Funny, But...

The idea and manga starts off pretty well. Four guys getting to live rent-free, if they manage to make the owner's niece a Yamato Nadeshiko... who turns out to not be a case of Beautiful All Along, but really was unkempt and unpleasant to look at.

Well, at first. Later depictions of Sunako show that she's not hideous; she's rather goodlooking, but the biggest issues are with her personality and lack of social skills. Fair enough, this could be fun to read. Even if the mangaka eventually reverted Sunako to chibi-format to avoid having to draw her a lot, which was apparently difficult.

The problem with the plot arises when you realize that, as things go on, nothing really changes. It seems like Sunako has improved on things, only to remind us that Status Quo Is God, so she's back to being in her dark room with her beloved anatomy model, and we're practically back to square one.

I believe I gave up around 120 chapters in because of the aforementioned problem. Perhaps if the manga had been severely shortened, and it didn't feel like they were constantly hitting a Reset Button to get more out of the story, and things had actually progressed at a decent pace, it would have been more entertaining. As it is, give it a read to see if it holds your interest. Otherwise, you can skip this.
