Main Characters
Tommy Dawkins
The main character of the show and most popular boy in his school. After he was bitten by a werewolf, he decides to use his powers for good, with the help of his friend Merton. Despite this, everyone sees the werewolf side of him as nothing more than a dangerous monster.- Big Eater: Wolf-like appetite.
- Can't Have Sex, Ever: Downplayed, as in if he gets too excited either by anger or passion, his werewolf transformation is triggered. So it's kind of hard to have relationship with someone who doesn't know or dig the werewolf look.
- Cool Kid-and-Loser Friendship: He's very cool, indeed, and he befriends the loser Merton.
- Cursed with Awesome: There are few drawbacks to his werewolf nature. He might as well say "Henshin" when he changes because that's when he starts fighting evil.
- In "Don't Fear The Reaper", he actually compares himself to Superman, but says his transformation is better because he doesn't have to run to a phone booth.
- Hero Protagonist: He's the show's protagonist who fights evil For Great Justice.
- Hero with Bad Publicity: Everyone sees the werewolf side of him as nothing more than a dangerous monster.
- Lovable Jock: Star quarterback of the football team, fights evil with his werewolf abilities, and an all-around Nice Guy.
- My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Most werewolves Tommy comes across are inherently bloodthirsty monsters, and encourage him to be the same.
- Wonderful Werewolf: Tommy uses his werewolf-granted powers for good, though residents in the community see his werewolf side as nothing but a menace.
Merton Dingle
Tommy's best friend, ironically the least popular kid at the school. He is also his sidekick when it comes to Tommy being a hero.- Big Brother Instinct: Merton is fiercely protective of Becky, to the point of making a list of prospective boyfriends for her. Not that she appreciates his actions even a little.
- Character Tic: He loudly hyperventilates when frightened.
- Verbal Tic: Especially in Season 2, whenever Merton was discombobulated (electrocuted, knocked silly, or scared into fainting,) he would let out a strained "Daddy!" as he was getting helped back up.
- Cool Kid-and-Loser Friendship: The loser to Tommy's cool.
- Crazy-Prepared: Whatever supernatural phenomena comes to Pleasantville, you can bet that a book on it and a means to defeat it can be found in Merton's lair.
- Goth: He dresses mostly in black, is fascinated by the supernatural and the occult, and his bedroom is modeled after medieval dungeon.
- Lovable Coward: Yeah, not the bravest sidekick Tommy could want. He sometimes crosses into Lovable Dirty Coward territory when he tries to either run for it or strike a deal with the menace du jour.
- Nightmare Fetishist: A bit too into blood, elaborate deaths, and Body Horror, especially for Tommy's tastes.
- Perky Goth: "Perky-verging-on-Hyperactive goth" to be more specific.
- Proud to Be a Geek: He's proud of his occult knowledge and place on the school's honour roll, but not so much of being a social pariah.
- Secret-Keeper: Initially, he's the only one who knows that Tommy is the werewolf.
Stacy Hanson
Tommy's first love interest, she was unaware that Tommy is a werewolf. Tommy's lycanthropy often interferes with their dating and she ends up breaking up with him.Lori Baxter
Tommy's second love interest, who was a former catholic school girl and quite the kick boxer. She at first was unaware that Tommy is a werewolf, but when she finds out she teams up with him and Merton.- Her Heart Will Go On: She had a boyfriend who died prior to her introduction. One episode involves him becoming a zombie.
- The Starscream: Becomes this when she becomes a werewolf and part of the Syndicate.
Recurring Characters
Becky Dingle
Merton's little sister, who really doesn't like Merton and often tries to dissociate herself from him. Her nickname for him is "freaker".- Demonic Possession: An episode involves her being possessed by the ghost of a serial killer.
Dean Dawkins
Tommy's lazy older brother. Spends most of his time on the couch and often gives Tommy advice.- Brilliant, but Lazy: Sitting in front of a tv all day does that.
Bob Dawkins
Tommy's father and mayor of Pleasantville.- Jerkass: It is said he befriended a deformed man so he could get the "inbred" vote.
Sally Dawkins
Tommy's mother and local reporter for the news team. Notable Villains
Werewolf Syndicate Leader
The unnamed werewolf who leads the syndicate of evil werewolves. His goal is to corrupt Tommy and use him to create more werewolves. He is eventually overthrown by Lori after she is bitten and later killed by a vampire that feeds on werewolf blood.- Abusive Parents: His son is scared of him.
- Bald of Evil: Doesn't appear to have a hair on his body, even when he transforms, he Looks Like Orlok.
- Card-Carrying Villain: He likes making a point that he and his minions are evil
- Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: He's played seriously, his only comedic traits are when his son embarrasses him, and even then he weighs it out with his snarls.
Gil
The son of the Syndicate leader, but very much less evil than his father. After his father dies, he tries to take the role as Syndicate leader. He doesn't get that far.- Big Bad Wannabe: Following his fathers death, he takes over the Syndicate, but it doesn't do to well on his part.
Tim and Travis
Two kids at Tommy's school, who are obsessed with hunting the "Pleasantville Werewolf". This, doubled by the fact they bully Merton, is part of why they are listed as villains.- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Not quite evil, but they both care about each other's wellbeing. When Tommy saves one of them from choking on lunch, he pretty much earns their undying gratitude (for that episode, at least).
Butch
A fictional character from an educational film who breaks free from his tape. He is one of the recurring villains on the show.- The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: Basically what his character's about.
