On the Broken Base entries at least, I would be inclined to agree it was unnecessary to remove those in entirety. The Korrasami-related matters it involved were covered in the first installment, and the later ones did not change anything significant about those. Why then count the six months "quarantine" period from the release date of the last comic? Even if done anticipating potential new plot twists at first, it hardly seems justified now, when we know nothing relevant to that context was added. Likewise, that fan reactions have been divided (to say the least) on the Korrasami issue, and/or how it was handled more specifically in the comics, should not be controversial, with large groups either loving it, hating it or anything in between, and saying so.
That the art style does not please everyone also seems pretty well established, though this is obviously an issue most people who comment on it are less emotionally invested in.
Okay, this entry seems to be more about complaining about a bunch of fan theories being disproved.
- Additionally, in the years between the series finale, (if not before that) and before the comic came out, many an analysis was written about the universe's view of queerness, namely that all Avatars are potentially bi/pansexual due to such orientation being a third option between the "extremes" of heterosexuality and homosexuality and/or The Avatar being attracted simply to whoever was the most harmonious person in their lives with Korra dating Mako reflecting her spiritual weakness and/or a lesson in being human while Korra being with Asami reflects her spiritual growth in being with someone that epitomizes such harmonious qualities. This led to ideas that "Jafarvatar" had a husband and the possibility that Aang could've crushed on another boy in Katara's place. Instead, Kyoshi is the only confirmed queer Avatar before Korra and spent centuries being Never Accepted In The Earth Kingdom, making Korra even more insecure/Gayngst-y about being accepted by the world despite all she's done for it.
Is it really Flame Bait if I wrote down what some people don't like about the leaked preview pages as told on the Tainted By The Preview trope? I didn't think there was a need to do that in the case when Red Ash came out with its lackluster proof of concept, and that was kept in the YMMV page of that game.
Let's do this! Hide / Show RepliesAs far as I can tell, whoever removed it is unaware that this trope is not in fact Flame Bait. I'd PM them about it.
Ok, I've spoiler-tagged Korra and Asami kissing twice because while people knew of the first (by either leak, interviews saying they would, etc.) but the second kiss at the end of Part one wasn't as obvious (leak or otherwise,) that people were genuinely surprised by/only expected the first because the "un-tagger" claims it's "distracting". So...
Also my post about Broken Base was completely removed despite said reactions being obvious before and during the first book's debut.
