Hey, what happened to the amazing xkcd cartoon that illustrated this? Was this a problem with The U.S. Copyright Laws or something?

I think I understand the difference from "What Now?" Ending (that's more of a cliffhanger, rather than an ending — so fantastically named, there), but how is this trope different from Now What??
