Can be a downplayed form of Died Standing Up - they remain upright for long enough to give the illusion of survival before collapsing
You Are Already Dead if they're not totally incapacitated during the pause- say, they have enough time for something like a Little "No" or "Hah, I won't die that eas-" before they explode or what have you.
For example, when a villain appears to be undefeated after the last blow or explosion, only to physically admit defeat by falling down to the ground.
