Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
To be more accurate, those made up rules about The Scrappy were from the Ensemble Dark Horse entry on Square Peg, Round Trope.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!^ Ah, yes. Edited the OP.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessDM them
Wasn't Square Peg, Round Trope locked recently? Maybe it should stay that way.
Keet cleanup^^ Someone else can. I'm not confrontational enough to more than send notifiers.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI sent it. They've been summoned.
^^^ Yea I was wondering why it was unlocked recently.
Edited by PlasmaPower Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! That's a little harsh, isn't it? I've made that edit because I saw people unfairly deleting perfectly legitimate entries, just because it was a group of minor characters.
It doesn't really matter to me if it's deleted, I don't really understand why that's a big deal. It's not like I'm adding obscenities to every entry I edit.
I edit warred once, and that was a misunderstanding.
Edited by tropineasilyExcept your claims were untrue, and groups of characters don't usually fit these tropes because each of them would need to be individually popular to qualify. The Scrappy has no such rules and you just made things up instead of talking to anybody.
You also just have a misunderstanding of how YMMV is supposed to work. It's not about anyone's opinions regarding a work. It's about common fan opinions about a work. Not every faction of a fandom will agree on everything, so it's not about having 100% unity in reactions, but it's also not about every individual viewer's thoughts. YMMV tropes still have objective criteria you need to be aware of.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAs for your previous offences, I recommend reading Edit War. No hard feelings.
<(0_0<) <(0_0)> (>0_0)> KIRBY DANCEI wish I'd knew where to look them up, given that I get most of my YMMV information through osmosis. If it's incorrect, just delete it and talk to me about it, you're acting like I'm posting incorrect information about your personal opinions.
"If it's incorrect, just delete it and talk to me about it," This puts the onus on us to make sure you do things by the book, even though it's your responsibility to take care of that.
Also, you need to work on your grammar a bit.
Sorry, English is not my first language, but just saying "you need to work on your grammar" isn't helpful. Please correct me, that's the only way for me to learn first-hand.
In that case, I recommend this thread. Here, you can post entries, and that way people can correct any errors that are there before you then go on to post the corrected versions.
Thank You, I'll try to think of that next time.
As for not knowing the criteria for certain YMMV tropes, well...that's what the trope's descriptions are for.
Seriously. It'd be a good idea to just sit down one day and read some of the trope pages for these YMMV concepts to see where we're getting our arguments from. We also have tons of threads in the forums you can use if you're confused about something or want to make sure an example is correct.
The resources are there but it's up to you to take them. Nobody else here can fix the problem except for yourself.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAnd now, they've kept on adding poor examples. Here they have one example refer to an earlier one on the page. Here they write "no thanks to" when they mean "thanks to." Here they're way wordier than is necessary, or good. (Warning! Contains spoilers for the new Hunger Games book!)
None of these examples are what I'd call disastrous, but they all happened in the span of a couple of days.
Suspension issued.

Let's not beat around the bush. We've all seen their name pop up a ridiculous amount of times in ATT, often for misusing YMMV, edit warring, and generally seeming to not fully grasp how the wiki works. Just tonight I discovered they randomly edited the Ensemble Dark Horse example on Square Peg Round Trope to include false, never-established rules about The Scrappy; more on that here.
Basically, they seem to be consistently causing trouble, and this is without doing a deep-dive into their editing history to dig up more dirt. Most often, they seem to just misunderstand YMMV concepts and how they work and will edit war if something is deleted.
