Do official industry publications count as reliable sources? For example, I would never trust a clickbait hellhole like We Got This Covered or a spotty "scooper" like Grace Randolph as evidence of a movie happening, but when the news comes instead from the trade papers like Variety or Hollywood Reporter, shouldn't that carry weight, even if the producing studio hasn't made a formal announcement yet?
Hide / Show RepliesIf that's the only mention of the movie, I say refrain on making a page for it in the first place until we get enough info to add at least three tropes.
It falls on the same category as the Content Leak: unless the confirmation comes from the actual official sources (official pages and the like), it doesn't count.
What's the view on Trivia pages for upcoming works? I can see a few have been created, but no guidance here one way or the other.
Hide / Show RepliesI guess they're OK so long as the entry has a reliable source, i.e. an interview or trailer where the author outright states something that serves as a valid reference for said entry.
Why does the leak policy exist? It is conceptually absurd if the leaked material is clearly true beyond shadow of a doubt.
Hide / Show RepliesBecause leaking content is disrespectful and unethical to both the creators and the fans who are trying to avoid spoilers.

Does footage from a Beta or Alpha build for a not yet released game counts as evidence for Tropes? While not all mechanics and visuals will be implemented, it's unlikely that there will be an overhaul unless the game gets delayed for a long time.
