Still, note that all stereotypes are not bad. Just as common a stereotype is that of the Buddhist monk who literally knows everything worth knowing and helps the Hero, while another common one is the Hindu guru who is "in tune with the universe".
So...it's okay if A)it's Positive Discrimination, and B)the religion in question is one of the not-Jesus-y ones? * or Islam? But if Christianity is portrayed in a similar light (read: Positive Discrimination, especially the 'played seriously' variety), the creator of the work in question will be crucified for the Unfortunate Implications.
