I was fooling around in Just Cause 4, when I noticed some potentially tropeworthy situations. I've actually got four situations to look at, but two of them are similar enough to another pair that I can put four examples into two situations.

Situation 1: Close-Quarters Flying

These two are (relatively) real events that happened while I was flying a PA Microfighter

Threading-the-needle evasion: I was trying to avoid a pair of Black Hand jets, when I spotted a bridge running across a canyon. What I then did was to fly not under the bridge, but at it, aiming for the support beams on one side. And once I'd gotten close enough, I closed up my wings, yoinked my way through the gap between two beams, then redeployed the wings in time to avoid an unintended landing. Though I didn't see it, after my maneuver I heard a large explosion, followed by an unmistakable cracking sound, indicating that at least one of the oversized lemmings behind me had collided with the bridge in an attempt to follow me, and had demolished the bridge as a result.
Driving A Plane: Shortly after the above, I was once again accosted by the second jet, which had somehow missed the bridge. What I then did was to fly down toward a tunnel, drop my landing gear and fold up my wings, then drive (yes, drive) my plane through the tunnel, being treated to a second explosion as the other plane succumbed to the same fate I'd avoided during the first stunt. And once I'd made it to the other side of the tunnel, I unfolded the wings, took off, and flew into the air with nary a foe in sight.

Situation 2: Plane in a Cave

These two involve the usage of an X700 Flycatcher

in a cave. And while they're mostly fictional, and thus will use TVT's filler characters instead of actual in-game characters,^note the situations themselves are predominantly based on my adventures through the Cueva de la Ñusta/Tumba de la Princesa cave system.

Unorthodox Assistance: Alice is at the edge of an underground lake, on the opposite of which is a diagonal shaft that presumably leads up to the surface, but the cavern is too big for her to get across in an efficient manner. Shortly after setting up a camp at the water's edge, intending to formulate an escape plan the next day, a small group of Elite Mooks ambushes her and forces her to call for help. Bob responds that he's inbound with a "Flycatcher," and she assumes that, as he mentioned missiles, he'd wingsuit in with a rocket launcher, grapple to the cavern's ceiling, and bombard the mooks from above. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), both Alice and the mooks fail to realize that the "Flycatcher" is an X700 fighter jet until they physically see it careening down the aforementioned shaft. And once it gets to the lake, it lets loose a missile barrage that kills all of the mooks at once, then deploys it's VTOL mode just in time for it to settle above what used to be Alice's camp. A few minutes of conversation later, and the Flycatcher is on it's way back up the shaft with Alice riding it like an oversized hoverboard.
Useless Thing Becomes Useful: Alice, Bob, and Charlie are exploring a large underground cavern in search of a powerful artifact.^note When they decide to bring weapons "just in case", Bob brings, of all things, the X700 Flycatcher. When the other two attempt to explain that bringing an aircraft into a cave is a futile idea, he counters by pointing out that not only is the majority of the cave big enough to support it, the Flycatcher's VTOL is different from a helicopter in that there's no rotors to damage should he get too close to the walls. Long story short, the X700 proves to be indispensable, and they make it to the end with no trouble. However, they do have one tiny problem, in that not only is the artifact a large statue, but attempting to take it from the main chamber will cause the entire cave system to collapse. One Distant Reaction Shot later, in which the area is shown "transforming" into a sinkhole, and the jet blitzes out of a cave in the foreground at full speed with the artifact hanging from one of it's missile racks in lieu of the aforementioned ordinance, effectively giving the ancient (in)security system the finger by simply being too fast to catch.

Situation 1 sounds like Try and Follow (you shook the pursuers by doing things they could not), with perhaps a flavor of Wronski Feint (doing the thing that evaded the obstacle at the last possible moment).

Maybe overall, but what about individually? I think I saw one about flying a plane in a tunnel at one point, but not driving one like it was a car. ^However
