Re: the first example in the Film section, specifically the inversion in Quantum of Solace - is that really an inversion? The "frumpy" woman in question is Stana Katic of later 'Castle' fame. YMMV on her attractiveness, but I don't think anyone would call her outright frumpy. Perhaps a clarification that her character's occupation in the movie is that of a consulate secretary, something very mundane.

Why is there a red box around the Wicker Man example?

Call me a pack rat, but I kinda want to keep the original description somewhere, so:

Now, class, it's time for another math equation. This time, we'll be examining what happens when fair women start to hit on unappealing men in bars.

Now, say the man in question is X and the woman is Y. The bar itself is √, so since Y usually approaches X, it becomes Y√X. However, if this event takes place within Speculative Fiction, multiply it by Ω to get:

(Y√X)Ω

Y can often be a shapeshifter as well, so it becomes ±Ψ:

((Y±Ψ)√X)Ω

Now, what do you get when you complete this equation? Let's try it, shall we?

((Y±Ψ)√X)Ω = DEATH

Very good! Please come back next week. We're going to be doing...fractions!
