Sundista Kingdom

A kingdom led by an elven queen, Illy, whose king, Raleven, had recently passed away. They have been invaded and brought down by a monster army led by Qaron, though its forces continue to maintain resistance.
    Tropes about the Kingdom

    Shalith

Sundista's Court Mage

The heroine of the first Escape Dungeon game. She is a mage in service to Queen Illy of the Sundista Kingdom who teleported her and Fiara out of Qaron's clutches before being captured and imprisoned in a mine full of monsters.

  • Court Mage: To Queen Illy. The Mage part of this gets downplayed when playing as her though, being under Anti-Magic.
  • First Installment Weirdness: The first game acted more as a proof of concept for the sequels in the series. This is most evident when comparing the difference in art styles, gameplay mechanicsnote  and story.
  • Kleptomaniac Hero: With her magic mostly shut off and not much in the way of help or equipment, she's justified having to automatically pick up anything she can get her hands on (especially when they're wrongfully stolen from her kingdom). Some of her dialogue does make her weird about this though.
Shalith: There's something shiny~ Crystals! Mine!
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Downplayed; while she's far from martially-minded, having her magic suppressed and a consequently low spell repertoire forces her to get up close to take out enemies in melee, with archers that can keep distance in particular being a bad match unless she has ranged spells or can back one into a corner. In 3's demo, probably as a Lampshaded Trope over the first's gameplay, Illy mentions a rumor about Shalith being at her most dangerous without her magic.

    Shunral

The Silver Wolf

An elf archer and heroine for Escape Dungeon 2. After the fall of the Kingdom, she sneaks into the Demon City to assassinate Qaron and bring a quick end to his army.

  • Badass Normal: Compared to the magic Shalith, Illy and other monsters throw around, Shunral's own skills aren't much more than being a good shot with a bow and having a couple of Trick Arrows up her sleeves— er, quiver. Makes it all the more badass when Shunral does get to the end with just those, shooting a path of death through the monster horde up to assassinating Qaron himself as she had planned... were it not for his Ressurective Immortality. Even then, she downs now-Beast Qaron multiple times during her escape.
  • Contrasting Sequel Protagonist:
    • Unlike the magic-wielding Shalith, Shunral is strictly physical with her bow and, in gameplay, can shoot an infinite number of arrows at far longer ranges for her normal attack. This is all but an upgrade to the magic-suppressed Shalith having only a basic melee attack in a one-tile range, where archers could easily sap her unless she had a spell handy.
    • Shalith was trapped in a dungeon and had to escape it. Shunral inverts this by entering one, although she's forced to escape after reaching the final floor.
  • The Dreaded: The Silver Wolf has made an infamous name for herself amongst monsters, notably being a feared topic in Loop Queen when goblins report seeing her in the forest.
  • Friendly Sniper: More like a Hitman with a Heart, what with her mission to assassinate solely evil targets and taking immense satisfaction in it, but she's undoubtedly on the side of good.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: With the right skills and stats, you could be one-shotting enemies in an entire floor in just a single turn.
  • The Magnificent: Parodied. She was named the "Silver Wolf", the former part coming from her hair color, and the latter... well, she hasn't any idea why it's there. It fits her tactics though, being an archer who can snipe her 'prey' without warning.
  • Master Archer: She developed a reputation as this, which monsters often point out before they get sniped, and her skills in-game seem to be a direct product of that. A conversation between werewolves talk about The Gift she must have had for archery, but Shunral refutes this, saying she had trained for years to get to that level.
  • One-Woman Army: She believes that she can invade Qaron's fortress on her own, and she's right note . The extra experience given to her by Illy's loops helped, but all it did was boost her ability to recall battles she'd already fought.
  • Our Elves Are Different: Like Queen Illy, she seems based on the standard fantasy archetype: beautiful, graceful, pointy-eared, skilled in archery, and long-lived compared to humans.
  • Smiting Evil Feels Good: She's glad to send every monster she comes across to death, and given their lack of remorse over what they've done, it's very much deserved.

    Illy and Fiara

The Queen of the Kingdom and the Captain of the Royal Guard.note

The pair of heroines for Loop Queen, the third game of the series which takes place in the Misty Woods. There, they search for an artifact that will allow Illy to go through such an orgasm that will reverse time all the way before Qaron and his monsters invade the Sundista Kingdom.

Tropes applying to both:

  • Breaking Old Trends: They're the first in the series to be a pair of protagonists rather than singular ones.
  • Cleavage Window: As is tradition until now for every heroine of the series, both women's clothes show off their chests this way.
  • Contrasting Sequel Protagonist:
    • The duo can be seen as a culmination of the past two heroines' gameplay loops by splitting the roles, having one be the ranged spellslinger and the other a melee fighter acting as a tank.
    • Where Shalith and Shunral had no idea about the time loop and forget their memories of past loops, Illy retains her memories as the caster, and Fiara is aware of this power, much to her horror at the implications whenever it activates.
  • Lady and Knight: In terms of relationship and ability, Illy and Fiara are this respectively.
  • Sword and Sorcerer: The core gameplay of 3 has you control one of the pair at a time, where your Sword, Fiara, is responsible for close combat and tanking, while Illy the Sorcerer casts her magic from range.

Illy

The elf queen of the Sundista Kingdom. Her mastery of magic was such that she could create a time loop, but only whenever she reached a sexual orgasm, which she achieved with her human husband, King Raleven. With her husband having passed away of old age, she could not use the magic and was forced to watch her kingdom fall, only turning back time whenever she falls prey to captors lusting after her.
  • The Archmage: In addition to time magic, she's got a repertoire of spells in her game that doesn't lose to Shalith's.
  • Big Good: As the queen of the Sundista Kingdom, she leads the forces of good against Qaron's army of evil. Though her side lost the war, she remains active in combating the threat.
  • Magic Staff: Uses one she fires bolts of magic and various spells from.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: Her husband was a human named Raleven, but being an immortal elf, he was ultimately lost to old age.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her dress bares most of her ample chest, all the way down to her bellybutton peeking over.
  • Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory: Being the caster, she retains all memories of her loops. Unfortunately, the loops only happen whenever she climaxes during sex, ever since she lost her husband, they often happen because of the villains who take her. "Unfortunate" given the many loops that happen is an understatement.
  • Sex Magic: How she charges up her time magic. Whenever she reaches a sexual orgasm (most often through intercourse), she uses it to reverse time up to a certain point. Post-game over dialogue in past games indicate that a "wave of white" comes along and turns back time while the heroines are swept along with it.
  • Time Loop Fatigue: Her dialogue in 3 involving her reversing time—and after the defeats that led to it—has her tone make it clear that she's tired. Add to the fact that she's been doing this in the past games, and one has to wonder how many times it's happened.
  • Time Master: She is capable of resetting time up to a certain point, as many times as she wants while keeping memories of the previous loop, but only if she achieves a sexual orgasm. She can also stop time for a moment, which manifests in gameplay as the "Time Stop" ability, which pauses everyone on the map for a number of turns while leaving the queen free to move (as long as no one is in her way).
  • We Cannot Go On Without You: Should Illy be the first to lose all her health, it will be an instant game over even if anyone other party member is still standing.

Fiara

Devoted Captain of the Royal Guard, and currently the only one guarding her queen Illy in their exploration of the Misty Woods.

Qaron's Army

The villains of the game. An army of monsters who lust after the riches and women of the Sundista Kingdom, they are led by their lord, Qaron.
    The Monsters
  • Always Chaotic Evil: Not once has there been an instance of a monster, let alone their boss doing anything resembling goodwill. They simply do whatever they want, especially if it gets them women. The orcs might have had a chance as Shunral remarks, and the mummies are not in control of their bodies, but it’s best to assume the worst of all of them.

    Qaron
The monstrous lord in charge of the monster army that destroyed the Sundista Kingdom.
  • Big Bad: As the leader of the monsters, he is this for the Escape Dungeon games where the heroine has to defeat him at the last level.
  • Final Boss: Is this in the first and second games.
  • Hunk: For a Big Bad, he’s a buff humanoid person who’s conventionally more attractive in a masculine way compared to the monsters under him.
  • Pointy Ears: It’s not known what race he is, but he has pointy ears like that of an elf’s.
