JM1776 continuously edits the Alternate Company Equivalent trope with stealth pro-Thor speculation and natter. The latest edit was this:

  • Alternate Company Equivalent:
    • In terms of power level, Thor was created to be Marvel's main equivalent to Superman. They decided not to make him a man, but make him a god. Older stories had Thor using Super-Breath and even Super Ventriloquism, making the comparison all the more obvious. By the way, JLA/Avengers has a partial (and somewhat deceptive) answer as to who'd win in a fight between the two: there, Superman won, but in a straight-at-each-other slugfest with little combat tactics or higher-level abilities—an area in which Thor's myriad of cosmic powers, wielded through Mjolnir, would give him an insurmountable advantage. Later issues more than hint that those, coupled with Thor's superior warrior training and millennia of experience would have him winning a rematch.

Which was changed from this:

Since we seem to be in the midst of an edit war, maybe he, Codename Bravo and I can hash out a compromise here?

I agree with King Zeal, and find the earlier version to be more accurate and less biased regarding what actually happened in the crossover. Thor made a remark about taking Superman's measure, and that the rematch might go differently, and that was it. He was very surprised when Superman was able to catch/block his hammer, and then overpower him.

I sent an invite to JM 1776, so I'll wait a few more days before calling it.
