Perhaps Interface Screw should be added to this game's YMMV tab?
Whenever you get close to an enemy, your controls change to resemble a first-person shooter, and moving away changes them back. There's very little overlap here, so trying to shoot an enemy from medium range can be extremely difficult with the controls changing on you every three or four seconds.
In addition, when you lock onto an enemy, they flash green, usually indicating friendly, and Tribals flash red, usually denoting enemies. This is a very difficult reflex to break and overlaps with Damn You, Muscle Memory!.
