openDoes anyone remember this one animesque show about giant arachnids? Anime
I think this was either a dubbed anime or some animesque project. I don't remember which, but I've been recalling snippets of the show. I think. It may have been hallucinations, or dreams, but I'm fairly certain it exists.... I wanna say 'Spider Crusaders', but somehow, I don't think that's quite it....
openWhat episode of Martha Speaks is this? Western Animation
An episode of Martha Speaks with this conversation (I think at a restaurant)
- Daniel (Helen's dad): "Ugh, everyone in this family's bilingual, except me! Even Martha! I bet Martha could translate those dogs!"Martha: "Translate? You mean could I tell you in English what those dogs are saying in Dog?"
openAncient Marco Polo Cartoon Western Animation
This is an odd request, but it keeps nagging me. Way back when I was a kid (between 1987 and 1990), I taped part of an animated film about Marco Polo's travels. The one segment I recorded that clearly stuck in my mind involved the ship back to Europe being damaged by a storm, forcing the crew to take temporary refuge on the Island of Dog-Men, which was inhabited by a Cannibal Tribe who dressed up in dog-pelts (wearing the empty heads as helmets). There was a nerve-racking assault by the howling, torch-bearing Dog-Men before the repaired ship managed to flee, ultimately returning home in triumph.
I have no idea what the show was. Through a final fluke of luck, I think maybe it was the 1972 animated film "The Travels of Marco Polo", as the animation seems to match my very dim memories of the scene I had taped:

Thing is, my network is abysmal, so I can't simply watch this video through to the end and see if it has the Isle of Dog-Men sequence to prove it's what I'm after. Can anyone help me find out what the Marco Polo cartoon I'm chasing is?
If it does turn out to be The Travels of Marco Polo... anyone know if there's any place to find it in English? Link is in Turkish, and there's an Arabic translation of it as well.
openWhere did this quote came from? Anime
I am pretty sure it is either an anime or a manga, but which one? All I remember was this quote, it is a bit paraphrased, but the point still stands.
"We are nothing but minds trapped inside a game called life."
That, and it was said by an antagonist. But I really forget the rest, not even the villain's appearance.
openScandinavian movie where family watches Art house film. Film
Some years ago, it might be 10 or 15, I saw a foreign film which I'm positive was Scandinavian where a father takes his children to the movies. However, they go into the wrong movie and see a film where a couple is walking down the beach with their dog. It played out normally until suddenly the woman turns to the man and says " let's eat the dog". The next scene in the movie being watched is the couple sitting or dancing around a fire. The father then takes his children out and demands a refund. It's unlikely but perhaps the encompassing film is famous enough in whichever Scandinavian country it was for someone to recognise it. I'd like to add it to the Art house film as an example of satire.
Edited by Randallw201238openOld british crime tv show Film
Its a pretty long running show, but i have only seen 1 episode. It started out like most crime series with some case that they solve that episode. However t he thing that caught my attention was that at the end of the episode there is a sub plot about theprotagonists partners ex-wifes husband being murderd. And some muddy boots tie the murder to said partner. Thats pretty much all i remember. I will be very impressed if anyone figures this one out.
openShared dream world accessed by playing a specific song on a record player
A guy is able to teleport himself and people in close proximity to a house (dollhouse in another dimension? or possibly a shared dream?) by whistling a specific song, and while there this guy (and no one else) is able to alter reality. He and the others get transported back after a short period of time (apparently because his whistling isn't very effective), but this guy decides he wants to live in the dollhouse forever, and traps these people by setting up a record player to play this song on endless loop. The other people want to escape to reality, but this guy is in control. They figure out that they can exert some control by the power of suggestion, and finally they manage to overwhelm the guy by pretending various horrible things are happening, which freaks him out and causes him to release his control so that everyone can return to reality.
Possible tropes: - Dream World - Trapped in Another World - Shattering the Illusion - Portal Picture, except more like "Portal Song" - Warp Whistle
Media: live-action, probably a TV show (at least 10 years old), possibly a film.
Edited by JoeGaggleropenNative American Chant Music
In school I remember learning this Native American chant (though it could maybe be from somewhere else). It went something similar to this: Gishay Gishay ee manihu x3 Mamuhayha wamatah x3 Gishay Giahay ee manahu Hey Hey Any iidea? Not sure about the spelling, so Google is not much help.
openSong with synth melody very similar to "Queer" by Garbage Music
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ppiohVRZ0s I can't quite put my finger on the actual rhythm, but it was a lot like Queer, except it doesn't play the same notes as the Queer synth on the 4th bars. The closest second comparison is the synth in Extreme Ways by Moby, but the rhythm and the melody is a bit different. (and no, it's not Man of Straw, which is what Garbage sampled in that song, unfortunately)
openChildhood Tv Show Live Action TV
There's this tv series I used to watch as a kid, it featured a male creature (he's not the main character) who always rolled into his underground library to pick out a book to read/narrate and once he picked it out, the animation for the story starts. I can't remember much but I do know the main characters were much larger in size, and at the end they would play with bubbles, really large ones. Anyone else watched it?
openBritish(?) comedy TV show from 1960s or 1970s or 1980s Live Action TV
Can someone name this show I saw in my childhood? It was a possibly English comedy (dubbed into German), 2 actors, live action, (name) and (name) as title (In the German version)? With a big billboard in the intro. Each ep had one theme, e.g. ancient Rome, newspaper is 1 ton of granite tablets, fiddling while Rome burns. In another ep (of this show?): using rolls royce or bently to move through very large posh house. Thanks.
openRecent pop/R&B song Music
I apologize for the extreme vagueness but I couldn't catch any of the lyrics of this song despite my efforts. I'm looking for a pop or R&B song that I think came out fairly recently (it was on the radio) and it had a bit of an electronic tinge, as I recall. All I remember is that there was a section where every bar there was a short melody followed by syllables that sounded like "ah-ah, ah-ah". The singer was a woman, I'm pretty sure of that. Any ideas?
openDoes this exist?
I got the idea the other day of a 4th wall-breaking Omnicidal Maniac who's trying to trigger a Class-Z Apocalypse How by getting the franchize itself cancelled. I was wondering if anyone knew of a character like this who already exists? (If not then any aspiring Creators may feel free to use my idea; I guarantee you'll do better with it than I could.)
openHack and Slash early Xbox 360 Game Videogame
I remember playing a demo for some hack 'n slash game a couple years back. All I can concretely remember from it is that the opening had two armies of plate-armored soldiers marching towards each other. One army's helmets had 1's at the top, and the other had a stylized 0's. Does anyone know the title?
openWhat was my cousin watching? Live Action TV
I was visiting my first cousin once removed, and he was watching this live-action tv show that had a woman, a man named River, and another man who was kinda eccentric and kept talking about wanting to go back in time to make another big bang to prevent something bad from happening, but the woman was worried that would mean River would never be born. She was crying, and the man who wanted to go back in time had this wrench or screwdriver or whatever that he was using to make or repair a time machine. He was saying something about "the void between worlds".
openA specific Wile E Coyote and Roadrunner episode Western Animation
I remember seeing a Road Runner and Coyote cartoon where Wile E Coyote gets a hand injury from a book (I think) and he gets a hurt expression on his face as a single tear rolls down his muzzle to the tip of his nose. Any idea of the episode name?
openParticular Comedy skit - Mitchell and Webb? Live Action TV
I was 100% sure it was Mitchell and Webb, before I went looking for it and couldn't find it.
Some people are standing around in a futuristic setting, making chit-chat, but all their conversation is punctuated by random utterances of things like "hail zoltan" and "by zoltans glorious beard". (Example utterances only. Not sure if the name was actually zoltan). At some point, one character pipes up with " why are you all saying 'hail zoltan'? It just seems like I was away sick on Wednesday and when I came back everyone was doing this zoltan thing". And then everyone passes the buck in a "i dunno. I started doing it because Joe was doing it" fashion. Help, please?
So this is in a book I read a while ago, where a girl attempted to commit suicide because of what this guy did to her, so her sister decides to get revenge on this guy. She cuts her hair, dyes it, changes her look, and starts wearing different clothes in an attempt to attract this guy that ruined her sisters life. She eventually gets the guy, but it happens way later in the story, and ends up being a different guy than she thought. Through the story, they go to a mall, almost get busted for shoplifting, hang out on school grounds, etc. I can't remember the exact names of the characters, but that's pretty much the story. I really, really want to read this again, and cannot remember the name of the story, or who it is by. I do remember that I checked it out from the Southwest Arlington Library in Arlington, Texas, and I think It had a girl with black hair on the front. Oh, and there is a scene in which they all are in the hospital with her sister.
