Elena Deveraux
Elena Parker Deveraux, Guild Hunter and Consort to the Archangel Raphael
The main series protagonist of the Guild Hunter series, she is a former human-turned-angel. She is also Hunter-born and works as a Guild Hunter both before and after her transformation. Her wings are described as "midnight and dawn," with navy blue wings that transition to lighter colors at the primaries. She is the Archangel Raphael's Consort.

- Animal Eyes: He has bright green eyes with slitted vertical pupils like a snake's.

- Given Name Reveal: He tells Holly his true name when they acknowledge their feelings for each other. It's Tushar.

- Death Seeker: To some degree, where he asks Raphael to kill him if he can no longer go on. He gets better.

Naasir
Naasir is a vampire and a member of Raphael's Seven. He is around six hundred years old during the main events of the series.

- Half-Human Hybrid/Beast Man: He is a chimera, made of the fusion of a human boy and a white tiger cub, and has somewhat feral instincts, although he is perfectly capable of acting urbane and civilized when necessary.
- Our Vampires Are Different: He was Made into a vampire after being turned into a human-tiger chimera. Unlike purely human children who are Made, he did not go insane, but grew and developed into an adult slowly over many decades. He drinks blood and also needs to eat, and prefers raw meat.

- Supernatural Gold Eyes: In Naasir's case his irises are actually silver.

Illium
Illium is an angel and a member of Raphael's Seven, as well as Aodhan's best friend. He has blue-and-gold wings and is around five hundred and twenty-five years old during the main events of the series. He is the son of Sharine/The Hummingbird and of the Archangel Aegaeon.
- Affectionate Nickname: "Bluebell," given to him by Galen.

Aodhan is an angel, a member of Raphael's Seven, and Illium's best friend. His has wings that glitter like crystal and is a little over five hundred years old during the main events of the series.

- Dark and Troubled Past: Two years of imprisonment and abuse two hundred years before the main events of the series make him emotionally closed-off and touch-averse.

Galen
Galen is an angel, a member of Raphael's Seven, and his weaponsmaster. He has wings patterned like a hawk's and is around six hundred and seventy-five during the main events of the series. He is Jessamy's lover.- Drill Sergeant Nasty: He is blunt, taciturn, and a brutal fighter and combat trainer.
- Hidden Heart of Gold: He is utterly devoted to Jessamy, who was pitied for her crippled wing, and also gives flying lessons to baby angels, and kept Aodhan from utterly withdrawing from the world and regain some sense of self-worth by forcing Aodhan to spar with him every day for a hundred years.
- May–December Romance: To a certain extent - Jessamy is around 2,300 years older than he is, but given that angels are extraordinarily long-lived, this isn't seen as problematic or particularly unusual.
- One True Love: He and Jessamy have been together for four hundred years, and are devoted to each other.

Ashwini is a Guild Hunter and later a vampire who becomes a member of the Tower team.- The Clairvoyant: She has the ability to see glimpses of the future and get feelings about things, although even she doesn't realize what they're about until they come to pass. Some characters refer to her having a "third eye."
- Combat Clairvoyance: Her ability to see glimpses of the future increases her skills in combat to the point where she can keep up with Dmitri to some level.

Holly Chang
Holly is a former mortal changed into a unique being by the Archangel Uram after being forced to drink his blood. She has some vampiric traits but is not a standard vampire in-universe. She works for the Tower as part of Ashwini and Janvier's team, investigating events in New York City's vampire underworld.- A-Cup Angst: As she was changed at the age of 23, she still looks to be in her early twenties and is somewhat insecure about being stuck with small breasts. Of course Venom likes her chest just the way it is.
- Affectionate Nickname: Venom calls her "Kitty," initally just to get a rise out of her, but it later becomes a legitimately affectionate term.
- Dmitri calls her his "weirdling."
- Eternal Love: Her relationship with Venom/Tushar.
- Good Parents: Her parents are loving and supportive, as are her siblings.
- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: She is slim and petite, and Venom is over a foot taller than her.

Andromeda is an angel who serves as Jessamy's apprentice. She is Charisemnon's granddaughter, although she can't stand him and avoids him at all costs. She has wings patterned like a bird's and is Naasir's mate.- Abusive Parents: Her parents were neglectful and exposed her to all sorts of unpleasant things, up to and including having sex with other partners in front of her when she was a young child. She fled to the Refuge when she was seventy-five, equivalent to around fifteen years old in human terms.
- Affectionate Nickname: Naasir calls her "Andi"
- Cultured Warrior: She is a trained fighter as well as a scholar.
- Eternal Love: Her relationship with Naasir
- Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe: Her biological father is Dahariel, the Archangel Astaad's Second, and not her mother's husband.
Mahiya
Mahiya Geet
Mahiya is an angel born and raised in the Archangel Neha's court. She is the daughter of Neha's twin sister Nivriti, and the result of an affair between Nivriti and Neha's husband Eris. She is around three hundred years old during the main events of the series. She has wings patterned like a peacock's, with blue and green feathers. She is Jason's lover.- All Girls Like Ponies: She loves horses despite being unable to ride them because of her wings. Jason has stables renovated for her at their home so she can raise and train horses there.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Once she became an adult, Neha neglected and mistreated her, including having her publically whipped for minor infractions multiple times.
- Eternal Love: Her relationship with Jason.
- Family Eye Resemblance: It is very obvious that she is the result of an affair between her mother and her aunt's husband Eris because her eyes look exactly like his.
- Meaningful Name: Her full name is 'Mahiya Geet,' which means "Beloved Song"
- Missing Mom: She grew up being told that her aunt killed her mother right after her birth. This turns out not to be true.
Jessamy

Jessamy is a angel with a crippled wing who cannot fly. She is also the angelic Historian who records her race's histories, and serves as the Teacher, in charge of instructing young angels. She speaks over a hundred languages and is highly-respected by all angelkind, to the point where archangels come to her for advice. She is Keir's best friend and Galen's lover. As of the main events of the series, she and Galen have been together for four hundred years. She is around three thousand years old, and has magenta-and-cream wings.
- Affectionate Nickname: Her friends and Galen call her "Jess."
- Eternal Love: Her relationship with Galen. They have been together for four centuries and are deeply in love.

Sharine/The Hummingbird
Sharine
Sharine is the mother of Illium, as well as one of angelkind's most famous artists. For most of Illium's life, she suffered from severe trauma-induced amnesia, although she gets better. She has indigo wings, champagne-colored eyes, and gold-tipped black hair. At the end of Archangel's Heart, she is made the guardian and administrator of the town of Lumia. As of the events of Archangel's Sun, she is the lover of the Archangel Titus.
- Affectionate Nickname: "Hummingbird," given to her by her first lover Raan, due to her small stature, brightly-colored wings, and incredible speed.
- Titus nicknames her "Shari"
- Eccentric Artist: She was known as such for the past several centuries before the main events of the series, as she was suffering from trauma-induced amnesia triggered by Aegaeon. She gets better.
- Eternal Love: With Titus.
- Hand Blast: In Archangel's Sun, Sharine realizes/remembers that he has the ability to fire energy bolts. This, coupled with her speed and intelligence, make her more powerful even than Tzadiq, Titus' second, and as such one of the most powerful non-Archangelic angels in existence. Tzadiq comments to Titus that she could have been a powerful angelic general.
- This implies that nearly all of Illium's power comes from his mother, and not his archangelic father.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Nearly everyone calls her "The Hummingbird," although she prefers to be called by her given name in most circumstances.
- Really 700 Years Old: She is an Ancient and does not remember her exact age, but given that she is a contemporary of Caliane, it is implied that she is over 100,000 years old.
Archangel Titus
Titus, Archangel of Southern Africa, later Archangel of Africa
Titus is the Archangel of Southern Africa, and later the Archangel of Africa after he kills Charisemnon. He is the son of the Archangel Alexander's First General Avelina, and has been an archangel for 1,600 years. He is 3,500 years old as of the main events of the series. As of the events of Archangel's Sun, he is the lover of [[spoiler:Sharine/The Hummingbird.- Affectionate Nickname: He called his lover Sharine "Shari".
- His four older sisters call him "Tito."
- Boisterous Bruiser: He is a warrior who loves to party and has an incredibly loud voice.
- Eternal Love: With Sharine.
- Friend to All Children: Titus is very good with children, and is known for adopting and raising the orphaned children of warriors who died in battle.

The powerful Archangel of China and the Angel of Death. Lijuan serves as the main antagonist for the first 12 novels of the series.
- A God Am I: Lijuan has her people worship her as a goddess and believes herself to be above even the other archangels.
- In Their Own Image: Lijuan intends to tear down the world, which she views as corrupt, and rebuild it in her own image.
- Mask of Sanity: Lijuan acts very softly spoken and elegant, but that is a facade for a raging psychopath who would kill millions to get her way.
- Necromancer: As the Angel of Death, Lijuan possesses the ability to control the dead. This allows her to able to bring to people back to life as horrifying zombies under her control.
Charisemnon
Charisemnon
The cruel Archangel of North Africa and the Angel of Disease. Charisemnon is a major, recurring and vile threat to the heroes across the series.
- Bad Boss: Charisemnon is a dreadful boss and has minions brainwashed to the point they give their lives for him. When he needs to produce a new disease, he has his most loyal minions come to him and then horrifyingly experiments on and kills them to help with the production.
- A God Am I: Charisemnon believes himself to be a god and forces the people of North Africa to worship him. He believes himself to be greater then all other archangels as well.
- Plaguemaster: As the Angel of Disease, Charisemnon has the power of plagues and illness. His ability allows him to create and spread horrifying diseases, which he does sometimes just to become infamous.
- Would Hurt a Child: Charisemnon is a monstrous pedophile who preys on young girls in his territory. He has his people worship him by offering him their young daughters who he sexually abuses.
