Go To

Being Cartoon Network's second biggest hit (only to Teen Titans Go!), The Amazing World of Gumball seems to get this treatment almost as much as Teen Titans Go! does.

  • In October 2014 Gumball averaged at least 8 - 10 repeats every weekday.
  • In late-2014, it got to the point where half of Cartoon Network's airtime was divided between it and Teen Titans Go!.
  • On February 15, 2016, nothing but the show and Teen Titans Go! aired to premiere two new episodes of the latter and the half-hour special, "The Origins", for the former, as well as to compete with Presidents' Day marathons on other channels, most notably the Gravity Falls marathon on Disney XD, which led up to its Grand Finale.
  • In March 2017, this show, Teen Titans Go!, and new series Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2017) started dominating the lineup. Cartoon Network eventually took it even further by making nearly the entire schedule for the following week note  comprised of the three. No, seriously.
  • By 2017, it was the second most rerun show on the entire channel. Also, until the original Teen Titans returned to the schedule, Gumball tended to be the first thing that aired after [adult swim] signed off.
  • When Cartoon Network doesn't feel like showing a marathon of Teen Titans Go!, they'll show a marathon of this. Examples of when they have done this include Mother's and Father's Day 2017, December 23, 2017, Martin Luther King Day weekend of 2018 and Christmas Day 2018.
  • Gumball was especially subject to this in late 2014-early 2015, to the point that, on January 19 of the latter year, reruns of Steven Universe ceased airing on all days but Thursday and Saturday to make room for more Gumball, along with Adventure Time and Regular Show in favor of more Teen Titans Go and Clarence. Though many Steven fans feared that the show was about to become a victim of network screwing, by February 2, Steven would be airing reruns just as often. However, CN was still determined to squeeze one more episode of Gumball in for no apparent reason, so that meant the final Gumball rerun of the day got Adventure Time's 7:00 PM slot, moving AT to 7:30 and Regular Show to 7:45 (the only time they aired during the day).
  • As of October 2017, the UK feed takes this further with Gumball. It airs at least two hundred episodes a week, and on some weeks, it reruns more times a day on the UK feed proportionally than Teen Titans Go! does on the US feed. And that is a lot! It is justified though, as the show is produced in the country and that British channels have to air British-made programs to fulfill the amount of European content required due to the country's laws.
  • April 2018 saw Gumball begin to get the same treatment that Teen Titans Go! got. They even went as far as changing their schedule at the very last minute and eschewing their other shows (Unikitty!, We Bare Bears and even Teen Titans Go) just to show more Gumball.
  • When Cartoon Network started reducing the amount of airtime Teen Titans Go! due to its extreme decline in popularity, most of the time slots stripped from TTG were filled in with more Gumball.
  • In contrast to how CN treats other ended 2010s shows, Cartoon Network continues to air frequent reruns of Gumball even after the series ended on June 24, 2019, and shows no sign of stopping. This is because the show is still very popular with its target audience, and has a movie on the way that will resolve the cliffhanger in the finale.
  • On the week of November 25, 2019, Cartoon Network ran a three-day Teen Titans Go! marathon to promote the premiere of a hour-long special. The day after it aired, Cartoon Network compensated for the lack of Gumball for three days by making almost the entire schedule for the rest of the week filled with the show, save for reruns of Apple & Onion, any new episodes of shows, and some movies. Teen Titans Go! only aired a few times after its marathon (though it ultimately was still the most aired show of the whole week), with an encore of the hour-long special and two reruns of other episodes.
  • On the week of April 6, 2020, Cartoon Network's Central and Europe feed aired nothing but Gumball the entire week, totaling 672 episodes, the most it has aired in a single week on any Cartoon Network feed worldwide, dethroning Nordic's Teen Titans Go! marathon on Sportlov 2020 with 245 additional airings.
  • As of July 2020, Gumball averages 142 airings a week, the most out of any other show on the channel. The show averages five hours a day on weekdays which is just as much as nearly every other show on Cartoon Network combined (aside from Teen Titans Go!).
  • On the week of October 19, 2020, Cartoon Network changed their weekend schedule to feature almost nothing note  but this show and Teen Titans Go!. The following week, Gumball was given an additional hour-long slot, replacing Total DramaRama, which made for six hours of Gumball each day. Hell, as of January 2021, this show has more reruns than TTG does!
  • With the advent of Cartoonito USA on September 13, 2021 and it eating up most of CN's daytime schedule, Gumball now has 2 hours of airtime in between Cartoonito and Adult Swim. The only other shows to air are other network favorites Titans and Craig, who both have 1.5 hours on air during that timeframe.note
  • In the Netherlands, Gumball has a 10-hour marathon at night every day, running from 8 PM to 6 AM. It's safe to say it's the network's most aired series over there. However, there are rumors that Cartoon Network will launch a block showing their 90s series between 9 PM and 6 AM, and the Gumball marathon will be mostly dropped.
  • In 2021, Cartoon Network not only ordered a movie for the series, they also ordered more episodes!
    • After the series premiered to high ratings and very positive reviews, Cartoon Network has been giving a lot of attention to the show. In fact, it seems to get as much attention as Cartoon Network's other Cash-Cow Franchise, Teen Titans Go! and receive its own page as well.
    • Cartoon Network gave the series premier a huge buildup: a "sneak peek" six days before the premiere (which also aired on Boomerang and streamed on the website), a countdown bug on-screen the day of the premiere, and at least one rerun a day for the entire week afterward. It was also renewed for a second season 2 months before the official premiere.
    • The Latin American version of Cartoon Network brings this trope up to eleven. They went to such extent to dedicate a whole day to the show. They also use them to announce the new stuff of the month and air reruns three times a day, everyday, and they often air clips of this show during the commercial breaks for no reason at all.
    • The United Kingdom puts Latin America to shame. On some weeks, Gumball reruns more times a day on the UK feed proportionally than Teen Titans Go! does on the US feed. Part of this is probably because Gumball is the first (and remained the only for a while before The Heroic Quest of the Valiant Prince Ivandoe in 2017) show produced by CN's studio in the UK.
    • Cartoon Network also put a lot of faith into the show by renewing a second season a week before the premier, though this could have been done as the show spends a long time in production. Cartoon Network later renewed the show for a fourth and fifth season before the third season had even started airing and, a few days before the fifth season started, renewed it for a sixth. Overall, next to Teen Titans Go, it's probably the network's most-aired series. Tellingly, the network continues to air frequent reruns of it after it ended, and shows no sign of stopping.
  • Cartoon Network Poland runs nothing but Gumball marathons whenever it's summer, Christmas or any holiday.
