It's made obvious that there are lots of dei ex machina (yes, that is the Latin plural of "deus ex machina") in this show, such as when the group of detective moms appeared out of nowhere and got a shot of Lily in one boot, which is how Dash identified her at the bar, having found her other boot, when Lily's grandfather let her stay at the last minute instead of forcing her to go to Fiji, and the sudden resolutions of conflicts. The amount of time the show takes place over is also really compressed (compared to how long it would realistically take) due to all the instances of it, so why isn't deus ex machina listed here?

1. In general, work trope lists will always be "incomplete", so to speak; a troper might be able to recognize a trope other editors haven't and are fine to add it to trope lists themselves. See This Is a Wiki.

2. I don't think Dash finding Lily is a deus ex machina, as that is for a miraculous plot resolver that comes out of nowhere. Boomer suggested using the mommy app to locate Lily earlier in the show (from the page: [the DEM] do not change the course of nor appear as a natural or a viable solution to the plotline they eventually "solve".) I had it listed as Contrived Coincidence that the app located her just when Dash needed to find her and Dash himself acknowledges it as a miraculous coincidence, but the app locating her to begin with was already introduced as an option.
