Edited by AmourMittsopenChildren's sci-fi novel
A kid's book about a boy from another planet who falls to earth and discovers an ability to read minds. He is taken in by a family, is persecuted by rednecks, and is never named (I remember finding that odd). I must have read it in the '90s.
openKnew what it was one time and then i forgot XP Videogame
It's an iOS game that I think had a bout of Memetic Mutation one time. Basically it's a game where you take care of a bunch of cats, you use food to bait them and then you close the app, when you come back on all these cats come back onto there. The art style is kinda like Pusheen. I actually downloaded it earlier in the year, but now I forgot what it's called.
Edited by FromtheWordsofBRopenUnknown sex comedy? Film
I remember watching a movie in TV during a stay in a hotel. It was sort of in the line of the American Pie (could be one of them, but I'm not sure) or Euro Trip style, where sex is the main plot device but it's mostly a comedy. I remember a scene of some people outside a mansion/big house and one guy was playing golf, hitting random things and yelling each time he hit something ("whore! dumbass!" or something like it). I also remember a scene where someone makes a huge party in his apartment and hires a stripper who brings her toddler, then they go to have sex in the shower and the guy pees on her. Those are the scenes I recall before the channel was changed. Does anyone know?
Edited by FawfulsteropenOld, eerie stop motion film about phantom puppets Western Animation
There's this old stop-motion film I remember seeing on TV when I was younger, but the only part I remember with any clarity is the ending. It's about this old man and his two grandchildren in a hut in the snowy woods, where he sits by the fire and tells them a story from when he was young, and working with a puppet show. One of the puppets 'dies' during a performance, and then the audience wanders away, leaving him alone with the puppet. Then, during the night, the puppet's ghost appears and scares the bejesus out of him. Then, once that's done, the old man and grandchildren just sit there in dead silence, staring at one another, until the camera pans out of the hut and the film ends.
openUnsure Film
About 10 years ago, I came across a movie. It involved several friends, that at one point hung out near a railroad track I believe. One of the boys in the group was sexually involved with a girl in it. She was like a brunette, and they kept their sexual relationship a secret from the parents that were downstairs. That's all I can really remember. I've been looking for it for years. Maybe someone knows it.
openIncompetent Assassin Film
This is from a movie I recall seeing not too long ago. One of the main villain's henchmen is sent to assassinate someone. The first part of the hit goes well: after travelling to the city/town where his target lives, he enters his house and kills him. Then, to his surprise, a woman walks into the room and sees what's going on, so he is forced to kill her too (and is clearly annoyed by this unexpected complication). As he is dragging both bodies away, he is caught in the act yet again by a random visitor or somesuch. He then makes this "seriously?!" face and has no choice but to kill the second witness too. This kill might even have taken place out on the street at this point, though I'm not entirely sure. By the end, the assassin escapes unharmed, but has made a needless mess of things.
Despite showing how little regard the henchman has for collateral damage, the overall tone of the scene was more darkly comedic, rather than played for drama.
Medium: Live Action Film, but there's a remote chance it might have been a TV series. Date: this was more of a modern-era style film. I doubt this was made before 1990.
openCar TV show on Discovery
What is the name of the TV show that pits two teams of car mechanics against each other and have (usually) 72 hours to rebuild a car?
openCartoon, Tv Show, Anime? Anime
All I remeber is a girl wearing the shirt. It was black. There were about 8-10 characters on the shirt. All were wearing black or had black hair. The main character, a boy I believe, had horns and it seemed like the rest of the characters did too. I remeber asking the girl about it and she said something about it being called Home something or House something! PLEASE HELP!
openOlder Anime With 'Super' Engraved On Gun (Long Colt) Anime
What show would a picture of a brown haired make with a white flower behind his ear, what looks like the collar of a leather jacket, and a long colt with what I think is the word 'super' engraved on be from?
openShow about two kids and a wiener dog solving crimes? Live Action TV
I saw this once a long long time ago at my daycare and it's way back in my memory. It was a show for kids with a catchy theme song that I can barely remember. It was about two kids and a wiener dog that would solve crimes, and I remember one scene where one of the kids were looking around with a magnifying class near a mirror. I only remember one episode where they were in a circus. I'm pretty sure it was on a VHS tape and the quality wasn't too great, this is the only information I remember about it.
opensci fi anthology show episode Live Action TV
I can't for the life of me find the name of the show anywhere, or even any information about the episode in mind, but from what I remember..
the main guy was middle aged and a doctor, and throughout the episode people start using different words for things, he things its a slip of the tongue, but a young coworker refers to taking a girl out to dinner as taking her out to dinosaur, he thinks its just a thing young people are saying, but more and more words become mixed up, everyone else understands but him. at the end he goes home and can't even communicate with his child, he looks at one of the kid's picture books and it shows a picture of a dog and says Wednesday or Tuesday beneath it. that is all I can remember, please help! thanks!
open"I am a kid" song? Music
I'm looking for some song that my class sang back in first grade. To put it in perspective, I'm 15, so the song can't be newer than from 2007. The chorus was "I am a kid, I'm a K-I-D", repeated a few times and then "I'm a kid, I'm a kid, im a K-I-D, a K-I-D spells me" and the only other lyric I remember is "I'm seven, I'm eleven, I'm five, I'm eight" but the third age (five) might not be exactly accurate. I've tried searching these lyrics but I can't find it.
openMovie scene where golf/country club toilets explode like geysers Film
I remember seeing part of a movie that was set in a country/golf club. Something happened which caused streams of water to shoot from the toilets and launch the toilets themselves through the ceiling. I believe that a major character may have been responsible for this and another (possibly minor) character was using one of the toilets at the time.
Edited by Automaton120openDinosaur cartoon Film
UPDATE: I found it!
I'm looking for a dinosaur cartoon I watched when I was a kid (it must have been from the 80's/90's/early 2000's). It might have been a show centered around a group of young dinosaurs. I remember one particular episode (or perhaps movie) where one dinosaur has a tooth (think it was a tooth) on a string around it's neck, and I think the group of dinosaurs travel to throw it into a volcano, maybe for good luck I don't remember. There was also at least one "bad" dinosaur that gets in their way. I think it was an Ankylosaurus. They all meet on a ledge on the side of a volcano/mountain (or was it inside a cave?) and the Ankylosaurus blocks their way. I remember it as if the "bad" dinosaur smashes its tail against the wall, so that rocks fall and everything shakes and they all come close to falling down, and the "bad" one almost gets hurt but the group helps it.
Edited by linewormopenA handful of British children's songs?
Okay, I went to school in England when I was about four through six and they had a bunch of songs. I was wondering if you could identify and lead me to them. I only know a few scatterings of lyrics.
- Down in my tummy I'm feeling so hungry and (can't remember) for lovely food. What's on the menu for lunchtime today?
- Nobody's a nobody as God wants us to see 'cause everybody's somebody and that means even me
- Wet day, wet play
- Once in a while, every now and then, let's go and tidy up the mess again (a whole lot of lyrics I don't know) Pick them up, put them back
- Conkers, lots of lovely conkers, I want a conker that's much bigger than the rest.
openBook that was a collection of weird, twist ending stories by one author Literature
All the stories in the book were written by one author. They all had some kind of twist to them. I can remember some of the stories in detail. In the first one a boy looks for a man made of water in the desert so his father can get rich and he finds one, but he searched for so long that he is dying of thirst and the water man lets him drink him until there is almost nothing left, so he decides not to tell his father about it. In another, the second one which is really short compared to the rest, someone invents a truth detector machine and uses it on a popular girl and uses it to ask her if her crush is x guy, has brown eyes, has x color eyes, and finally if he is in the room (she says yes), and at the end the protagonist looks around and sees everyone has either brown or x eyes and finds out he is her crush, cause he has blue or green eyes.
Other ones: something with a boy with a live grandpa and dead grandma who keeps her stopwatch ticking after her death but loses it one day, fat guy uses a spell to transfer everything he eats to the stomach of people who make fun of him but at the end all the stuff he transferred comes back to him, something with a boy and a lizard tail and he eats it or something which makes his limbs able to be ripped off easily and regenerated like a lizard tail, boy who buys something from a store which magically attracts garbage so he runs away from all the garbage in the whole city until he finally drops the thing, boy and friend tries to save a fish or marine animal by keeping it in water and dumping it to the ocean which is really far away but it's actually just a toy set up by his father, boy is hung up over mother's death and is overprotective of her hat and goes to extremes to get it back if it is at risk but at the end he sacrifices it to save some animals that his father was going to kill and they reconcile as the hat floats away across the ocean, one where this boy gets some disease from a bug or cockroach so he hides in the forest for a really long time all the while threatening that he will eat the cockroach when he gets out of there, one where boy's grandpa in the mental ward tells him to prove the existence of some creature that he rambles about so he can get out of the mental ward so he goes into some cave to take a picture of it but the evidence gets destroyed. Also one that I'm not sure is from this book, where two boys get mad at some guy that is going to get their dad to lose their job because he stole or hid something, and they go underground or mining to find it but he traps them or tricks them somehow,
I just remember that the owners upped and moved and left all their old appliances in the old house. Then they come to life and then they travel who knows how long and I don't remember how it ends.
