Would the Kill/Death Ratio stat in any shooter game qualify as like a Meta example, since most players use that one stat as the sole indicator of how good a player is?

No, because the trope is about a stat that makes you good, not a stat that indicates how good you are.

Was going to put something into the introduction about how modern or futuristic games often make Intelligence the other big stat it's best to put points into. Figured I'd bring it here first.
