I wouldn't say it's reasonable to do so before the trope has actually been judged to be Trivia in the forum thread you posted in. I can see good arguments for treating it like a trope.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPer that thread: "Trivia is for insignificant factoids about a work or its creation that cannot be determined from the work itself." Can even the existence of the merchandise be determined from the work itself?
The spoilerage, yes. Also, we usually do count adaptations as part of the work (which is why Adaptation Tropes are counted as such) and I think the same logic would apply to merchandise. Also, the trope isn't approved for Trivia yet; we don't typically pre-empt such changes.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOK, I concede; I'll begin moving the examples I already crosswicked to the main and recap pages this weekend.
It has been suggested that this should be Spoilers Off. Any opposition to removing spoiler tags?
Crosswicking has begun.
I'm putting examples on the respective works' Trivia pages. Sound reasonable?
