Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
All natter, too. And who gives a rat's ass about what kind of jewelry an actress wears, anyway?
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI cut a lot of the junk stuff. I will lock it if it devolves any further. Freaking actress pages and people spooging all over them.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"What's wrong with adding tropes to them? Is there a line on what we should and shouldn't put up?
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger Than YoursActor and Actress pages are for tropes common to the roles they play and the movies they're in. It's not for tropes about the actor or actress as a real life person.
So say Sarah Michelle Gellar has a great fear of being Buried Alive, and this is something she is subject to in her roles. That would fit?
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger Than YoursI could see it as being posted as an example like this:
- Buried Alive: The characters she plays often are subject to this; in reality, she actually does have a fear of this.
But I'm iffy on whether the second part is really necessary.
It is very iffy. The fact that it happens to her characters is objective and is fine. The fact that she is afraid of it is not really pertinent. Was she ever, as a real person, buried alive? If not, then it's not an example.
Anyway, we want to talk about media on this wiki. We don't want to talk about real people.

There seems to be a minor edit war going on.
