He likes flirty with many women, but he only has eyes on Leng Ning.

The only daughter of Feng Qian Wei and childhood friend of Leng Ning.- All Love Is Unrequited: She has romantic feeling for Xiao Bai since childhood, but she thinks she not a good match for him. After Chun Hua leaves Xiao Bai, she still refuses to be with him because she has already got over for him and only sees him as a friend.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: She decides to let go her feelings for Xiao Bai and let him be happy with Chun Hua.
- Ship Tease: With Li Yu, Xiao Bai, and Leng Ning. Starting from Episode 32, she has some moments with Li Yu and it is a hinted that she develops a crush on him.

- Chastity Couple: With Qin Liu Feng. They never kiss and hug each other, but they often hold hands. In the series finale, it is reveals they are now engaged.
- Does Not Like Men: She hates men with flirty and playboy personality.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: She originally had her hair tied in a bun until after Cai Cai's recovery where she wears a ponytail. Later, after she gets jealous of female waitress's feminine appearance, she decides to wear her hair down completely and starts dressing more feminine.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: She originally dressed in men's clothing, but after Qin Liu flirt with a female waitress, she decides to wear more feminine clothing given by Qin Liu Feng as a present.
