Where would Dr. Melfi from the Sopranos go?

Wait, so why is there no "normal, unremarkable psychologist" category? You know, the type who do their job, and do it well, but don't necessarily qualify for "awesome" status?

Because then it's not really a trope, it's just the job that a character happens to have.

For a page quote, I would like to suggest Dr. Sidney Freedman's line from M*A*S*H: Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I've got another suggestion

Diana: "I don't feel like myself. I mean, I don't feel anything."

Doctor Fine: *to dictaphone* "Patient stable."

Should we create separate pages for each of the three types? They seem to be growing a bit too large for each of them to be on this one page...

Why are shrinks called shrinks anyway? It's not that they shrink something...

It's shortened from head-shrinker. Sometimes people going to a psychiatrist will say "I'm getting my head shrunk."

Type the word in the image. This goes away if you get known.
If you can't read this one, hit reload for the page.
The next one might be easier to see.
