The tropes for the sequel should be split into their own page.

I'm on the fence. Games like Shantae have shared pages, and those games have more installments and tropes.

I don't see any reason to force a split, but I'm not against it, either.

As long as they're soft split, I lean towards not bothering until the page gets too long.

If there is a hard split, I don't care, but it just seems like extra work for no particular gain.

In the first Curse of the Moon the canon ending is actually the one where Zangetsu ignores all allies, since none of them die (they only risk their lifes) and help him at the end (which explains why on the second game they already know each other and are on friendly terms), Zangetsu actually has a change of heart and ends the curse (which is why the final stage is called on that ending Cleave the Moon instead of Curse of the Moon) and on the ending screen instead of saying THE END like in the other endings the screen says FIN. The reason you don't unlock anything in that ending is because you finished the story for good and the Nightmare mode rather than being the true or canon ending is just an alternate sequel to a bad ending kust like Julius mode in Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.

Edit: Sorry, i replied with this unrelated post when my intention was just to state this on the discussion forum because i hit the wrong button.

Is there an official statement that tells what the official ending is, or are you simply assuming?

While what is confirmed is that the canon ending is one where Zangetsu doesn't kill any allies. The solo ending is obviously the canon one, with the other endings contradicting the sequel in one way or another, Zangetsu not having a change of heart and implying that the Gremory they fought was just a shadow. Also, the ending screen of the solo ending, it's title being called Nightmare's End and the fact that it's the only ending where the curse is broken pretty much confirms it as the canon ending.

We don't trope things based on what is "likely" or "obvious". We only trope what is stated or NOT stated within the work. The reason why is that works of fiction do not adhere to "logic"; even if something looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, if the story or the author says it's a shark, then we trope that it's shark.

But the trope page acts as if the ending were you recruit only one or two allies is the canon without any of the creators confirming it nor considering the solo ending, so at the very least i think it should be mentioned.

I lost my previous account's mail, so i'm posting with a new one. But it is indeed explicity called the true ending in the japanese version of the game the ending where Zangetsu doesn't kill any allies and ignores them, as seen here "https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1399660439" and here "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbKrCLUaa2w" or here "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Aj63IPEZ9o" at the end of the video. Also, the 3 allies don't die in that ending. They just "risk their lifes" for Zangetsu and pass out, had they died the game would have stated so.
