When I first started reading this story, I was a little bit hopeful. Sure, there were many things about it that were on the Blossomverse that were... controversial, to say the least, and it had its trademark of putting people through the wringer for the sake of drama, but it did seem like things were changing for the better.
And then the latter half of Act 1 started and all my hopes were dashed.
Chloe being overly focused at the expense of Professor Sycamore, the Blame Game reaching terminal status by the time of chapter 20, paragraphs upon paragraphs upon paragraphs of people yelling at each other, blaming each other for what happened, and the story pin-ponging between actually having Chloe acknowledging her mistakes and then pulling everything out of its backside in order to not only justify it, but have other people be blamed instead...
What happened here? The story started so promising, and yet by the end of Act 1, it felt like a rehash of the worst traits of Blossoming Trail's own Act 1, instead of what it was supposed to be; a What If? scenario on showing what would happen if a certain character got on the Train alongside Chloe.
But as the act went on, it felt like nothing had changed. Or worse, it felt like the more things changed, the more they stayed the same.
This "review" has gone on long enough, so I'll be brief; if you can stomach the Blossomverse's worst traits and have time to spare (some of the chapters are insanely long), then give it a shot and see if you like it.
But if you can't stomach it... I say keep your distance just in case.
