- Canon Discontinuity: Word of God says that the Chaotix were re-imagined for Sonic Heroes, not re-appearing. Also referenced in Sonic Generations, which has Mighty's last appearance at 1993. Which is strange when you realize that two of this game's songs are in that game.
So strange, in fact, that I've seen little to no proof of this game being Canon Discontinuity. Seriously, the Sonic News Network doesn't mention a thing about its apparent Canon Discontinuity status, and its the freaking wiki. Also, this series has several writers, so even if one writer said it's Non-Canon, another writer may choose to ignore this apparent statement and reference this game. To this day, I want to know where he got this.
Edited by SamMax Hide / Show RepliesHere's your proof. Specifically:
There's also the fact that those characters have never been used by Sonic Team — we weren't involved with Knuckles Chaotix; some other internal sega Development team did that. So it's not a matter of bringing up old characters... we recreated those characters from the ground up.
So, yes, this game has been decanonized.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. If anyone likes I could get a title screen pic without Mighty blinking.
All done. Mighty just fixed Mighty. Everyone happy now?

•Loads and Loads of Characters: For a Sonic-based platformer of it's time. To be specific, Sonic the Hedgehog had only 2 characters. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 had 3*
, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles had 4 characters*
. Sonic CD had 3*
. Knuckles' Chaotix has 6*
Since when does Sonic 1 have 2 playable characters, and Sonic CD have 3?
